    I completely understood why Suga’s parents did not approve of his dream cuz they did not want Yoongi’s future to have the same result as theirs cuz careers like RUclips and music are really hard to be successful in so I do understand why his parents would thing that way… but in the end Suga’s story shows that if u put in all ur time and effort in ur dreams they will likely come true and that’s why I admire him sm as an artist and person❤

    💜 OCD definition + examples from me (a psychology student):
    the most stereotypical example of OCD is obsessive cleaning (or "neat freak" as you said) but that's not the definition of OCD. OCD stands for obsessive compulsive disorder. basically, OCD is when a person is compelled to perform a certain behaviour for the fear of something bad happening if they don't. for example, some OCD patients have to lock their doors a specific number of times in order to feel like they are safe from intruders. some OCD patients feel like they have to lock away all of the knives or sharp objects in their homes to stop them from hurting themselves. there are OCD patients who have a "lucky number" of sorts where they have to do things a specific number of times or else they feel like it is uncompleted or not done properly and they feel intense anxiety about that.
    they are obsessed with a particular thing (safety, cleanliness, security, a certain number, etc.) and it leads to compulsions (feeling like you NEED to do something) that are very hard to mentally overcome. hence the name OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE disorder.
    using the example of a "neat/clean freak", it's not that little imperfections make them freak out. what it really is is the fact that they feel like they HAVE to clean EVERYTHING around them (including themselves) in order to protect themselves from germs and illness. if they do not do this, they're overwhelmed with anxiety about getting sick or being dirty.
    hope this helped!! 🫶🏼💜

    There are multiple types of OCD. Being a neat freak isn’t really one of the most common things it’s just associated with it a lot. It’s more so obsessive thoughts of something bad happening and the carrying out of compulsions/rituals to ease the anxiety of these negative thoughts. These compulsions can take up a lot of time and really negatively impact your life especially if the compulsions have to be repeated multiple times to ease the anxiety.

    • @kaite_0613
      @kaite_0613 Год назад +3

      Also, it’s not always about cleaning or things being out of place. Sometimes it’s about worrying the hole in the road was a person and having to drive back hours later to double check. It can be small things like your brain worrying you didn’t lock the door or turn off the oven even when you have checked multiple times.

On the other side I can agree to Suga going forward and doing his dream, because you have to live for yourself and you have to get out and try things that’s the only way you’ll know if you can do it or not.

    Strongest and most genuine feed back I heard from ya at about 9 minutes in. Yes, people can be evil and hateful but just to reflect on what you said, these ugly, evil people hide behind comments and social media. Words can really affect others, not only truly hurt and impact but kill others. Korea is known for highest suicide rates and this is a really big topic on why so many KPop Idols take their lives. Trying to live up to others expectations and being the best version of what the industry wants them to be. While they struggle in silence there are no other support system to help them out and give them strength to guide them to the next procession of their career. I can understand cause in the KPop industry, it is so demanding. Everyone is out there trying to succeed and to some groups, as successful as they are, do not feel complete. Hence why I love why BTS is paving this way to other artists to speak truth... love themselves and move forward regardless of all the negativity...

    Yoongi's parents had always been encouraging on his love for music. If I'm not mistaken, his first equipments to make music was bought by his father. Yoongi also asked his father to turn his brother's room into a mini studio when his brother moved out to college. His mom also let him play with her old piano. She didn't discourage him. Both of them had encouraged him to make music as a hobby though, not as a career. They started to oppose when he was very serious and tried to discourage him. But all of that was because they were worried for him.
    Some army thought that he moved out to seoul when his parents kicked him out, but thats not true at all. He moved out to make it in seoul and to not burden his parents anymore. I hope that armys don't hate his parents because I once saw some armys commented that his parents should be grateful that yoongi forgave them or some bullshit like that. In fact, his parents have always been loving towards him, and they may be harsh but they always care about him and never cut him off just because he wanted to pursue music.

    • @annavarghese1807
      @annavarghese1807 Год назад +1

      I'm sorry to say u are completely mistaken. Yoongi has stated that his father used to beat him up for going to gigs and his mother used to tear his lyrics up. His brother was the only one who encouraged him. He even has a skit dedicated to this in his first mixtape. I. Which he is talking to his brother. His parents were the true villains along with poverty.
      His mother bought him his first piano but when he wanted to do music as a career she was against it.
      Which is one of the biggest reason he was the only one in bts who was working 2 part-time jobs along with being a trainee. Cause his parents didn't support him financially during his trainee life he had to provide for himself, go to school and be a trainee simultaneously.
      But his relationship with his mother is good. And he often fights with his father , since both of them have strong personalities. But i think he is very fond of his brother. He has mentioned that he learnt cooking meat from his brother. They have a good relationship.
      And he grew up with his grandmother when he was a baby since his mom was sick. So his foundation years are also messed up.

      @@annavarghese1807 I think you misunderstood me. I never said his parents supported him to be a musician. I said they supported his love for music. They just didn't want him to pursue music as a career. You can watch how his old middle school teachers talked about him and his parents in his middle school video. His conflicts with his parents started when he expressed seriously pursueing music as a job.
      Its undeniable that his parents scolded him and hit him. He talked about that in radios. However, if we consider his parents generation, corporal punishment is the norm in asian household. That doesn't mean they were trying to be abusive.
      Yoongi also never said that his parents kicked him out just because they didn't approve of his choice. I really think what happened was he was very aware of their disapproval, but wanted to prove himself so decided to make it himself. He wanted to prove himself to his parents. A lot of youths travelled from countryside and moved to seoul had that kind of mentality. Just like the actor from daegu that was invited to suchwita. Yoongi relates to his experience because he had the same struggles.
      He also stated when he got into the motorbike accident, he hid his shoulder injury from bighit because he was afraid of them knowing and cut him off. But he also added that he worked because he couldn't afford the tuition, his parents can't afford to pay for him. He himself said they can't afford to, not because they don't want to.

      @@ikmalhaikal2230 i never said that they kicked him out. He left because he had no choice. They could have aided him financially if they wanted too, taehyung's family was also poor.
      But I'm not going to argue with you. You might be living in a different situation. As an asian living in a similar condition as yoongi i still hold a grudge against my father , even though I don't express it. I feel that his life could have been a little easier if he had more responsible parents.
      But I'm thankful about his hyung.
      I'd appreciate it if u don't justify his parents behaviour, both of them were working and his brother was already working as a chef so they only had to support yoongi. So if they couldn't provide their son with a bit of money for food at least until he was 19, they were just parents for name's sake . For me only supporting a person's success is worse than not supporting them at all. Yoongi mentioned that his parents didn't even come to his shows after bangtan in the beginning. But anyways he rebuilt his relationships and is in a much better space than before. I'm just happy for him and hope he always stays happy, he has suffered enough.

      @@annavarghese1807 i think you are projecting a little bit. Regardless of what you think of his parents based on your experience, yoongi doesn't feel the same. So i'd appreciate it if you don't villainize them further. You and I both don't have enough context to judge them, but I believe in yoongi. And if he's very happy and respectful of his parents, who are we as army to do otherwise?
      We don't know much about his parents financial problem. We don't even know if taehyung wasn't having a hard time financially since he didn't mention any. But we do know that yoongi's mom always had a heart problem and her illness cause their family financial hardship.
      I'm not asking you to approve of his parents decisions nor do I approve them. I'm just saying that, we, as fans, shouldn't spread negativities about the bts members family anymore since they are the people that bts loves till now. We should understand that they are also human capable of being hurtful and making mistakes.

    4:55 I think a lot of parents get worried about their kids being in any type of creative career because their kids have to rely on themselves. There’s a lot of competition and if they burn out they might loose a part of themselves. Plus most people assume that it’s not a sustainable career choice. It’s a choice someone has to make knowing that they’ll get to do something they love, but it will be extremely hard to keep.

    • @rain_ypjm
      @rain_ypjm Год назад +3

      And tbh a lot of the time it is a risky career choice to venture, even if you feel like you truly belong in a creative career and you put in all the hard work it doesn't guarantee you'll succeed or be sustainable for long. Especially for music and art careers with the way people always get exploited and then thrown away, its just generally seen as less important in society even though our society wouldn't be what is it if not for creative people to innovate things constantly. Its a difficult choice to make, but I think anything is worth it as long as you're sticking true to yourself and doing what you're most passionate about

I want him to take his time to learn where he needs to be. I have no expectations for him. He's free to learn what he wants to. at some point, he needs to make a choice. Bottom line, I will always support him. But at some point, he'll need to decide his own trajectory. I think he will be amazing. I just think there's gonna be a long road to get there, but I will never give up on him because he is amazing. That being said, 17 he is an asshole..

    Ocd is not as simple as "i am a clean freak i am ocd" It can be about literally anything! Doing things again and again with the fear of having something bad happen if one doesn't engage in doing a certain thing! Repeatedly! I have never been clinically diagnosed but since the start of the pandemic i started washing hands to the point i got rashes all over my wrists..5-6-7 times of washing my hands at a go! Even simple things like brushing, washing hands, showering becomes a hastle! It exhausts your mind to a large extent, irritating, frustrating! So much better now but it got to a point i avoided doing house chores so that i didn't have to go to the basin or it might trigger this thing again! And since I have never been clinically diagnosed I don't like mentioning if I have ocd or not

      I have contamination OCD and yes, as a whole, OCD is more than just 'clean freak'. There are different types of OCD and different compulsions. I'm not gonna run down the whole list but the worst thing I do is cleaning my hands with bleach. A really obnoxious compulsion I have that sticks out is constantly having to spell a particular word in my head whenever I encounter it. I have to spell it until it 'feels right' and so that can be 3 times or 80 times, it just depends.
      A lot of people have the misconception that liking things 'neat & tidy' or clean is OCD, but OCD is when it is at an excessive point that it's interfering with your life & relationships, potentially even your job and causing you undue suffering or stress. OCD is one of the least respected illnesses I feel like since people just use it as a quirky personality trait when it's an actual mental illness that causes actual suffering and is not quirky or cute. But really saying this and trying to make people understand that it's harmful to toss 'OCD' around as a funny/cute thing is like fighting the wind. :/ There's no care at all for the issues it causes tbh.

      @@thisisreallystupidhelp One of the most misunderstood mental illness! Idk how to explain but when I wash my hands it's like I am extra conscious of everything around while I am washing my hands even if something is far away if I look at it or move my hand one inch here or there it feels like I have touched that thing and i wash my hands again because of that! I have studied a lot about ocd and even though I haven't been diagnosed I do apply whatever I read in my daily life-one thing that has helped me is telling yourself that okay what's going to happen at the end of the day and imagining the worst case scenario and being okay with it! Took me a lot of time and months to ease it down from how I was.. Because preciously it wasn't just the hands I used to wash my face with my hands whenever I did some chores! Not just chores but even when I went to pee, washing my hands and face with washing dish soap, handwash! It's like my mind used to tell me i touched something that's dirty again and again while I washed my hands and face! I used to take hours in the shower that it made my parents concerned because everytime I showered and went for the towel or something I used to be extra conscious to not move my hand one inch here and there or I will again think I touched something and shower again! I was okay with not showering a day and be in the bed but if I go in the shower then I become obsessed cause my mind kept telling me I touched something dirty! even though I have improved a lot over the past months I still go through it and it's mentally exhausting! Tires you out! Not just about washing hands people have ocd about something as simple as watching a video or just anything out there

    OCD is obsessive compulsive disorder. It can mean you have to wash your hands ever 30 minutes to flicking lights on and off 30 times before leaving the house. It is also very much associated with hoarding. Just a few examples of OCD. This is usually brought on by trauma with a stressor added on. 💜 it is a very hard disorder to deal with. Yoongi's parents finally accepted his dream of music in 2016 when they showed up to one of BTS's concert and sat where he could see them from the stage. They surprised him when he saw them that he actually cried and went into a full kowtow boy to them as a sign of respect.

    OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder) Definition, from someone who actually has OCD :
    It is such a misunderstood disorder. It mainly includes uncontrollable intrusive thoughts (Ex. “My family will die tomorrow”) and compulsions/acting out behaviors to avoid the anxiety surrounding those thoughts (“So to save my family, I must study obsessively to get an A on this test”). OCD is not a depression disorder, it’s a complex *anxiety* disorder. I think ppl who don’t have OCD believe people who have it are “neat freaks” because of the compulsions our minds force us to follow. They often don’t make sense to others, but the anxiety surrounding not being able to act out a compulsion is so mentally harmful. It causes trouble in every aspect of your life because it makes you perceive safe, normal things as the complete opposite without any warning or control. It’s a merciless disorder and takes many different forms.
    Which is why it hurts my heart to be reminded that Yoongi went/goes through that, especially as a artist with his type of background. He is only human but he remains so strong and open about his struggles. I really hope he is getting all the help he needs ❤️

    ocd is not a clean freak thing, but a lot of people think so bc that's how it is portrayed in media. It's an anxiety disorder, and stands for obsessive compulsive disorder. there are many different types of it. Some people have obsessions with cleaning and and are afraid of germs, but there are many who don't have those problems. but the base symptom of ocd is the unwanted thought, intrusive thoughts, and having to do compulsions to "get rid" of those thoughts. For example a thought might pop into your head like "if you don't kick your toe into that table, your family will die" or "if you don't wash your hands 5 times it means you will murder yor friends" or stuff like that. and you get very anxious if you do not wash your hands or whatever the compulsion is.most ppl experience a few symptoms of ocd but i think that to get an ocd diagnosis these obsessions and compulsions have to take up more than 3 hours of your day. ocd can be extremely hard to live with, and when my ocd was at it's worse i considered it to be the worst thing in my life, and i haven't had the easiest life so that means a lot lol. intrusive thoughts are basically thoughts that you do not agree with and actually hate, it can be thoughts that go against our morals or religion, thoughts that scare you and disgust you etc.

      Untrue actually. Never one if them or the bts said that! jin just did take care of him with the bts other members when suga used to have anxiety and depression panics / hard times.

      Yes suga talks abt this in his one of the songs ( depression) but the story of jin saving suga didnt happen.
