To have a downswing, you need to be a winning player in the first place...
Nope, you just need to have some money and then lose it like airball.
I wouldn’t call this a downswing, I would call it a horrible losing player continuing to lose
Dude has never had an upswing
It’s not a downswing when you don’t have an established win rate at this level game.
Little hint Nik you slowly move up in stakes after establishing solid win rates on many many hours and hands played.
He never established himself as a winner on a solid sample size I bet at 10/20 let alone 25/50 or 100/200 +
Silver spoon mentality
Then to be dumb enough to boast about his losing streak makes him even more the victim and others abuse him even more
Big idiot
@@jarrodfultonwhen a producer is producing it's stupid to rub his loses in his face.
It's just a down swing dumbass and we all know downswings eventually turn to upswings if the money holds out.
@@OneOut1 dang, u must be airballs number 1 fan....
I'm not a poker player, but my read on Airball is that he probably had some early success due to his willingness to pile ridiculous sums of money into the middle. However, people caught on to what he was doing, and now these crazy bluffs and unorthodox plays are -EV.
Curious to see what thoughtful poker players think about Airball.
good point, eric perrson is another one who throws his stack around, (kinda like " throwing your weight around") it,s gotta be hard calling a half million dollar bet.
Definitely he probably dominated low levels where his huge bankroll made it a lot easier to punt buy ins
exactly! great insight . @@JASON19000
Thoughtful players think he isn't good. He played Berkey hu and lost $1m and still thinks he was the better player. Betting on its own doesn't accomplish wins. His name and reputation has literally got airball in it. Now what he should do is study theory, nit it up, get called with all his value bets and make back some of the millions.
Ask Berkey he’ll tell you. 😬
Is it really a 'downswing' when you just go and donate your money over and over?
Nah its called winrate
Facts….
Sure is. Perpetual downswing.
He is so rude to other players that it makes this fun to watch. Also, they are on to his bs plays.
I hate when he touches other players' chips. Personal space violation, man!
Any video watching Nick airball lose is an instant click
Lol explains why this random makes videos about him.. how is this guy judging how someone plays poker? Nik is far from the best but he's out there playing..not making videos on a losing poker player for clout
Nick Airball is an amazing player
to have at your table
😂😂😂
Everyone's favorite stacker.
his clothes are getting more average every stream.. starting by wearing the gucci and prada and in this most recent photo a tee he got from Ross
Threw away $8 million of his families trust just to look like a fool on stream? Genius
I can't imagine how embarrassed his parents/grandparents must be. They worked so hard for the money most of their lives just to see this idiot blowing it left and right on stupidity. Unbelievable.
And still going !!!
That's poker baby
Yes!: this is a sad clown bus
Facts…..
I'm a simple man. I see Nik doing something crazy, I click the like button.
you are a boring man , you see something that has been done to death & you copy it .
"Daddy, can I have a few more millions fwom my twust fund, pwease?"
He is going to need pwetty pweases soon. :)
One of the issues people who bluff a lot run into is they believe they are being bluffed way more than they are
Yes! The compulsive liar who doesn't trust anyone.
this is facts
Airball has bought into his own hype.
He’s just reaping the karma he sowed. I’ve never seen another poker player talk more trash to his opponent after stacking them. The worst table etiquette I’ve ever seen.
He’s actually a really good sport when he loses, but the absolute worst winner. Fortunately he doesn’t win much.
@@loganlasvegasso he is a good loser and a bad winner? lol
This vid popped up on my recommended, and I didn’t even realize I had subbed to your channel sometime ago. More content please. This is good stuff.
Thanks! Will do!
Something tells me Rob isn't going to be on Airball's Christmas card list this year.
When you have a shirt that says "poker is my philanthropy" 😂
That Part 👏
This isn't a downswing, this is just a bad player. He's involved in hands he should never have seen the flop with. I Love players that refuse to fold, even when they know they're beat.
Still a downswing when he is losing and it is so lovely.
The big question everyone would love to have answered is where the f*** does Airball come up with $8 million liquid to blow on poker? We know it ain’t “investment banking” because 25 yo investment bankers ain’t making that kind of money and young investment bankers ain’t leaving promising, lucrative careers in order to donk of millions of dollars on the felt.
His parent must be very very rich if he can blow 8 million and they dont care..To be able to blow 8 million and not care you have to be worth what at least 200 million
definitely more. if i had 200k and find out my son blew 8k ill be pissed as fuck. Maybe it would be like they made 8M in a month so losing 8M over a span of a year just feels like normal expenses lol@@chadwellington2524

In a game where there's only 4 streets of decisions to make, it's kinda hard to make 5 mistakes in one hand. That was pretty incredible.
A Very Wise Man Told Me, And I Listen To Him, "A Fool And His Money Were Lucky To Meet In The First Place!"
Nik is the dream opponent. He hasn't played poker for very long, he has a ton of cash he's made outside of poker and he's literally learning how to play when he's playing high stakes. Sit back, play a nice solid game and collect Nik's money at the end of the night.
I showed this video to my 10 year old daughter, who's now been studying poker for about 6 months. Her reaction was: 'I'd love to play him, I'm sure I could win lots of his money'. hahah. Ohh man, I laughed for some time. Thanks Rob, great content as always!
lololol!!
@christopherpaolino9607he’s teacher her a game dude relax.
Keeping your daughter away from a card deck would be wise lol
Clearly a joke. Teaching a child poker would be so destructive to it's developing domamine pathways, if it's true you might as well teach her the oldest profession while your at it. She's going to need to fund a hardcore gambling addiction somehow.
Well done teaching kids to gamble properly should be on the ciricculum! If they learn to approach any gambling game with the knowledge of statistics and math then it would lead to a massive decrease in problem gambling in adults
I just came to read the comments. Come one guys, lighten up on him. Without him sponsoring the big game streams they could very well go away. In any singular poker session if you look at the distribution of winners and losers it's always roughly the same. In a full table game with 9, you will have 2-3 winners for the session, 1-2 break even players, and the rest are losing. The top 3-5 spots in these big games each session will vary and be filled with the good players. Those good players will sometimes break even, and every now and then lose. But those good players will change their game selection if they don't always have a line up of fish to fry like Nick. The game needs him.
I play 5/5 NL. 1k buy ins. I've gone on 10k downswings at the very most. And that was me playing completely tilted and running bad. However, losing 80 buy-ins or even 40 buy-ins over a short course of a few months you can't really say its a downswing. This is a player who simply is delusional of his skill or underestimates the variance and skill it takes too make it as a professional poker player.
- A professional poker players thoughts.
Thanks for your thoughts. Very illuminating
The variance of these games are very different than your average 5/5. They play loose and splashy to look good on TV, usually very deepstacked, while your game is most likely a nitfest 1-200 deep. Live low stakes cash is the ultimate smooth sailing format, basically every other poker game is multiple times swingier. That being said Airball is a whale lol
Notice that some players who stick it to fish airball are no longer playing for HCL: Stanley, Rampage, Bill Klein but also Huss and Tom Dwan (who got fish Wesley). Doug Polk said that he is not wanted at HCL by the "inner circle"- you can guess who that is
I thought Airball and Doug are friends? I dont understand why Hustler is giving Airball so much pull...the dude is a total narcissist annoying douche.
Surprised Mariano is still getting invited. Its really a bunch of trashy degens. And that has its own appeal, but It doesn't hold a candle to legendary shows like the million dollar game, or the big game
Praising the fish is very important in poker. This keeps them coming back with their money. You can praise directly or by giving attention. Good job everyone keeping the fish live.
Does Nik Airball not realize he is literally garbage at Poker lol?
At what point does he admit he's just not that good and quit? $10 Million? $20 Million?
airball the anti-hero, makes the stream more enjoyable for sure
Downswing??? 0:38 Poppycock!!! Nik Airball is a charitable organization dedicated to keeping the game of high stakes poker in the LA area alive and well! 🤗
$8 million upswing is right around the corner
Turn around Tuesday is next week
🤣
Listening to the commentators on HCL try to be nice is very entertaining
I personally believe this game is rigged...yes they want to win but they have side DEALS where they cover each other making a BIG SHOW.
If im down $800 I get nervous
right down 800 in a night and i start getting irritated even though i can lose it and be just fine lol
Funny the opening line from Airball on the first clip he’s quoting never underestimate how stupid people can be. Perfect.
JJ hand is a work of art
Great production and commentary. BUT I really don't understand what the big deal is. I normally have $10MM laying around in my 3rd floor walk up apartment to blow on Poker.
Airball if you’re reading this, stop playing the way you are. These opponents you play against regular study film, they won’t tell you but they do. They look at your play style, any tells you have, and over analyze all your tendencies and exploit. It’s a vicious game but you gotta change your play style. Become a knit if you have too. Be aware of your table image. Stop being targeted man.
He's gonna wind up in the same 55-gal drum as Ryusuke...
We only have 45 gallon drums
I like watching Nick in games but he doesn't seem to have any ability to change his game or make educated guesses,
How does he get to him being on an 8 mil downswing? HCL poker tracker has him up 186,000 after 100 episodes?
It only shows the streamed games. Nik plays unstreamed games in HCL, too.
The call pre w/ the K9o isn't completely terrible closing the action getting 5.5 to 1, imo. That said, ya gotta be very careful postflop and not torch $$ w/ 1 pair!
Yeah you can play the hand but have to play accordingly given this hand has huge reverse implied odds. Any straight can be losing to likely bigger straights. Flush need 4 on board and unlikely to get paid off. Hit top pair and multi way liiely losing to many better kings, sets or two pairs if get in bigger pots. Hard to get paid off big unless hit two pair vs AK exactly maybe KQ. Gotta keep pots smaller and use hand more as a bluff catcher. He is betting flop and turn on monotone board after multi way action like he needs protection. He is either crushed by ton of hands or needs to dodge hearts and aces. Keep it small and maybe call down if bad cards don't come. Betting just bloats pot with mediocre hand that can be nearly dead leading to tough decisions later. Compounding mistakes
@KaliAndy2 Pretty much spot on. If i have his hand i peel flop, on turn i can probably get away, especially if villain has been playing more on the snug side like the commentator says. Ya want dudes like Airball at the table though for action and to punt when you have the stones!
Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.
Hilarious how he acts like he's a great player when he claws back 0.001% of his losses.
NICE VID GLAD YOU BACK
To become a millionaire, first be a billionaire and then lend money to Nik
I still do not think he is on a 8 million dollar downswing that cant be right .. someone has to hire a private i to see where his money came from
Airball runs a diversion. Plays bad on stream so he gets invited to juicy private games, then crushes. Kinda like RDP.
Like how he crushed Berkey? 🤔
It’s weird since the poker trackers say he’s slightly up on hustler
Yea I don't get 8 mil down... Berkey got him for a mil but 7 more mil I haven't seen it
But he has played tighter recently and ran away from the table when him and dwan ran that plo week
Listen to vertucci podcast w him. Most of his losses come after hours or in private unstreamed games. The public only sees a fraction of airballs action. Probably less than 30%
Wish Garrett would come back to hcl and get rid of this clown
So the first awful hand Niik plays, why the hell wouldn't he consider leading the river when the flush comes in? I'm not saying it would have worked, but he didn't even consider it, after taking a horrible line from the start in this hand, including pre-flop???
He didn't have a single spade in his hand
Dear Airball, it's called a downslope now a downswing. RIP to your family's money.
Nik is obviously playing the heal role for HCL.
He has thrown his money around staking players which has given him the power to act like he’s the boss over everyone!
A heal playing a heal role!
0:48 hmmm indeed
$800 call to win $4300 from the 3B. I don't see how this is bad. Is he not getting better than 5:1 pot odds? The graphic says he has 26% to win... Is this not an easy pot odds vs hand odds?? 🤔
So who are the players on HCL that win consistently?
Dwan, Mariano, Andy, imo are probably all up on the show.
All the good players
"Mathematically I have to have it sometimes and I know you're a math guy."
I say that every time I'm all-in now.
According to hustler he’s about even at their casino I guess he plays else where also
Downswing = euphemism for "losing consistently".
Airbag: “same situation man, I don’t know what to do, sigh”
Myself: Don’t call king 9 offsuit, 4 way preflop and now you have, please shut up and fold your cards, save the 20,000, go home and review your game. Airbag!
you guys are missing the point of this. Airball received a lot of hotel suites and food comps. Not a bad trade off for 8mil spent. :)
That grotesque lump may have heard that professor but he certainly didn’t listen.
When he wins a hand and says “here you go bitch” and slurs insults at others in many other games I’ve seen him in. Nothing makes me happier than watching somebody lose his millions by being a bad player
subscribed. editing is on point.
I hope air ball continues On his mood
Why is Mariano range so wide??? and Nik's so tight? I am sorry but could you explain?
More of a punt than a downswing
"Whatever comes, I know you're gonna bet, Doug Lee." -- Kido Pham
Mariano was perplexed cause he should of fn bet, he would have got called by airball. He knew he adh
Down swing? This is train, at full speed, derailing into a nuclear power plant
turn your volume up dude. Always too quiet and need to [pump my Vol up
The interesting question is how a (former) accountant has this much of a bankroll?
accountant, books, handling the money, based on the job I'm just guessing you understand
It's not a downswing when you're playing WAAAYYYYY above your head. It's just attrition. He needs to go back to $2/$5 and figure out how to play...
Poker is his philanthropy
I feel like HCL is immoral in this situation. It's the first I've seen pros trick a whale into thinking he is a pro. They invite him onto podcasts and give him the illusion that he is a winning player. He even talks about what is good for the game and how to handle fish while being oblivious to the fact that the games run around him. It's a fucking shocking thing to see.
Nik has to be an uber rich kid not caring about lighting money on fire, its obvious he doesnt study the game, a dream for guys like Berks and other pros dipping into his trust fund
Where does he get his bank roll ?
You really can make a video about anything now a days
In all fairness the JJ hand against Mariano kind of makes sense seeing as how there are many hands Mariano could’ve been bluffing with and he’s more than capable. Example any up and down draw any flush draw any naked AK potentially AK suited etc..though I must say that river was an ideal spot for nik to jam and get Mariano to fold but oh well he’s a bum next
I really hate to see such a nice guy get financially ruined
Can you offer him some advice Jeff, he's more likely to listen to you. Tell him to slow up and make it more sustainable for everyone. Be so sad to see him go completely busto.
@@philphil9347 Airball needs to start crushing those $4.40s like Boski
I've seen Nic make some brilliant plays but, as with all aggressive players, when things start to go wrong it can lead to a sudden and complete loss of confidence, or just turn into a losing streak that never ends as you second guess yourself until the game drives you insane.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤It's time for a Nik Airball intervention.
Wow. Really interesting title considering his entire life is a downswing.
very quiet. turn up volume Rob.
Wow those bet sizings look like some free bar poker stuff 😂
Facts: Airbag, his parents are multi millionaires. He is not the best poker player in the world
Leave that to Phil Ivey, Tom Dwan, Doyle Brunson and Daniel Negreanu.
“ Daddy can I have another million, please? Here you go son, it’s all good.”
Isn’t Airball an investment guy? Who’s gonna give him their money or trust him to handle their investment? And how do you concentrate on any kind of work with $8mil down just lately. Crazy.
The truth hurts when you watch it !!!
He's a Punter 😂
Paid 100k by hustler casino
So he obviously doesn't care about money he's throwing away
He's not a very good player
By what metrics would be be considered good
He's a character which is why they pay him
It's not about how good a player you are on these streams
They're focused on appeal and/ or action players
I don’t think he can beat 200 NL online..
Sadly he needs to join equinox and admit he was never an “investment banker”. I hope people aren’t “investing” in his poker game. He’ll be out of the scene within a year
K9o is one of those hands that always gets you in trouble.
It's more what the pros call the fish at the table
You’re talking poker! Nik is an adrenaline freak! The addiction hit him like a brain storm! He’s a addict and wont stop until he loses all credibility
He is on a downswing because he is PUNTING away his money with massive overbets and nonsense plays lmfao
He’s loaded 8 milly is just like buying happy meal to us normal people for him 🤑
The look on Mariano’s face at 6:21 ….
Like “ wtf bro? Jacks? Really……”. 😂 😂 well played Airbag, well played.
Nik Airball #1 problem is his EGO!
when has he NOT been on an $8million downswing??
When he is on his way to a 10 million downswing,
My .02 in Airball is he's kind of a loudmouth a-hole and he used large sums of money to get into poker games, where people tolerate him because he's basically a cash machine for them. He threw his wallet around to bluff some decent wins, but in reality he's just buying friends until the money runs out and then we'll never see him again.
