You guys should definitely listen to Ani’s initial soundtracks.. He was king of Love Melodies.. It’s the last 4-5 years that he became a completely EDM- Mass BGM guy!!
It's been more like 10 years isn't it?his songs from 3 and vannakam chennai was great other than that one melody song comes here and there mostly it's mass EDM and bgm
@@cringeyguy7976 Naan Pizhai, Marakkavillaye, Thenmozhi, Etc. He has been giving good melodies constantly without a doubt. Only his EDM Mass stuff is highly appreciated and criticised at the same time.

My friends and I used to debate abt the fact that who is better as a overall composer ani or sana,so maybe I have compared him with sana and found out ani has lesser melodies, who do u think is better ani Or sana?
@@cringeyguy7976 Can’t compare them. SaNa is more authentic and raw. I’m a very big fan of SaNa. I think we can compare Sam CS with Ani coz they have worked similar type of movies and have a pretty similar style. Every composer is unique in a way. I wouldn’t say anyone is better than anyone..

NO NO. Indian 1 is not dated at all. It is very well grounded and relative to present now. Prbably the only grounded film of Shankar(May be because of Kamal) and undoubtedly best work of Shannkar by miles. Please dont miss it

Now ask the same question for Indian 2, can you listen and recognise Indian 2 songs after a few months. Would you even recognise?
This is bad for Anirudh standards, and definitely for Indian 1 standards.
It's okay to speak the truth without hate. We Indians should develop thick skin for valid criticism.
Anirudh has been a great composer in recent times and has indeed given some songs that stay forever. But of late his songs are immediate catchy but don't even stay for months unlike ARR's compositions which still sound fresh. The issue here I see is he works with some directors who leave him with his way like Lokesh (as per Ani's interview) and maybe Shankar might have influenced here to compose something like ARR's. This may impact his composing style to impress directors one time and sometimes working his own way another time. Don't know if my opinion makes sense but yes as a layman who watches movies and listens songs, I guess movies and their sequels must have the original composers if they are alive and working atleast for Indian movies. It works in Hollywood where a new composer may reuse the old theme and remix it well enough and still do good music for a sequel.
That is because of the nostalgic value attached to those songs for us 90s kids. We grew up listening to those songs and that music is a part of our lives in some or the other way. The same would be the case with current kids and teenagers who would listen to these songs as they grow. As an ardent ARR fan and with all due respect to both the composers, Ani is doing a great job with respect to the melodies. And I also don't think it is fair to compare a young upcoming composer who is trying to experiment and push boundaries to an established well renowned one who has already done it all.
I understand to some extent, but ARR was young and upcoming too when he composed Indian 1, in fact Anirudh has more successes and established right now than what ARR was in '95.
Nostalgia exists for great stuff :)
I still get your point, only time will tell, but initial impressions suggest these (Indian 2) songs are mediocre and wouldn't last a couple of years, let alone decades.
P.S. I like Ani and his music a lot, just not this album.
@srikanthjs Yes, I agree to this. When you compare this album with the rest of his previous works, this is certainly not his best.

This is approximate music at its best. The composer himself doesn't have a clear idea of what the tune ought to be (and even less, why so). And programming fast beats and note transitions doesn't equate to complex music. Yes, he seems to be channeling ARR in this song who has been equally guilty of all of the above in >90% of his songs in the last 15-20 years. No one is going to be humming any of these 'tunes' even weeks from now, forget years from now. At least ARR was sure of the pallavi and charanam tunes (vocal verses) in the 90's - his interludes, not so much even back then - they were just fillers.
BTW, just wanted to add how brilliant SaNa's background score was in Kalki - the incredibly quirky score actually made the 'comedy' scenes more than merely watchable. He brought tremendous amount of experimentation especially in a genre that was part science-fiction and part mythological.

Your information on the fan fight between the fans of the 2 composer's is incomplete and incorrect. So kindly refrain from making judgements on the matter based on half baked information. That kinda discourse will only add fuel to more confusion and animosity between the fans. This is not the song people are trolling Anirudh for, neither is "poor composition" the basis of the negativity.
I don't like the way the bass is used in this song. There's no drop anywhere to push the vocals to the front. It's like I can't catch a break!
It's definitely over produced. I agree with Rick here. AR Rahman score would have more clarity on each instruments sound. Ani music here sound like too much and becomes noisy
