Congratulations on beginning phase 2! With all the moldings and trim you need to duplicate, you should buy yourself a contour gauge. Just press it into the shape you want to duplicate and it will give you an exact copy. It will save you a lot of time and frustration.
Thanks for the tips! We do hover need to build some sort of contraption that you can pull along the edges when making the new window trims etc. Need to speak to someone about it how they want to go about and maken them.

The architecture of the villa and paint is so lovely. I can't wait to see the progress as you go along. Thought: Keep the study to yourself and put the murphy bed in the stables. You already have a guest room upstairs and added guests would love having the stables as an accommodation. It has everything they need and would afford long staying guests some privacy and space. Just a thought. 🙂

Well, the downstairs int the stables is getting turned into a gym and sauna, as for the murphy bed it's the only place downstairs for a bed if someone visits that does not like climbing stairs up and down all day can stay so that's the reason for it, I am sure it won't get much use though.

It has been a slow summer with way too much heat for doing any heavy work, but autumn has arrived and we will slowly start!

Just go and do it, but be prepared to have delays and many frustrating days of just waiting. Italy is absolutely beautiful but the bureaucracy is something else. 😂

Absolutely, there will be plenty more of that coming since we are doing some work to some of them, like the hallway, it's getting cleaned and we are also mending a crack and so on, so stay tuned, there will be more details of the ceilings.

Thanks for the tour of the villa. I just had a thought as you showed the room. What if you took the attic space and made it into a master suite? Besides a large bedroom, you would have space for a bathroom and walk in closet/dressing room. That way you could have 2 guest rooms and a bathroom on the floor below. Can’t wait to see more!
Yes that would be an idea but at the same time we wouldn't have much natural light as we won't put many more windows in than what we have right now plus it would be another flight of stairs to climb all the time (and especially a spiral staircase that we are putting in). 😂

Moving the contents of the villa to the stables must have been exhausting. I hope you hired some local strong backs to move the bulk of it and stash it in the stable loft. I look forward to seeing the facade rendered, painted, and with the reproduction decoration. I recall that you have new windows ordered, and I hope that there's no prolonged delay in getting them.
It has been back braking to move all the stuff and we still have quite a bit of things there to move, like heavy furniture etc.
Windows are on order but that's a whole new chapter of pain, no idea when they will arrive...

Is it just me, or is there no headroom on that stair to the basement? 😮
It's very low, we might rebuild it and shit it to the side a bit which would give us a few more steps and therefore a bit more headroom. It was basically never used, the woman who lived in the house, sealed it off during the 2nd World War to protect herself from the Germans.

No we don't, it used to belong to the house and we had the option of buying it too but decided not to do it.

Will you remove the ugly Aircon construction in the huge staircase/mainentrance ?
Yes we will, we have to do some sort of new construction for a newer system though, so we are looking into what options we have.
@@VillaAroldi That's great! Btw. I always admire the thin stair steps of Italian villas. And in your villa they are especially thin, I've never seen them this "airy". Quite amazing!

It is so nice to see you back and to see all the progress despite of set backs. One thing I do not miss is your camera waving from side to side, up and down with the tremendous speed while you are walking backwards and forwards . It makes me sea sick. I have notices that every Italian renovation I watched has the tendencies to do that. Waving cameras. I had to unsubscribed from few vlogs for the same reason. It was fine at the beginning but for the last few vlogs it is getting worse. Please move the camera slowly or fix it. Some of us want to enjoy the story of renovation without getting ill. Sorry for that. I like you guys and wish you were more more considerate towards some of your viewers. Sorry have to skip this one.
