- MBRP Exhaust Comparison for 2016 Camaro SS
MBRP is hard at work with their 2016 Camaro SS!! They have a Axle-back and Cat-back system in the works. They plan to offer 2 different sounding muffler systems, Race Series and Street Series.
Stay tuned for more as MBRP hopes to have their system done very soon!!

Yo u Guy’s had it on stealth mode! Y’all trying to mislead people
My favorite was the Axle back
You had the stock exhaust on tour/stealth mode
They had the stock exhaust in stealth mode. Come on!
The street series catback sounds amazing!
yeah uhhh problem. stock exhaust does not sound that low. they had it on on tour mode and stealth....pretty shitty. my stock 2017 fucking screams when i hit the gas.
I was thinking the same thing ... something doesn't sound right on the first sound ...I don't know if it is a different car that is not being showing but yeah ...I heard it too
Loving the street series!
I love the race cat back! just threw up a review on my channel
Seems the MBRP axel back only has a deeper more aggressive tone than the MBRP street series catback.
Check out the video we just posted. We just did an install on the MBRP Cat-back system and it sounds different when compared to MBRPs video.
yea, I feel the same way. It seems the axle-back is the loudest option in this video. Would this be accurate?
Witch ones have no drone?
Video is very helpful. Thanks. I’ve read the previous convo here & if I’m not mistaken you guys mentioned that only axles works for automatic. Does the company already made catbacks for automatic already?
Yes, right now only the Axle-back systems will not require any other modification to work with the Automatic transmissions Camaro's. They do have a plan to work on a Cat-back system for the Automatics but right now we do not have a time frame.
Phastek Performance ... Damn! Sucks for me 😭 thank you for your reply. Will be ordering axle on your website tho. Thanks again 👍🏾
Is the catback a pain to install?
i wouldn't even change the factory exhaust.. it sounds good already! the comparison is clearly not in sport mode for the exhaust!
1warcquel exactly what I said, they must’ve thought it would’ve been a better selling point. But the “customer”of this product owners the 6th gen ss, so they must know it’s in stealth mode. MBRP trying to pull a fast one! Would’ve liked to see the comparison on sport mode from the company.
My favorite was the Borla Atak catback. Gross on my 2018. Spend the money and thank yourself for doing it
Both series sounds great imo.
wait so you have to buy the dual mode exhaust for 1k from chevy then take it off and buy this one? because if you dont buy the dual mode exhaust option from chevy you only get a single exhaust tip and these will not fit in the stock single exhaust diffuser?
No, this system will eliminate the dual mode or NPP function. So you do not have to buy the dual mode exhaust from the factory.
You will however need to buy a new rear diffuser that will allow for the quad tips.
Phastek Performance got it thanks
Yes, you do loose the function of the valves with this exhaust.
wow, that´s the best sound i heard so far on this new Camaro.
will it be available in europe (germany) ? perhaps the street legal version ?
That stock dual mode is not at all how it sounds opened, the NPP valves were never open, making it the quietest setting available on stock exhaust. Stock Dual Mode exhaust gives you pops and burbles to a much higher degree than any MBRP video I have seen.
Why is it that the Mbrp exhaust sound much louder on the Mustangs?
We think that it might just be a difference in design between the factory systems or MBRP has chosen different mufflers to be used between vehicles.
Looking up these exhaust on MBRP's website, it says 6-speed. Does that mean it does not work on automatics?
Only the axle back systems will work on the Automatics. The reason they do not work on Automatics is cause they do not have the bracket for the AFM valves. MBRP does plan on making a system for the Automatics but at this time we do not have an ETA.
well thats pretty fucking lame.
@@PhastekPerformance do they work on automatics now?
@@ellisdaniels688 AFM valve simulators would be necessary to keep the check engine light from coming on.

AXLE BACK for the WIN
I always shop for 5th gen parts at phastek! Excellent service, products and fast shipping!
Thank you for the kind words!! We appreciate your support!!
+Phastek Performance my pleasure!
Your profile pic is how I want my 5 gen to look
Headers is the best way to go
Is this the installer series or xp series
The system in the video is the Installer Series.
@@PhastekPerformance it’s the xp race edition is louder ??
Any drone on this setup?
Virtually no drone with MBRP.
Lol your version of "hard acceleration" created less sound than my first morning piss!
Misplaced by my Face 😂😂😂😂😂
Are you talking the 56sec video?? I mean really that was a waste of my time and I don't feel that a fair comparison since it's not tested against the other exhaust like the other test
We are working on a longer video but the editing does take some time. MBRP made this video so that is how they got the different comparisons. Stay tuned we are working on a comparison video ourselves.
Will this be available for NPP equipped LT1's?
MBRP has not said if their are going to integrate the NPP system. From what we can tell the NPP system is not functional on their system.
how does the race catback drone?
Not a whole lot. There is more exhaust sound then drone which is what we like about the system.
Magnaflow axle back sound better than all of them.
