I saw the other video where you said it didnt work. I mated a preditor 420 with an AR 4G40 with no issues. I have around 10 hours on it so far with no troubles. I am running the MI-T-M 20"surface cleaner. It maintains 2700 psi running at the surface cleaner with 4gm using 25025 tips...Love it so far!
Brandon Shreve it works but go with a Honda engine. Much better quality and that's what's on it now. Check out my updated video on this pressure washer
I am wanting to build myself one out of a 17.5 hp briggs. It is off of a riding mower. Still have to get prices of tge wand and hoses to see about how much I will have in it with Just the pump, hoses and wand. Thanks for the upload
Ozzie Alarcon I'd recommend that you buy an electric start pressure washer from powerwash.com It will be cheaper than building the pressure washer and easier of course.
Neah, electric pressure washers don't have nowhere near the capabilities like gasoline units have. I'm thinking about getting a 13HP Harbor Freight engine coupled to an AR Pump branded pump. What's the general opinion on those pumps? Good, decent or bad?
Powerwash.com sells gas powered pressure washers with electric start. I wouldn't recommend the harbor freight engine because I didn't have good luck with it. The AR pump is a good pump though
Thats a really nice pressure washer even better that you can say you built it yourself. I wish you good luck with your company and the spring cleaning season.
Ok leaving an engine at consistent rpm is not good for breaking in any engine the correct way to break In a motor is creation in rpm with low heavy load and quick throttle and no high rpm:
Larson Varenhorst if I'm honest, you're better off building one like this. you get better value for what you pay. I'd also recommend you stay away from Dewalt because AAA pumps are bad pumps. stihl is just overpriced for what you could build yourself.
Dude you wasted your money and time. You still have to buy a wand and hose. So you still looking at $800-900 to build “your own”. Not the mention you need a battery and cables for the electric start. And me personally, I don’t really see any room for a battery on that pressure washer cart. Definitely not a budget build. You can go to Home Depot and get a similar pressure washer for $900. Maybe without electric start but that’s on eBay for $85.00
Billy Knight allow me to clarify some things. 1. Electric start isn't necessary to the operation and that option is there primarily for when retrofitting this engine onto other equipment. I have since changed this engine to a Honda gx390. 2. Buying a pressure washer from home depot isn't a sound choice unless you order a water cannon or something with a name brand pump (AR/Cat/General Pump etc.) Buying a dewalt in store has about the worst pump ever made, AAA. These pumps don't have a good bypass unloader, therefore they heat up very fast when the gun isn't depressed, and over time, this can cause the pump to blow. If I was doing this again I'd go online and order a Delux 4gpm belt drive pressure washer which is far superior to this build. Building it was not cost effective which I realized a while ago.
ilike2mow well maybe you should delete this video and remake a new one. AAA pumps are not bad pumps of people would take care of them like that suppose to. I really don’t believe in all the name brand horse shit, because they all are built the same. It’s just a NAME. It’s not the pump it’s the people, trust me I work on these things. But believe what you will
So after 2 yrs. Are you still using this pump, and if so how is it holding up ?
This pump is ideal to be mated with a 15 horse motor. How’s that holding up?
nice video man I need to build one
KB'S Small engine Repair parts & Service it was a great project. thanks for watching :)
What size bolts and length to install the pump to pressure washer?
I saw the other video where you said it didnt work. I mated a preditor 420 with an AR 4G40

Richard Clair nice I am now using a be whirl a way surface cleaner
ilike2mow how do you like the whirl away...what nozzles are you running? 25025 or 25020
ilike2mow so it did or didn't work I'm thinking of building the same one
Brandon Shreve it works but go with a Honda engine. Much better quality and that's what's on it now. Check out my updated video on this pressure washer
ilike2mow if I can I absolutely will did the predator give the pump all the power needed to produce 4000psi at 4gpm? I'll check out the video!
Nice job man.
JPorkins88 thanks :)
Great job👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
What PSI and GPM are you running ?
wow nice job!
Grass Daddy thanks man :)

Better get an attachment to that pressure unloader. The attachment unloader can by pass. That pump can burn up on just a thermal relief.
I plan on building something similar with electric start being a must have. I'm in a wheelchair so pull start engines aren't an option for me.
Ozzie Alarcon I'd recommend that you buy an electric start pressure washer from powerwash.com

What kind of problems did you have with the HF engine?
Ozzie Alarcon hot start issues, overheating, lack of power..
For I will build a belt drive power washer. I saw that video on RUclips.
What psi does this put out?
Charlie B 4000 psi, but the 4gpm is what matters. Water flow is what moves the dirt and grime
Ok thanks! I'm new to pressure washers lol
Charlie B no problem. Feel free to check out my 2 most recent uploads where I discuss more pressure washing information if you're interested.
I just built a pressure washer from found parts! Check out the video!
Built the same machine. I like my predator better than my honda
Man now your making me want to build one lol even though I don't need one
Hank's Small Engine Repair it was a fun project. might give you an excuse to buy one of these engines lol
Duuuude don't tell me that!! Lol

Aaron thanks man :)
Ok leaving an engine at consistent rpm is not good for breaking in any engine the correct way to break In a motor is creation in rpm with low heavy load and quick throttle and no high rpm:
kyle budd the manual said to allow it to idle for 3 hrs with no load to properly seat the rings. I followed what the manual says to do.
I saw a new return item AR 4G40 on a Briggs at Sears for $100. Needless to say I brought it home that same day.
What GPM and Psi does it do?
Larson Varenhorst it does 4000 psi and 4 gpm
Nice!. if I buy a new pressure washer it would probably be a DeWALT or stihl
Larson Varenhorst if I'm honest, you're better off building one like this. you get better value for what you pay. I'd also recommend you stay away from Dewalt because AAA pumps are bad pumps. stihl is just overpriced for what you could build yourself.

ilike2mow o and another thing. Those AAA pumps are made by Comet. Lol
