without the path and haunted gale ( free damage and still can proc suffocation ) makes it become 2 perfect cast hits instead of 3 making it actually pretty good as it just is free damage

Don't use shade bringer with sparks. The overhead slash is slow, and the multiplying spark doesn't cancel if you get hit, so it's like 3 free hits of damage on you.
