Making Luxury Silver Jewelery Box [ Handmade weaving technique ]

- This is a video introducing a special method of making metal (silver) by layering it.
This is one of my representative works, and it is a difficult,
laborious and time-consuming metal craft technique.
There seems to be a lot of people who are curious about how to make it,
so I opened up my know-how and made it public.
We tried to show every process as much as possible,
and we hope that it will be helpful to everyone who watches.
Thank you very much for watching.

I'm certainly hoping this is a part 1, and we'll get to see the entire box being made! Dazzling so far!
The entire box was made in 2005, and it was the work that won the grand prize in the contest.
This video is an introduction to silver weaving, and the box will show you how to do it.
thanks~
An artisan at work is always such a pleasure to see. Truly in your element!
Thank you for giving me a good review of my work and video.
I'm just as impressed by the well thought out work station as I am the work. I've never seen such an efficient, ergonomic set up in my life. I'm in the process of building my studio now and I'm going to slow down and pay a LOT more attention to the individual work stations after seeing this!
If I have helped you, I am grateful to you as well.
I hope you achieve what you want.
Mostly parents give their daughter a jewelry box ( of course with jewelry) as a gift🎁. This is beautiful✨✨😍. 🙏.
Thank you for posting and the clear details about the procedure. Congratulations on your first place finish👍
Thank you for giving me a good review of my work and video.
Very nice I've been doing silver for over 35 years but never tried a weave. I will now. Greetings from Florida USA 🇺🇲😎
You are a friend who does the same thing as me.
I hope my work will be useful to you.
thanks~
Such wonderful, stunning work. Even watching how you work is magical. Thank you so much for sharing this process.
Thank you for giving me a good review of my work and video.
Honestly a bit speechless! Stunning symmetry and the effort to keep it annealed while weaving must have been challenging...masterful. You set a new height of mastery to strive for! Thank You SM for sharing your amazing passions, talents and videography skills!
Ah... Thank you so much.
The current video is not short, but more detailed processes are omitted during actual work.
Thank you for recognizing and praising my efforts to create good content.
I will try to show you a better video.
I am very happy that you compliment and support me.
I've been watching a lot of metalworking videos lately, and this is the first one that looks doable by me, given my skills and tools, but I have to accept that this is the end result of years of work, and practice, and an incredible video, that shows how it's done right. Thank you SM, as this gives me a new hobby to start working at and striving for. Beautiful is such a plain word to use for this.
Thank you for recognizing and praising my efforts to create good content.
I will try to show you a better video.
You don't need anyone to tell you how inspiring your work is. Thank you for sharing with us.
Thank you for giving me a good review of my work and video.

Thank you for recognizing and praising my efforts to create good content.

A thing of beauty, I also would like to see the box finished.
The box was made in 2005, and this video introduces the basic metal weaving method for making a box.
There will be an opportunity to make it later.
thanks~
That box is perfect!
Thank you very much for watching my jewelry box.

Appreciate the display of technique and process a lot. Very educational!
Thank you for recognizing and praising my efforts to create good content.
I will try to show you a better video.
...lovin' your work- iv done leatherwork for 40yrs+, 3yrs at fashion and 25yrs a pattern maker, relief carving and now starting in jewellery... really inspired with your weaving...in leather I do braiding so I started braiding copper wire and added abit of twisting, annealing, soldering and pickling all learnt on the way and now I'm starting with my first 925 silver... 👍
I want to help someone who is doing something similar to what I am doing.
I am very happy that my video can help you.
Thanks~
An additional tip:
I recommend working with 95% silver.
It's a bit softer so it's easier to work with.
@SilverMeister ...ahhhh, that explains it... first time iv used 925 and I annealed the hell out of it, quenched and it was only a little easier to work... I'll be looking for the softer one next time, thanks... just to ask aswell I'm looking for a milling machine and Foredom SR soon'ish and the price can be a bit steep but I saw a brand called Vevor (I think) on line and wondered what you know about them ??? The prices are so good even if it only lasted a year it's worth it... personally I think with a good maintenance routine and not overworking a product iv had quite good success spending minimal money in the short term...
I don't know much about Vevor.
Foredom is, as you said, very expensive.
The Foredom I use is an old product that I received as a gift 30 years ago.
In Korea, offline tool shops sell domestically made handpieces, and I use them because they are relatively inexpensive and do not break down.
I don't know about online shops. sorry.
@SilverMeister ...iv just recently watched a couple of short stories on the Vevor brand and it was clearly showing the brand name Foredom is cast into the body at the top... im thinking Foredom created a cheaper brand as competition against itself to corner more of the sales market... its literally the difference between $700-$800 compared to $100-$180... I dont normally go to such a cheaper brand but I also want a milling machine which in the same brand of Vevor and seems very affordable also... plus after watching a variety of different artists either unboxing them and giving their opinion or showing them in use while giving high praise is very encouraging and if I continue in this direction I can invest more confidently in myself later... im also looking forward to trying some of the rings your doing... lol, you make it look easy and im a fast learner... 👍
simply beautiful
Thanks !
It feels like Christmas when you have a new video come out. For real, I look forward to your content more than any other channel I subscribe to. Your talent and the way you show your process has helped me more than I can put into words!
Thank you for recognizing and praising my efforts to create good content.
I will try to show you a better video.
Fantastic video. I enjoyed the process. Tyfs.
am very happy that you compliment and support me.
This looks amazing! I am a little disappointed that we did not get to see the rest of the box.
The box shows the completed example.
This was completed in 2005.
The subject of this video is to share silver weaving work methods.
Thanks~
This is a very beautiful video. well done

That is a amazing piece of work, lots of time would have gone into it. I would love to try this.

Wow. Just fantastic. I may have to do something similar, but much easier, using copper wire. (And I'll screw that up a few times before I get something decent.) Many thanks for the inspiration and glimpse of a true meister.
I already have a lot of copper wire.
However, I applied a piece of pure copper that has a higher purity than the copper wire I have.
Everything I do has a reason.
thank you very much
Appreciate your craftsmanship and your willingness to share what you've learned. Thank you.

A perfect gridline ! 👍
Thank you for your praise.
Amazing skills, tyvm for sharing!!!
Thanks !
What beautiful results! I'm not a metal-worker, but am interested in the process. I did want to ask--what is that gorgeous black wood you are using as the block you work on? I love that, and it must be pretty hard wood to be sturdy enough to use in metal working. That aside, I can see why your work won a medal, it is an intricate process requiring attention to detail. Very well done!
Black Wood appears a lot in my other videos.
Mpingo (African Blackwood) is the hardest, hardest, heaviest, and sinks in water due to its high specific gravity.
This is a tree that grows naturally in Africa (mainly Tanzania and southern regions) and is used to make high-end musical instruments and is also used for the black keys of top-notch pianos.
Thank you very much for recognizing my efforts to create good content.
@@SilverMeister And thank you very much for indulging my curiosity. Cheers!

Great work sajannim I like work with you
The word sajannim (sajang-nim) refers to the owner (head, representative) of a company or store.
I work alone in a small workshop, so it seems right to be called just a craftsman or a craft artist.
Anyway, thank you very much for your comment~
Sajannim-nim befor i worked 10 years in Korea but i have experience of jewelry silver and gold platinum. I can speak Korean Kansa hamnida! Please reply to me

Thanks to your comment, I am encouraged.
Thanks a lot

Why do you add copper when melting the silver?
It improves durability, improves processability, improves color, and in many other ways...
Alloying is done to improve the properties of pure silver.
It was interesting to see how you wove silver, but I wanted to see how you made the box. How do we get to see that?
The box was made in 2005, and this video introduces the basic metal weaving method for making a box.

What did you do to your hand bud? That flame? You do some amazing work, I'd love to try this one day
The wound on the palm of my right hand is not burnt.
It is a trace of working with a metal tool in hand for a long time,
And the wound gets worse and then gets better and repeats.
As you continue to treat, you will gradually get better.
Thank you very much for worrying about my wounds~
@@SilverMeister hey no problem bud, it looked like it hurt. Great channel and love watching you make stuff. Would like to see the rest of this build tho if you have it

The ebony jig @ 12:30 is beautiful
Thank you
Is it probably easier to roll back strips of wire? Silver losses are less.
Would I not know it?
The way you said is easy to work with, but it stretches and distorts when working with the hammer texture.
The process of correcting it is more costly, time consuming and difficult.
I've been doing a lot of different jobs a lot longer than you might imagine.
Aim for the most optimal work.
@@SilverMeister It's just a pity for your time spent on a jigsaw saw
Compared to the method you suggested, the sawing method like mine is more time-saving.
Do you understand this?
If you don't understand what I mean, you don't know the nature of silver work.
I politely decline further conversation with you. sorry
Why couldn’t you use the roll of flat silver strip for both parts? Just hammer the pattern into half of them? I’m sure there’s a good reason.
Paul
There is a reason why my work is all like that.
I can't explain all the reasons in words.
Is that an ebony sawing wedge??
I don't know what you are asking.
