So interesting. I love Steven's dancing and never tire of watching him but hearing what he had to say showed the depth of the man. Not too introspective, not too self obsessed, wanting to be a good dad and outstanding in his profession. He has a lot to give to The Royal Ballet, guiding it into a great future.
Last Friday i went to see Steven dance the role of Prince Rudolf in Kenneth MacMillan’s Mayerling at the Royal Opera House. Knowing that he had had such a horrific injury it was a joy to watch his flawless unique heartbreaking brilliant performance . Mayerling is the most challenging role created for a male principal, not only testing their skill in dance but also demanding acting that shows the character sink into depths of despair with tragic consequences. McCrea nailed it ! Watching this interview, its a pleasure to listen to this intelligent young man who has returned in full glory but fully understands that there will be another life after dance which he has prepared himself. In many ways he should be an inspiration for other dancers and athletes as he tells us of his return and how he has expanded his education. Bravo Steven, you deserve applause from all of us !
He's amazing! I work casually at the ROH and have seen him many times on stage - phenomenal artist! What a gift to have him share his wisdom with us :)
Bullies are everywhere, Steven! And bullies-CHILDREN-are already budding sociopaths or psychopaths! I’m an educational psychologist who was bullied greatly all the way to adulthood and our oldest son was bullied terribly, too, and in the course of continuing education for my profession I read that the social skills programs I and other educators had been breaking our backs to do on top of everything else we had to get done….was just making the bullies _BETTER BULLIES!!!_ They proliferate bc one or both of their parents were antisocial as children and passed their genetic material, antisocial attitudes and antisocial behaviors on to their kids, and you can literally do family constellations for generations!! We aren’t going to get past bullying and other terribly damaging antisocial behaviors with drugs or therapy, bc there is stunning, very convincing research showing that the brains of psychopaths are structurally different in discrete areas governing behavioral and emotional regulation, among other things. So, bullying is still a major social issue which needs to be solved and, unfortunately, most billionaires are also wolves in sheep’s clothing….psychopaths!

My favorite Romeo. I followed your recovery and watched you return on stage. You are an admirable man.

Love this interview including the expressive faces. Great host. Am now definitely a fan! ❤
Why doesn’t Steven mention his wife??
It is a shame you could not be bothered to get his name correct in this video title.
Maybe a superb interview is what counts
