Dam it you snuck it in on me LFS had a great event today. So even though nine inches of snow falling today the speaker made it and four of us besides the owner and staff was able to get their. The speaker from Oase still did a tremendous job and Oase bought lunch for everyone.👍

if I may, I would like to ask a personal question. Of coarse I understand its personal, so no offense taken if you don't answer. But, I would like to inquire as to the significance of the tattoos that you have? Specifically the one on, what appears to be, your left forearm (watch arm if camera is inverted lol.) great info as always man. still loving all the content. you are one of the creators that inspire me on my own channel content as well as my future fish room plans.

Then blue one? It is a Finnish symbol called Hannunvaakuna for good luck/wards off evil spirits. Can’t you tell by my features, I have Finnish heritage?

So for space I went with 30 gallon storage bins for pleco debating doing like a koi farm but if it's outside I have temperature problem but I want to breed enough for 3 local stores. Pleco I seem to get away with alot growing out just daily 10% water change ,weekly vacuum I'm just wondering how big of tanks I'd need to grow out enough for 3 stores and not have all my eggs in one basket? Just one store could sell over 100 a week so 😅 I'm gonna focus on 1 store but aim for 3 in future any ideas would be appreciated.

I grow out fish for my local fish store. They give me a great price for them because they can sell large ones for a good price. It's a good use of extra tank room!

Hi Michael, love your videos. I have a quick question pertaining to tank sizing. I’m working with limited space in my house currently, but I’ve decided to set up a fish room nevertheless. I have a lot of strains of guppies, and although I’d prefer them to all have 10 gallons this would be too space consuming for what I’m working with. Would 5 gallon tanks suffice for tanks for each strain of guppy? Thanks.

Also abit of additional information. Not only do I have 5 gallon strain specific tanks, I’ve also setup separate 5 gallons for each strain of fry.

Can it be done, sure, but it will be harder to maintain.

How many water changes per week will you suggest on grow out tanks? Currently, I’m doing every other day or daily water changes on my ancistrus grow outs, to which they seem ok with. That being said, can you give me an additional tip or two on how not to suck up the fry, aside from being overly cautious.

I would water change when the nitrate reaches a predetermined amount, as an example 40 PPM. Use ridgid airline as your vac.

I’ve been breeding for a year now (new to the hobby a year ago as well as breeding, 95% self taught) and I’m running into a problem with one of my grow out tanks. I have feeder guppies that I did not plan on breeding but they do in there, Venezuelanus Orange Cories, and Super Red Bristlenose Pleco fry as well as Blue Velvet Shrimp. They’re in a 30 long which for the amount of fish I know is probably small (there’s around 200 fish) and all of a sudden the tank uncycled and I have no idea why. The parameters were fine a few days ago and now there’s some nitrites and very high nitrates. I plan on doing a water change tonight and then checking the parameters tomorrow. Do you know why this could’ve randomly uncycled?

Hold on, let me take out my crystal ball............it says it could be any number of things, but most likely your BB colony is too small for the bio load. Perhaps you should invest in more filtration for BB, like sponge filters, maybe a seeded sponge filter from www.michaelsfishroom.com
