I bombed 4 interviews. It's so humiliating that I don't even want to interview. Everyone says that failure is a learning experience, but it's a learning experience that I can do without.
So what did you do after switching careers?
@@parlor3115 I found out from the career counselor at my college when jobs were easy that you just apply at McDonald's and they hire you. Just make sure to leave your degree off your application if you apply.
Sure would be nice if I could succeed and learn lol
I thought I bombed my first interview. Ended up getting an offer for 130k a year plus equities. I have no idea how that happened.
@@IamAWESOME3980 You probably had an ability to work quickly and they could see it.
I’ve been stuck in the studying, building projects, applying for jobs cycle for more than a year now. Breaking into software development is really tough right now. I really appreciate your analysis and advice on this channel.
You guys are getting interviews :o
Thank you. It’s not only about interview but how we should do when we face failures. Hope I can do it
im getting these copyied pasted rejections 100+ times, at least i have experience now with 5 interviews 3 personality ones, 1 coding interview and 1 take home coding interview. I feel ready for that next opporunity and will take it to get my first job
meanwhile...beloved relatives despite gud intentions be like....
"daughter/son hav u heard abt our neighbours child he/she earns xyz....."
feels like a poisoned arrow.
yup... relatives acting like they care but just wna make sure ur not doing better than their kids. lol.
That shii stabs your heart & hurts inside...Ahhh
this guy is always speaking facts
Great videos! Keep it up.
I bombed the final round at Google for entry level SWE position. Come to find out that they were already slowing hiring last year in September and my interview was in December. It was not entirely my fault but also the fault of the job scene.
Edit: Something told me that they were not going to hire me anyway and after talking to someone who works for Google as a SWE - they told me that my suspicions were probably right since they knew that they slowed down hiring back in September.
Thanks for the advice , i needed this
thanks for sharing kev! if it's possible, would love to see how you prepared for the amazon leadership behavioral questions! thanks!!
Thank you for watching! And sure thing will do!
This is why I don't take coding challenge interviews on-site
Very encouraging! The place I'm stuggling with right now is how on earth to juggle all these important things that are necessary for that first job: side projects, coding challenges, networking events, one on ones, and of course applications. Plus doing the job I want to leave behind.
Does anyone have tips on that balance?
Dude same. I too am struggling with the juggling....Would really like tips and suggestions for this. Always seem to miss out on one of the many things you mentioned due to mismanagement or improper prioritization
Honestly, a lot of companies just hire the best actor, not the most skilled candidate. All you need is to put on a really fake personality for an hour and impress the hiring manager during that time and you'll land almost any job, even without the skills/experience
I ended my contract last week and started job searching right after the day I left the job. It's been only a week but I feel like I've already burned out with all the rejections and ghostings. Wonder how you guys put up with these stresses for more than several months. Hope you guys will end this absolute crap and find your place soon.
p.s. I love your Soju sticker on your Mac KC!
Wow I did the same it's being 3 weeks. And IT SUCKS 😢
Hi Kevin, been a long term fan of your channel. Have a question, how to make topic related scene in video? like the video from 1:55 to 2:00, is there a software or tool about it?
I am done jumping tru hoops for these "Big" tech companies. Its ridiculous to have 5 6 interviews for a damn job 😂 + it adds just stress to your life. If thats the goal to be burned out even before you get the job thrn i dont even want the job 😁
I hear ya but how do you stay afloat as far as finance and paying your rent and food etc ? are you doing okay and how much time before you get desperate of finding a new job?
Get a job
The government currently gives companies a 15% tax break to hire a foreign worker. We need a new administration, the current one will do anything CEO's are willing to pay for, that all he understands. And he has thrown your career under the bus.
Hoping to meet this guy someday and discuss the state of software job market over coffee.
Using UPSET FACES on intro videos is not very big pleasure to see for people even when u have good content
