Had my MT15 way back 2019. 159K plang nun. Only mod i made was edited the display greeting when you turn ON the key. Replaced "buddy" with my name. Cool feature.
Definitely. I can't count how many times I've been saved by the ABS of my Duke 200. I ride aggressively. D200's low end torque definitely needs an ABS brakes. It may be a 200cc but when everyone see how commanding it looks with a rider, they make a way for you.
I have an ns200 right now and is planning to purchase a Duke later this month if ma approve. Power wise, im sure mas lamang ang duke, lahat na nakasabay ko na stock mt15 iniiwan ng ns200 ko. Just my 2 cents here.
For a more experienced rider, hindi naman malaking kawalan if MT15 lacks ABS. Not saying I am an expert pagdating sa pagmomotor pero in my 2 decades of motorcycle riding mapa underbone, scooter, backbone, etc., road awareness and proper braking techniques lang oks na. Never used one with ABS pero I guess okay din na mas nagrerely ka sa braking/riding skills mo kesa sa features ng motor mo. MT15 ftw!
True sir. Pero to be fair pati yung slipper clutch assist ni mt15 di rin ganun ka significant pag matagal ka ng nagmomotor muscle memory na din kasi yung braking technique lalo na pag same na motor yung ginagamit mo ng paulit. Overall di ko macoconsider as deal breaker pero I'll admit it's still nice to have those features.
what you said guys are true. if you are used to having none of these features when riding small cc motorcycles, you won’t even notice them at all. but then, if you get to experience having them on a regular basis, that may probably the time you will say… hmmm… yeah, meron nga advantage having those features in and may be a big factor when getting a bike, especially in choosing “performance” bikes. but yes mga sirs, thank you po for sharing your thoughts! 👍🏼
A more budget friendly option and more fuel efficient alternative to duke200 with almost the same power output and abs(same engine except the cylinder head) would be the ns200.
Duke200 without a doubt. The Dual ABS alone is a deal breaker already, any bike that is worth more than 150K should have an ABS as standard, and the Duke also has a higher HP (25.8 vs 18.4 of MT15), Higher Torque (19.5 Nm vs 14.1Nm of MT15), a bigger engine, bigger tires, bigger brakes, better suspension, Panel has more info. It offers a more big bike feel than the MT15. especially when you look at their engines from the side. The only issue for me with the duke is the maintenance cost, but Parts are available because they are assembled here in the PH, medyo mahal lang talaga compared to a Yamaha part . And the underbelly exhaust design and sound of the duke is S#!t! LOL!
I own a duke 200 and it is without a doubt a great beginner/city bike. Just change them bunny ear rear view mirrors and get yourself a Yoshimura exhaust 😂

Another point of concern for me is that I have to go through stop n go traffic everyday, and while I'm okay doing that with a Yamaha bike, doing that with the Duke is concerning coz of one reason or another.... that said, I don't mind having both the XSR and the Duke in my garage.
