We've finally done it! We've made it to Oshkosh. What was your favorite part of the journey? What are you looking forward to in the panel install? COMMENT BELOW.
Just saw a sneak peak of your upgrades on Aviation 101! So glad I follow both of y'all. I've never commented on your channel before but I do own a AoA shirt and hat and you guys and Trent Palmer are the reason I got my license. Thanks for the great content!
Hi Chris, I have noticed that you use an iPad mini and Daniel uses a larger screen iPad. For flying in a smaller cockpit and use for the purpose of aviation. What would be your recommendation for someone receiving their PPL and about to invest in an iPad?
Thanks for the shoutout, we had fun surprising you with the drive up from Chicago 🤙 …and glad the peer pressure prevailed on getting into the Garmin GI275’s vs. G5…Jessica sold you on that 😀
I love hearing familiar ATC voices on world-famous channels! I also had a recent DG issue, too. The gyro was probably going bad, vacuum was still strong. Glad you made it safe.
Great adventure. Really enjoyed watching the whole journey. Great to see both of you enjoying each others friendship and company along the way. Happy times!
Thank you for all the videos. I miss flying so much out here in Arizona. I had to stop my instrument rating because of $$$. But I love watching these and makes me want to find a way to get back into it again.
Sorry to hear that. Keep the dream alive. Save some stuff on the side. You can figure it out. Thanks for following along and I'm glad it scratches an itch!
I truly enjoyed this series. Looking at the footage of the cockpit and the work that you're getting done. Looking at the latest video from aviation101, it looks like you had this work done in these videos were from early 2021. I know you are now enjoying all the updated avionics in 23U. It's great to watch your expertise in the aircraft. You have become a very skilled pilot.
@13:45 They gravel the roads out there with red Scoria because thats all they have, also you flew right over Theadore Rosevelt Nation Park right afterwords. @30:00 in Glenwood, you flew over "The Millennial Farmer" farm.
It was that time of year. I hope you and your family had a wonderful holiday season. Watching your videos makes my focus on my goal of getting my PPL by the end of this year.
That's crazy the vacuum pump failed on the last leg of that entire flight. Those old vacuum pumps have gotten more than a few pilots in trouble before in IFR conditions. What an amazing journey to say the least. I can't think of anyone that deserves this upgrade more than Chris. He freely gives so much into aviation and asks for absolutely nothing in return. He has answered many questions for me and in a timely manner. I sport my CLEEEEEAR shirt proudly, throttle on guys!
This entire journey was Fantastic, from planning to Oshkosh, It is the best I have seen! Thanks Chris for the ride! Now to see the upgrading and then the trip back to Homer, AK. :)
Glad you made it. Looking forward in seeing the new panel. Hope you had some great Wisconsin Cheese and a Spotted Cow Beer to celebrate making to Oshkosh. Spotted Cow is made just north of me about 30 miles. (New Glarus WI) Hope the both of you and families are doing well. Take care - Be safe. Spin
What an awesome journey! Enjoyed watching you guys fly. It reminded me when I flow my neighbors turbo Bonanza from Concord Ca. to Oshkosh a few years ago! Keep it going!
You’re right being careful taking off behind a 757. Although is not a heavy aircraft by weight, it’s a heavy aircraft by wake turbulence. Great channel and content by the way. Keep it coming! Greetings from Chile.
All the breathtaking views were great but I have to say my favorite part of your journey was the amazing teamwork you and your buddy had together. Can’t wait to see the install.
Epic adventure guys! Thanks for recording your journey! It was a fantastic X country training for us. My dream flight would be to fly from Michigan to Alaska someday to do some mountain flying training with you.
Alright, Yukon Dan,s CLEEEER was much, much better. I'm satisfied with that. Now he's qualified to fly with Klondike Chris. Guy's...nice job. What an adventure, thank you again for taking us along. Always a Subscriber.😎
Yet another amazing video, amazing content and quality. Really appreciate all the work that goes into them. Look forward to seeing what becomes of 23U.
Congrats gentlemen re your safe arrival at Oshkosh very exciting times for your 172 going to be quite the transformation. Important to note the very prudent hold request you made at departure in Great Falls following the departure of a Fedex 757. The negative impacts of wake turbulence on much smaller air-frames cant be understated excellent airman-ship. Favorite portion of your flight down as a Calgarian had to be the flyby of downtown Calgary well done. Wishing you a trouble free upgrade cant wait for the updates.
I saw the video from aviation 101 - I hope we get to see the work you did - my arrow is in for avionics now with a GTN750 and GI 275’s so really looking forward to seeing that (when’s it coming I can’t wait!!)
Great trip it was fun to follow you guys. You are or we’re in the best of hands with Jessica I am a long time follower but haven’t seen her for a while. Safe travels
I was just scouring your website for an update on this journey. I've really enjoyed looking forward to each video and have learned a lot, thanks for documenting this.
You will love the GI275s. Just put two in my turbo beaver to replace the vacuum system. Should be making an appearance on the Garmin Aviation pages soon.
Love this series… slight disappointment that you didn’t land at KANE. I grew up “literally across the Highway” and we rode our bikes into the field to watch planes come and go… 45+ years later, I am now earning MY PPL… And KANE is a bucket list destination. Oh, and OSH, too. 😎
Another great episode. I look forward to the upgrade videos. I am not a pilot yet though I grew up with a pilot father and always wanted to fly. (life gets in the way sometimes) Now I have a renewed interest in learning. I also want to own my own plane. I would be buying something older and eventually upgrading it. Or that is what make sense to me. So watching this is really helping me stay motivated to go forward with this dream.
That John Denver.... 😂😂😂😂😂 Yeah excited to see the removal and installation of the instruments! A side I’m not familiar with seeing as a pilot Thanks guys and gal!
In the NE part of Great Falls along the Missouri River is the excellent Lewis and Clark National Park Service museum and a scenic path along the falls. Of course the water volume depends on the winter's snow pack and how much water they are releasing upstream from the various dams. There is also the CM Russell art gallery in town and an old NPS Indian Buffalo jump outside of town. I highly recommend all three. In the time of Lewis and Clark especially in the Spring the Falls along with the wildlife must have been breathtaking.
Wow, night VFR with no attitude indicator in sparse lit area is no fun. Glad the synvision on the iPad kept up. AHRS input from Stratus? Funny that it failed on the last leg.
My ADHD and/or OCD and/or general psychoness...would have exploded my brain with those keys dangling over the throttle and getting in the way. This kind of thing is why I am forced to drink decaf. Edit: That was a hoot. What a journey. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks guys Feel like I was with you. Maybe you could show, in detail, the planning on foreflight and how you used it throughout the trip? Thanks again, Billy
Chris, Great job on the video. You are in my territory now. I get down to KANE a bit. Minneapolis controllers are real good. You probably could have gotten a clearance through the Bravo. I use to land over at Flying Cloud and a few times they would send me straight in over KMSP. Happy new year and my 2022 be great for you and yours.
True, true. I thought I'd make it simple and just stay out of the way. It only cost us a few extra minutes. Wish we had more time flying around your neck of the woods.
@@angleofattack Well if you are ever this way again even without your plane we could take a whip around. Scenery is not going to be what we seen in Alaska but the UP of Michigan isn't bad.
Another great video. Expected to hear a bugle playing “Taps” as the Timbits bit the dust. I love ForeFlight but I wish they had a great deals report on 100LL the way that AirNav does. Omg, dying from the lake shapes!
Way too good!
Don't even have to watch any of it before I hit that like button...love following along!
That's my dude!
Epic journey. You’re definitely NOT “completely crazy”. No way. This is a fantastic series. Truly inspiring.
Thanks a ton! More to come.
Your "CLEAR!!!!" was hysterical.
A trademark!
Ive been out with a cold today and have just binged the entire series to keep me not bored :). Thanks for the entertainment.
I love hearing familiar ATC voices on world-famous channels! I also had a recent DG issue, too. The gyro was probably going bad, vacuum was still strong. Glad you made it safe.
That was an epic series! Congratulations of this achievement and thank you for taking us along. Can't wait to see the finished product.
Glad you enjoyed it! It's not over yet.
Amazing trip guys! Well done, great training for everyone watching!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I don't think I've laughed so much watching flying videos. Thanks for the ride. It's been fun.
Glad you enjoyed it! It just got better and better with Daniel on board.
Really enjoying these updates.

Great Job guys……looking foward.
I spit my coffee out with the hematoma turtle thing.
HAHAHA! Mission accomplished!
I have scheduled my discovery flight for the spring..I can't wait
Excited for you!
I loved your trip. You two bantering back-and-forth reminded me of a buddy of mine and myself on some long road trips. Cleeeaaaarr...lol.
Glad you enjoyed it
@13:45 They gravel the roads out there with red Scoria because thats all they have, also you flew right over Theadore Rosevelt Nation Park right afterwords. @30:00 in Glenwood, you flew over "The Millennial Farmer" farm.
41:19 that’s my home airport! That’s was unexpectedly awesome Chris!!
Way too cool! Glad you enjoyed it.
You landed in my hometown of Dickinson North Dakota! That was epic to see from someone else!
Great journey and great video! Exciting for you and us!
Us too!
From southern Ontario. Enjoyed your video and trip. Don’t stop.😁
Tes, we all had a very good laugh. Boy, they really stripped down 2324U.
Man the suspense was killing me!!! Finally this video has come out. I dont know if I could have held out much longer.
The holidays kinda got in the way!
It was that time of year. I hope you and your family had a wonderful holiday season. Watching your videos makes my focus on my goal of getting my PPL by the end of this year.
I feel like I'm watching an amazing TV show made by Discovery or History. It's so well made, I love it!
Thanks! Love to hear that.
Thank you for sharing man! Amazing journey you two embarked. I'll keep tuned.
Nice preview of your new panel on Aviation101 channel.

Thanks for posting this video set - it was informative as well as entertaining and just think it was -37 in Fairbanks today.
Glad you enjoyed it
That was an excellent journey, enjoyed every bit, can't wait to see the makeover.
Glad you enjoyed it
Enjoyed the trip with you guys. Thank you for the opportunity. Fly on!
This will be really cool to see disassembly, design and then reassemble of everything including the getting your hands dirty part.
I'm excited to show that part.
What an Epic watch you guys put together for all of us. I'm so happy you both made it there safe. Thank you both.
Thanks! We were very relieved to make it. Big, big trip with a lot of moving pieces.
Don’t you mean “happy happy happy happy, lucky lucky lucky lucky” 🤣🤣🎶🥁🎸

Believe it or not, we're not even past the halfway mark on this series!
Awesome journey and vid-thanks for sharing!
Our pleasure!
@27:29 the speed at which Chris turned his head to see the pooping butterfly was impressive.

@@angleofattack just keep hitting the time stamp on repeat. That should be the new edit for this clip!
as always, great content and can't wait to see the panel build!!! Thanks Chris and Daniel for sharing
BOOM! Finally got her done. Thanks for following along.
Cool stuff
Im following your adventure . Im from Brazil and i love your vlog. Thanks
All I can say is wow. What a ride.

I'm not a drinker but I loaded up on cheese. Always love the food and people in Wisconsin.
Been great to join you in the trip. I have been looking at G5s and G275s.
Right on! Stay tuned. I'll show you the perfect guide to pick between the two.
Loved every minute of your trip...vac pump lost it knowing it was the end ..lol
Saw the picture of your finished panel on their website, righteous!!! You obviously would recommend them ? Blue skies !!
Years ago I use to ferry aerobatic airplanes. Reminds me of those times other than I was solo. Good times except for the speed!

Really glad we stopped there. I love small little airports like that.
Wow, night VFR with no attitude indicator in sparse lit area is no fun. Glad the synvision on the iPad kept up. AHRS input from Stratus? Funny that it failed on the last leg.
Wow! That sits well tail down. Is that the load? I'm assuming that landing on your mains can be... tricky...? Good vid! Subbed.
It's because of the main sized, larger tires, all around. It has a 206 nosefork.
Of all the big iron, the 757 has the dubious honor of having the worst wake turbulence. Even large jets stay away! Good Call.
Well done boys, great to ride along with you on such a big journey. Looking forward to the rest of your trip!
I have enjoyed every step of the way. So excited to see the upcoming videos. 🙌
