Packing two ships together actually makes a lot of sense to me. I always felt like I needed at least 2 of any ship I wanted and have at least two of almost every ship that came out in 1st edition (minus the big ships). I don't love that you won't be able to pick up a single ship for "cheap" (they were never that cheap to begin with) but I don't hate this.
I like the standard loadout cards... wouldn't mind a pack of cards of JUST that. As fun as it is building lists and testing the different upgrades, these make for quicker games and make it more accessible for others not looking to invest the time of lifestyle games
I don't mind standard loadout cards as long as we always have the option to build our own, and also as long as the standard loadout cards are not so OP that it doesn't make sense not to use them.
One thing to not about tomax, they have a barrel roll linked to red target lock, so you could barrel roll, gain a focus token, and still target lock. It's actually pretty great honestly. Then afterwards trade the stress for a strain
Agreed. The new Tomax and Rhymer builds both have ways of getting a reposition AND double modded ordnance shot all in one round. Not a threat to an extra powerful attack on a ship that maybe wasn't even expecting to be targeted at all, all in the space of a single activation, is great. They're both conditional, sure, but I think loadouts that provide synergy rewards for good flying are the way to go. They help teach the game, and it just feels good when you pull off an awesome combo move!
Yay more X-Wing content. That being said, there are just to many games for me to keep up with... choosing where to put my money is getting harder and harder.
From what others have pointed out in other places, there are 3 new Elite upgrades in the quick builds. Hopefully they get cards as well as part of the 16 upgrade cards included. Also I wish instead of changing the abilities of the named pilots they would just make new pilot names. Having two versions of one pilot is inferior to having two separate pilots in my mind. I'll have 5 bombers if I get this and I'd like to be able to run 5 named guys instead of adding a generic. I play legacy x-wing though so for me generics are still worth something.
It is good to see new releases for x-wing. Would be nice if they would sell just the cards. Some of us who have been playing for a long time don't really need two more of most existing ships.
Just looking at Xwing again. I haven't played the game since Atomic Games acquired it. Looking at the new pilot cards does that mean that I can no longer use the Major Rhymer card that allows the player to adjust ranges or am I able to choose either card when squad building for a tourney? Thanks in advance.
I want new huge ships for the Republic and Separatist factions (I know Seppies have the Trident, but I'd like the option of something more "normal" like the C-9979 landing craft or Hardcell-class transport, though I admit those are both a bit on the large size even by epic standards). Heck, for Resistance and First Order too, though I'm not entirely sure what would fit the bill for them.
Looking forward to grab these Tie bombers at some point. My fave Star Wars ship is hard to pick, but I really enjoy the Snowspeeder from Empire Strikes Back.
Its all about the A wing and the B wing they both look just so and sleek the way the B wing transforms into attack mode and having fast A wings with that if i was a TIE fighter pilot i would turn and run
So aside from the Standard Build cards, is there anything in here you wouldn't already have if you have a couple of bomber models and device tokens from 1.0 and an Empire Conversion Kit?
Depends on what upgrade cards are included in the box. Like, if the Top Cover or Swift Approach talents we see on those loadouts are included as individual upgrade cards, that'd be content we don't already have access to. But I don't think we know what cards are included yet. Just that there are 8 ship cards and 14 upgrade cards included beyond the 4 standard loadouts.
@@grahammarten4563 You asked a question nobody has a more exact answer to yet. Other than the standard loadouts and possible new upgrade cards, there isn't likely anything you don't already own in this expansion.
Good to see there are still new expansions released. The 2 for 1 pack seems like a good investment too. I am wondering what other expansion are coming out this year.
The Outrider reprint is coming out pretty soon. AMG also teased the Alpha-Class Star Wing reprint as a 2023 project as well (not sure if it'll make it out this year, but it is coming).
If they are going all in on the standard loadout cards, then it would be nice if they sold them in a seperate pack. I already have 3 Bombers so I'm not picking up another of this, or the starter packs. I would be ok with them doing a Kickstarter if they don't feel up to doing the regular retail channel.
Looking forward to being able to get the bombers. May have to wait till Christmas but its nice that bombers are becoming more easily available again. I also think the 2 pack makes more sense then singles, way I look at it Im likely to have a list with 2 of the same ship so Id rather have 2 straight out and not have a whole box load of doubles of pilots that I have to deal with. Those standard loadouts seem pretty fun too
Love to see some more tie variants come out but be interesting to seebif they do things like the Cloakshape fighter or maybe molemines with space troopers now that would be cool.
Hopefully if they ever do a Cloakshape, it'll come with a hyperdrive sled (which exists in the lore but has never gotten an official picture, let alone a model, so AMG would be designing it themselves). That'd create a Scum equivalent to the Republic's hyperdrive ring. It'd also be interesting to see any sort of ship that could drop spacetrooper tokens. Since while they'd die in one shot from anything that has a laser cannon, spacetrooper armor could mount weapons powerful enough to hurt ships.
My two boys and I stumbled across this game this month. Having two ships in a purchase will help towards us building three armies faster. So fare we have been purchasing tier one ships since the purchase price is lower. Good for home play. But not usable at game store.
2.5 isn't bad, it just needs more work: balance the generics, get points for the epics & I'd be happy. Range 0 attacking and the new bump rules are great. I don't mind the higher penalty for obstacles. I don't play scenarios.
Haha there you go . Thats new ships comming . So , when is the missile boat comming . Also, where is the threat level on the cards ? if i remember , to play with standards loadouts, you gotta use the threat level right ?
I have mixed feelings about this double-packing of small ships. Does this mean that we'll never get get small ships that were rare in-universe and thus it would be thematically silly to run two of them even if point costs allow it? For example, my #1 most-wanted ship for X-Wing, Ventress's Ginivex-class fanblade starfighter. (Then again, maybe they could put that in a two-pack with Dooku's Punworcca 116-class solar sailer, since without the sail deployed it'd be a small ship and without having any "weapons" other than tractor beams it's something that you'd *only* ever run one of no matter how low the point cost was.) But of course, I could be getting way ahead of myself here, because who knows how long it'll be before AMG releases new ships? The only ones they've done so far are the ships that were already designed before the game was transferred to them from FFG.
Oh, and I forget, with regard to the upcoming reprints. I wonder if the new version of the Assault Gunboat will get its folding wings. Moving S-foils have been a common addition in the 2.0 reprints. So I suppose that release is going to be a good test of how much effort AMG is actually willing to put into this game.
So let me get this right, it's basically 3.0 where we have to buy all the new stuff to get the quick builds so I'm gonna have to spend thousands again to keep playing????
They should just bite the bullet on standardized loadouts and make all the named characters standardized and let generics be the ones that can be customizable.

Agreed. Can't wait to get my pair of Alpha-class starwings when they come.
I'm a fan too. Everybody needs a wingman!
Good to see the tie bomber is coming back.
¡Gracias!
Thank you!
The Naboo N-1 will always be the best ship in Star Wars
I like the standard loadout cards... wouldn't mind a pack of cards of JUST that. As fun as it is building lists and testing the different upgrades, these make for quicker games and make it more accessible for others not looking to invest the time of lifestyle games
Yep. I have a guy's weekend and will be introducing the game to a new player. Having one card ready to go would be great.

Favorite ship are Fangs and Gauntlets. Firesprays are a close second...
Spotted the Mandalorian. 😉
LETS GOOOOOOO x-wing news = good news :)
I love all the TIE variations! My plan is just to run as many TIEs as possible 😂
I've been wanting to add bombers to my collection for a while. Looks like now is the time!
Yay more X-Wing content. That being said, there are just to many games for me to keep up with... choosing where to put my money is getting harder and harder.
I'm hoping to pick up the galactic starter for x wing. Best ship is tie defender to me.
Now this is the content I like. After that I just need the lambda shuttle and my squadron is complete.
I’m excited for this pack. One of my favorites.
The Falcon will always be my favorite, but I also love xwings!

We need a lot more reprints.
I still have 4 Tie bombers from version 2, is it worth it to pick up these up?
Two bombers. Looking forward to it.

I really want a reprint of the Imperial Assault Carrier.
😪 brother, I started in x-wing 2.0 and you don't know how difficult it has been to find epic ships in this era, I'm with you.

Great video. Keep up the good work

at 9:20, the /3/ is probably because it's their 3rd pack of that serie
Just feeding up on some of your video. Awesome video!

Any idea about the release date in Europe?

I heard that 3 bombers are really meta so this would go perfectly with the empire starter pack
A-Wings and Tie Interceptors were always my favorite ships. I like the fast agile ships.
Tie bombers! This is exciting!
I'm picking this pack up. I joined x-wing after 2.5 and don't have any bombers

These bombers look great
Does Deathfire's pilot ability to launch a device link straight into the Nimble Bomber ability?
Running generics is totally viable, a person in my local meta runs a generic TIE swarm with two uniques gets exactly 8 ships on the board, it's crazy!

hope they keep it up with packing two ships together
I need something to make the CIS bomber useful again
What with the price?
Really good video!
Where is my new Dash!!!
Can it be played with the 2.0 rules? (I mean not the horrible 2.5 ones)
2.5 isn't bad, it just needs more work: balance the generics, get points for the epics & I'd be happy.

@@fieldmarshall oh ok, players are quitting by the thousands because 2.5 isn't bad, got it.

The game is just standard loadouts now right? Does that just mean you pick 4 cards and that's your fleet? No more list building?
List building is alive and well, but as they publish more and more quick builds I'm wondering what that means for the future.
I think my favorite ship is the yt-2400
I do not understand why they are changing the pilot abilities rather than just releasing new pilots.

One could hope that they'll have a pack with just the cards. But they want $, so dont expect much.
Yep.
If they can't make the rules work without forcing players to buy into yet another edition, they need to just pack it in.
I really like the 2 for 1 squadron packs. A great way to build up forces for an Epic multiplayer game, imo.
Generics, yes.
They should just bite the bullet on standardized loadouts and make all the named characters standardized and let generics be the ones that can be customizable.
