Break in period is a myth. Your tank just may not have a very big bio load. I believe as you add more fish and increase your bio load it will work better. I think it's working the way it should for your bio load. 3 weeks is a pretty low bio load for that tank. Your is just really clean with is not a bad thing but I believe you will see a much better performance from your skimmer when your bio load increases. Tank looks good and clean. I think you will be fine give it some time.
The skimmer is working good now. You are right. Now that the bio load is almost maxed out the skimmer is working like it should. I also raised it about 2" from the bottom. Thanks for the feedback. That's how we learn from each other.
The skimmer is working fine. They both look similar and about the same price. I do like to looks of the Quantum. I think the adjustments are better with the Quantum. I hope that helps.
