PM, please learn me something. Why have you actual amps and cabs set up backstage with just “lookers” onstage? This never made sense to me. Thanks!
P.s., great rundown as always. These kids really bring it!
I love that John has seen it all and met all these world class musicians and he’s still genuinely excited and interested no matter who he’s talking to.
No Question, John is The Best !
He’s a professional musician and he probably thinks how this stuff would effect his sound.
Absolutely!
Sometimes I just watch these for John’s enthusiasm. ‘That’s killer maaaan’
most artists are so 'cool am i done...?' with their vibe yet here we have Jake hanging out and offering to show off more pedals you didn't ask for. Solid chap.
Many artists in these videos have been very forthcoming.
@@nickk5948 Brian May, Tommy Emmanuel, Joe Bonamassa, Steve Vai, Tom Morello to name a few.
I can't remember anyone off the top of my head who appeared on this show and was "cool, am I done?".
That's because he's basically a kid showing off his toys to people giving him attention.
@@MoonshineSazerac ...so?
@@nickk5948 Adam Granduciel has a great time on his
i don’t play guitar at all but the way he explains everything is fascinating to me
Those guys from Greta Van Fleet are very articulate ..,, funny, very cultured ... love to watch their interviews!!
Same here. It's so interesting to see how they produce what I've enjoyed listening to all these years. Not just this band of course.
Then go buy one
I do play guitar, like an one-armed toddler compared to this guy, and i can tell you this is unbelievable
That was the most bad ass quick rig video I’ve seen.

I could listen to sam and jake talk about their instruments for the rest of my life and not get tired of it.
This is one of the best Premier Guitar videos I have seen.
Jake was more than willing to explain and demonstrate what he uses and what he gets out of it.
Seems to be a very humble guy.
Yeah hate when the roadie is there instead of the artist.
Jake rules. Can't wait to see what else these guys come out with in the future. Their musical journey is just starting.
Really taking their live sound to the next level.
It's amazing to see how big the band have got since the last rig rundown. Small venue to an arena 👏🏼
I love this dude. So into guitar. Saw them live in Nashville twice...amazing live show.
Don’t ever stop making these guys !!!! And what a lovely bloke with a great rig 👍🏻
I wish more Rig Rundowns left John speechless... I see him tell the musician what the peddles will do in most cases....I like the innovation coming out of these young players. Greta Van Fleet has certainly got there own sound. Love them!!!!
Pedals.
Yeah they are know for having their own, unique sound. Lol
Own Sound? Really! Love Them. But own aound
@@morganghetti haha
Yeah Led Zeppelin ruled.
Those riffs are seriously transcended to another level through their new stereo setup and Jake’s new pedal configuration. Wonderfully covered PG! ☺️
Once you go stereo it's so hard to go back, you just get addicted to that full sound. That wah effect is SO COOL
I have a 12-string SG clone that I converted to stereo out. Neck and bridge pickups are independent and go through separate chains. I am a beginner player, but I thought it was a neat idea, and it seemed ignored.
@@bunnyrabbit4972 That sounds awesome. Some early Gretsch and Rickenbacker guitars had that sort of stereo output. I'd love to play one like that someday.
It's awesome to see just how far Jake has come over the past few years as a player, man, great rundown as always PG and keep 'em coming
This kid has come along way since they first came out. The whole band has actually. They are pretty damn good these days.
That stereo stage panning is pretty cool
Cave In used to do a DIY version of that with the song Juggernaut live. Where each guitarist would only play one note of the riff in a descending pattern. It sounded MENTAL live
Thanks for this Jake is EASILY in my top 10 favorite guitarists!
Love that Jake demos all the effects. Great rig rundown!
Had me at the stereo wah thing. Amazing in my earbuds. I will be following Mr Kiskza from now on.
Rig Rundown is back
We never left!
One of my favourite guitar players.
Do I play electric guitar? No. Do I know what these pedals do? Maybe a little after hearing him explain it. Could I listen to him explain it all day because you can tell it’s something he’s absolutely passionate about? All dang day. I could listen to him talk about and play guitar for hours on end.
Isn’t there something beautiful about people talking about things that sets their heart on fire?
These fellas have brought the style, character , and charisma back to rock music again. Its New Old School. And it is exactly what music needs in this age of Over quantize'd, and auto tuned , soul less tripe calling itself art today. Greta has made me excited for music again.
Exactly, the only way to make good music is to rehash the same old shit over and over again.
@@GatenGraver if it sounds great, who the hell cares? there's a reason people revisit old sounds: because they're good and people like them. demanding that every single band be "innovative" is silly, and disparaging music just because it has obvious influences is a total cop-out.
Jake is an UNBELIEVABLE guitar player! So much talent!!! You can’t help but like this “new” band and sound. GVF is a band to keep your eyes on. Rock on, Jake! You have such a Bitchen, original style! Great sound…..
No he’s not. He’s like a Spotify algorithm guitar player. And GVF is a zeppelin rip off
@@mikecantreed and you are a critic that no one will listen to. Are you kidding me? Go back to the weeds, buddy. Chirp, chirp. Crickets. That’s all I hear on your comment. Most fresh new music to come out in years. LZ? Maybe. How many bands sound like predecessors? Kinda how it works…..
@@mikecantreed I guess the 2.8 million viewers to watch their latest videos are all watching and complaining about their sound…..
That POG sound was killer
It was a pleasure hearing it live in Nashville💖absolutely amazing and beautiful🙌🏻
Same guitar as me and the POG and the Mel9 with the exact same settings as me. Blown away. One of the best videos on this channel.
This dude is a great artist. Great video.
Have a great day!
This guy has gotten better and it’s cool to see them experimenting with different effects.
He had the vibe when they "broke out", but you're right, he's *definitely* gotten better!
Love these guys, and I'm from Michigan, so it seems even better.
I love to hear their progress
Jake plays guitar with his whole body
Yeah love how he naturally drops into rock position when he starts playing
Is there another way?😎
I use a plectrum.
I've been thinking about stereo wah for a long time and wondering why I've never seen anyone do it. Well there it is!!! Jake's got a great thing going here! I really gravitate to his style too. Fantastic player.
Not really into his band... however this is definitely the best gear rundown I've seen so far! He seems like a cool dude!
@Nick Swanson they're not telling the world shit about how it can survive. they're just playing the music they want to play, inspired by the music they love, and it's good stuff. it's not that deep, man.
@Nick Swanson ruclips.net/video/vtblq-m0Tu8/видео.html ... Talk about moving backward.
Jake really knows his craft. Very talented guitarist.
More sophisticated than I thought! I assumed fuzz, wah, an OD or 2 going straight to the amp. Haven't listened to them enough. I like everything I've heard from them. Going to play them now.
Wow. Crazy to see how him and his gear have evolved.
Super cool rig rundown & awesome to see this kind of innovation make it into live setups. I’d love to go see their show!
That wah was even stereo on my iPhone with no earbuds. 🤘🏼
The sound is amazing just through my phone spkr can't imagine how awesome it would sound live
Jake so awesomely nerdy Perfect for any truly interested interviewer and devoted fans (like me) Thank you for being you Jakey 😮
Yes you can hear the stereo wah. Nice!
Very cool effect stereo wan ! But awesome Rig Run Down in general ! Thanks! Would love to be at this concert!
Really enjoy the Gibson tone with Jake's fantastic creative and unique style of playing. He and the rest of the band are true artists.
We are so lucky to get to see this stuff. Imagine If they had rig rundowns of Hendrix, page, SRV etc.. back in the day and we could catch those on here 😩
This is why new generations NEED to get into Rock and Roll. You just never know what innovations they'll be bringing to the table in the future
Sweet vid and sweet venue! Loving those effects.
This is so crazy ! That guitar sounds like a gigantic beast ! I bet the sound guys must love this XD
Those sounds are great! This guy is really creative.
Love this band, love this guitarist, and love this interviewer.....cheers from Canada!
Nice video! I saw Deep Purple in the 80's and Ritchie did that pan-wah! Great effect in a big setting! Rock on!
That really is the coolest wah I've ever heard
I could literally watch him play all day
Definitely listen with stereo speakers. Cool wah!
I love the stereo wah effect , it sounds f*cking great !...Thanks Jake & John ( Premier Guitar )
Innovating on classic rock. GVF is not stuck in the past, they're moving it forward.
Wow. What great sounds this guy is coming up with. A lot of 70s vibe. Very impressive
That stereo wah setup 🤯🔥🔥🔥
Damn - that dude has an amazing sound!
That was the stuff! Right on!
I just never want these videos to end
Wow, that panning whah is a really cool idea!
That Gibson has such an amazing sound, reminds me of John Cippolina/Quicksilver messenger service
Oh man! This is awesome
Digging the Tyler Bryant and the Shakedown T-shirt. He's cool af and an awesome player!
Jake such a killer guitar player!!
Fascinating. Love the innovations. GVF is fantastic live.
Can't wait to see the full rig rundown :)
Ah yes, literally this generation's embodiment of 70's rock n roll! I need to listen to more of their stuff dangit.
I have not enjoyed GVF sp far, but this guitar rig is RIGHT up my alley.
Love his heavy Blues influence sounds like some deep south delta influence in there. Brilliant Musician
Yes. most of his favorite ones are classic blues guitar players ...he was raised along with his brothers listening to his dad's old vinyls: The Who, Cream , Doors, Rolling Stones ,Cream ect.....
God i love their sound!
My headphones just melted.
Okay, when a pedalboard demo gives me gooseflesh, someone has been tonesmithing overtime.
I need a band called the Tonesmith now
I really resisted liking GVF, AND I totally clicked on this video with an "arms crossed, bah-humbug" attitude. OK, so I was wrong on both counts. This guy is cool, and seems like a great guy as well. OK, (I'm a) Boomer...
as long as you admit to it. just love music!
Their most recent CD is great! Classic rock completely, and full of the usual clichés, but I love every second of it! (Boomer here too.)
Well done. Much better than the last rundown.
Love this kid!
My God..that made my short hairs stand
up,.. followed by playing my drums for 40 minutes straight at 7:30 in the damn morning!!!
So much LOVE.
Such a cool dude!
That's what I love about Electro Harmonix, professional quality effects that the average guitarist can actually afford.
Just noodling my $15k 61’ Les Paul guitar in the rain. Gotta love that. You can tell the young man really loves playing guitar. Gotta stop that lean back move. Gonna kill his back for good.
Jake has a great sounding rig ! 👍👍🎸😎
Damn this is so creative! Makes me want to run out and buy a bunch of EHX pedals...
Oh wow! I actually heard that stereo effect on my phone! Thanks for helping me test my phone 😊
I love these guys!
Fantastic to see up and coming cats embracing stereo guitar rigs! I run an Axe FX III in my live rig and program all my presets with stereo effects, and it's sublime. We get similar reactions to what Jake got here because it just sounds so cool. However, we run into a lot of venues with mono PA systems, and it's a bit of drag to have my effects summed down to mono as the only guitar player in the band. Long live stereo guitar rigs! \m/
I run stereo delays/echo into two amps, and it’s the same thing. About one in four venues we’ve played have stereo sound systems. A lot is lost in the translation to mono. It still sounds and feels cool onstage though. :)
@@richietownsend6737 Yea! We run our in ears in stereo, so always sounds good to us. I'm a bit crazy and have since created a second signal path for OUT2 that taps in after the cab block, and then goes into effects configured to sound best in mono. HUGE pain (and time consuming) to equalize volume levels between both outs if you have a lot of presets, but I've pretty much got it using a decibel meter... so when we run into a mono PA, I just hand them OUT2. 👍
Great Van fleet RULES!!!
Finally a rock band that is getting the young people listen to the music. These guys are great. I wish them all the success in the world.
Sounds fantastic
Amazing, both of these guys are awesome and I am inspired by new ideas and sounds.
Very cool. Also love the Acoustic cabs in the background.... Boom.
Dammit, I knew something weird was going on with his wah playing..brilliant!..edit..I discovered the brilliant reverb like sounds/Tone in general, you can get running an octave pedal through your setup
Stereo Wah! Oh yeah!
Hi Andy
@@Gaslight.Guitar Hey Marco!
What a cool stereo effects set up he has! Doesn’t he?
Sounds Massive!
I want it!
@@AndyDion yeah pretty impressiv. Looking forward to the full rundown. :)
I love hearing Jakes technical knowledge.
great rig and great video
Awesome. 👍 The stereo setup and Pog… So cool 😎.
Listen with headphones!.......sounds good.
There is something very Spinal Tap about this….. I love it!😀
Love this band! They are the Sleepers of Rock! Talking like sleeper hotrods!
Jake is so generous with is time , thank you!
