    You said nothing offensive about Italy itself yesterday. Beautiful country, wonderful people & culture, rich history & great food. To comment that you find a method of doing something is illogical, confusing or frustrating shouldn't cause anyone offence: it's just a fact. Keep on being yourself x

    Most Italians have a love/hate relationship with Italy, primarily along the same lines as yours. They hate the bureaucracy, the government, and the length of time it takes to get anything done. But they also love the rich history, the natural and architectural beauty, the food, the music and I could go on. Blatant patriotism is not a typical feature of the people. They see the good and they see the bad.

    those tiny wells (grey water derivation boxes) are quite important grey water pipes over the years acumulate dirt and nasty stuff arround them( worst in calcarium geografical areas), they provide easy access to the pipes in different stages to clean them easely, the contracter in my house cheaped out on those and caused a lot of issues a few years ago we had to hire another contracter to add more derivation boxes and to fix the pipes.

    If anyone's done a construction project, they know how frustrating it is...no matter what country you are in. We did a house in California and it was a total nightmare, almost put me in the mental hospital. I found myself wanting to blow up certain places and even said it out load to a few people who reminded this wasn't a good thing to be saying. Anyway - I just chalked your comments up to re-model frustration. But I will say some Italians may take offence but I'm sure going forward you will keep this in mind. That was a busy day! No need to spend any time at the gym. ;-) I'm curious about the triangle over the bathroom door. Are you putting in a translucent panel to let in some light?
    Bureaucracy can move very slowly in other countries, too. Workers in the building trades are booked up many months in advance almost everywhere, so they don't always come when expected. It's a good thing that you can do some of the work yourself. You need lots of patience with a project like this!

    My son, it pains me to watch you apply the drywalling compound. It took me a long time to learn as well. Instead of using the dish cloth method, try a large sponge and work it in a circular motion. this will also help you get rid of the excess compound residue. The corners, there is no getting away from the sanding blocks, however, I think the key might be to put the compound on sparingly as well do one side of the corner at a time. The paper corner should stay in place by putting a small layer of compound on first. Wish I was there to help you. Good Luck. All of this is just a suggestion.

    • @VillaAroldi
      @VillaAroldi  Год назад +1

      Not sure I understand you correctly, I used a sponge, but in order to use it the job must first be decent, there cant be too much to remove with the sponge method. (come to think of it. It was probably a time lapse and therefore hard for you guys to see).
      Unfortunately I could not get hold of the paper corners here in Italy so I am using all metal even though it's a complete overkill.
      Thank you for the cornering tip, Ive never tried that but will absolutely try it in the corners I have left! 🙏🏼

    • @VillaAroldi

    • @margarethkoops8119
      @margarethkoops8119 Год назад

      @@VillaAroldi they don't want to make any connections or splits in small circular junction boxes up on the wall (like they use to do) or behind sockets.
      Installation wise a bigger junction box is much easier, also when you want to change anything in the future.
      Problem is, those boxes are ugly...
      In our upstairs appartement we managed to have only 2 and sort of hidden behind a door.
      The appartement downstairs is still in use by nonna and we are not allowed to renovate, yet. 🙄 All the wires are connected in the wall inside little round boxes, and the stuc is on top of them.
      However, we did make a new fuse panel behind the central power input. From zero fuses (no eart leakage, no other other circuit breakers), we went to 4 earth leakage and 10 normal circuit breakers. We have another fuse panel upstairs and outside in the lavanderia/taverna.
      Maybe over the top, but so handy when you need to have some work done.

    quello che per te può sembrare illogico per un impiantista è la regola come andrebbe fatto un lavoro, regole che vanno applicate per legge e regole fisiche e tecniche, che per chi non è del mestiere possono sembrare piuttosto astruse, poi che tu non vuoi farle applicare, queste regole, sono affari tuoi, e come già ti avevo detto un'altra volta, non ti lamentare se un impiantista non vuole lavorare per te e ti pianta in asso con il lavoro.

  • @Stefano2856
    @Stefano2856 Год назад +1

    I apologize if I was a little rude in a previous post, but I can't stand people criticizing my country without knowledge of the facts.
    Building is made up of rules and tradition.
    The rules refer to the UNI standards (equivalent to the German DIN) which regulate every technical aspect of building (read as: to save yourself from lawyers and courts).
    For tradition there are "only" three thousand years of art and knowledge.
    There would be a third aspect: bureaucracy, but this transcends logic 🤔

    • @VillaAroldi
      @VillaAroldi  Год назад +1

      Yes absolutely and I understand that otherwise all of the old beautiful buildings would be ruined like they are now with the 110% and people putting over 15cm of insulation over them making the windows look horrible and way to inwards in the house, it's very sad to see.
      I have never seen such craftmanship when it comes to our Muratore for example, but the use of wells for the drainage is ridiculous, as well as the number of junction boxes for electricity, there really is no need for it, at least not this many of them so I would say that is just a bit of over regulation.

    • @Stefano2856
      @Stefano2856 Год назад

      For the many "pozzetti", in addition to tradition (see the "cloaca maxima" in Rome ;-) there is a very simple reason: Italians don't like putting their hands in the poo; they are ugly, but when there is a problem they are a panacea.
      In countries where more grass and less concrete and/or stone are used, it is easier to dig to solve the problem.
      For junction boxes the explanation is just as simple, Italy was a poor country and copper cost too much to get directly to the main switchboard with all the lines, the economic reason no longer exists but traditionally we continue in the same way.
      Good work.

    • @VillaAroldi
