Oh, how this musical era made me who I am today. The freewill and creativity was lost somewhere along the way. Bands like Gentle Giant just didn't care much if you didn't love their stuff, what mattered to them was that they loved it... and so did I.

@@thomassicard3733 It´s some kind of a common harmonic pattern that´s usual in current respectively 70´s music, the way the second line of the verse ends on different and especially these notes. Therefore it´s somewhat predictable which is interesting and strange cause the song in its entirety, the vocal melody sounds so medieval and out of this/our world.

I already knew the band back then, but not The Power and the Glory. When I first heard this special tune I remember thinking "their music and capability of doing it is absolutely limitless - it´s a universe of music, and it´s designed perfectly". Never had that hopeful experience with any other band, although there sure were other good ones too - no doubt about that. But not with that astonishing variety. "Great expectations", so to say.

I really like this song but does it bother anyone else that the vocalist missed his cue for the second verse at 00:34 and had to rush the line? Really ruins that part for me

Kelly, I'm not sure what you mean by 'missed his cue'? You do realise this is an album release and not a live performance. If it was wrong, they wouldn't have released it 😆

@@GGBatigol I do realize this is a studio album, I’m not stupid. And I mean “cue” as in musical cue, as in the place where it makes sense musically for him to enter. He’s late, he rushes the phrase, and doesn’t end where he’s meant to. It sounds incorrect, and it IS incorrect. Because this is a studio album, it leaves me scratching my head as to why they left it in like that. Maybe they liked the “raw” element? But it’s still a mistake.
