    Hello my Kayak friend from far away! I am Frank from North of The Province of Québec Canada! Yes winters are like 25 feet of snow but in spring, summer t-il sept oct i have thousands of Lacs and Rivers and magnificiant canoe kayak camping sites all an hour max where i live! So like u i got my self a brand new 380x Explorer full delux with everything even a electric pompe to keep my energy for paddeling :) I have a suggestion for you cause u mentionned that like me u got the lower confortable seats! Yas your lower but the back support and the seat it self i just love it! But what i did i bouht my self a great gel coussin3 inches thick OMG my friend what a great experience!! First ur lot higher you never touch the side and better paddeling, secondo no back or legs, specialy the bum and the hips, tingeling at all even after 2 -3 hours sitting!! The good 1 cost me 50can$ so for you it is almost free and the best investement i did meside buying the 8 feet paddles! So i already hv 1 3 days expedition done, OMG the space in that Kayak and i mean i brought a lots of stuff being far in the nature you want to hv more then not enought and i end up helping other campers with missing stuff!! I dont sleep on a matress i bring a great retractable Cot up in 2 minutes 8 inches from the floor with a confy coton matress and my sleeping bag i slept like a baby all nights when i say others all crampy and back sorness lol! In resume that Kayak, Camping, cooking (Propane 1 full burner), fishing, sleeping, filming, first aidand clothing rain suit etc... my secret DRY BAGS i got 4 30 litters dry bags plus coller in tissu, 2X4 Gallons of drinking water and i still had space! I am 5'10 200 pounds and the 380x Explorer can take yop to 750 pounds! I am going back in another expedition 4 days this time on the Great river and reservoir of Kamika (you can ggogle it) all my stuu is ready ! Oh by the way all my stuff fit in my Veloster Ultra sport car so no places i cant go!! Anxious for expedition Kayaking camping and most fishing great fishes of the North! Thank for all your videos u done and will hopefuly do again and you have a new friend from the North watching and listening to your great adventure and advises! Sorry for my english my speking is a lot better then my speaking but i am sure you will figure it all! God Bless Frank !😇

      Thank you so much, Frank! Sadly life has been very busy the past couple of years, but I am eager to back on the river. There is nothing like a couple of days & nights on the river to free your mind & soul! I would love to get up to Algonquin someday! That place is on my bucket list!

      Thanks Annie! I didn't get to use the 300X last season. Life got in the way and I didn't get to whitewater at all. I'm determined to change that this season!

    You’ve got me psyched to get my Explore 300X back out for the season! I have that seat - yes, it sits low. But I combine it with the Sea Eagle cushion seat ($19) and it’s perfect!! Happy kayaking!! Enjoy the PA Grand Canyon! Looking forward to your videos!

    • @bertsadventures9974
      @bertsadventures9974  3 года назад +2

      I just did EXACTLY that! It will be perfect and I can just remove the cushion when I go to real whitewater runs.

      Thanks for the tip on the cushion seat. We are still awaiting our 380x with the high seats so we will find out for sure whether we need a cushion or not. ;)

    Is have camped there anyways, seems like lots of room to spread out a bit and set up away from them for one night. Though, sometimes you get bad vibes from a camp and best to move on. Good video, thanks for sharing.

      Thanks Scott. I think if they had been there and I met them, then perhaps I would have stayed, but I wasn't going to setup with them not around and roll the dice that they would be o.k. when they returned.

    Nice one.. the Thames here is slowing down nicely.. been out about 6 times in the 385ft.. slowly refining the process / what I take and don’t etc all good. BTW.. heard you mention Cisco.. I worked for them from 1999 to 2016 based out of the uk 👍

      That's awesome re: Cisco! I've been here since 2005. I wonder if you know a mate of mine, James Lee. He was one of the Channel guys in UK. Pretty good guy other than being a Gunner :)

    Also in regards to the new seat that looks like the ones I have that came with the “pro” package. I'm 6'2 and I feel too low in the boat when I use mine. I'm considering a purchase of the inflatable ones for the increased ride height. I'm in decent shape and paddling for long periods in that seat lower in the boat causes me some back pain especially on flat water going against the wind. Rivers it seems okay on but I think it's a recipe for some back problems. That's only my experience though

    • @bertsadventures9974
      @bertsadventures9974  3 года назад

      I don't like how low you sit with this seat either, but it is great for whitewater. If you go to the Sea Eagle website they sell a sqare cushion that is the same material as the inflatable high back seat. I use that under the black pro seat for flat water paddling and it is great!

    Are there any high seat options for the 300X? Looking to possibly get this model, but wanted a higher seating seat.

    • @bertsadventures9974
      @bertsadventures9974  Год назад +1

      There are two options. They have the deluxe seat which is inflatable and raises you about 4", but the back support isn't as good. What I prefer for flat water paddles is to use the high back black seat and I have a cushion under it which raises me up. Best of both worlds. Awesome support and elevated sitting position. Good Luck!
