@@fishmrinc Its manipulating the room to get attention on her. A toddler tactic. She asked him to stop playing prior. He doesn't and basically ignores her. Once she starts crying his face says "fuck I guess I should stop". He's forced to react.
Jesus, he shouldn't have had to deal with that. And she's so selfish, to put that on so many people, and distract the streamer from his world record attempt. A suitable place to talk about that would be a group therapy session, not when you're a damn GUEST witnessing a speedrun.
When all you're raised on is video games/anime and the internet you have no sense of self awareness. Probably no support system so she doesn't understand how to open up to others in a healthy way. Immensely cringy though.

Spouting bigoted shit based on biases and prejudices that you have already established is generally a bad thing to do, and generally does not make you many friends. Jokes aside, though, I've been raised on video games, for the most part. Super Nintendo, SNES, N64, PS1 and pretty much everything up until the Xbox 360. Also had a virtual boy, and my eyes still hurt to this day. Not to mention having a PC and getting in to World of Warcraft in 2004. Even with all of that, I still went to school, had friends, and did normal shit my entire life. Hilariously, I actually met a girl in WoW in 2013, we hit it off, and she moved in with me 3 months later. We've been married for 4 years, and I am eternally grateful for having met her; if we both weren't nerdy as fuck, we never would have met. If anything, being raised on video games has given me more friends over the years. A few of my best friends, that I've known for years, are people I met online. Some people just don't have it as easy, simply put. I don't think we should really sit here laughing at how awkward she is, and now this moment is immortalized forever. I can't even imagine the mental anguish she would go through reading these comments. She certainly has issues, and this was definitely the improper setting to share her story. Perhaps we can all learn from the experience, and be better for it.
@@DefensorsPacis I think you might have misconstrued what I meant man. But that's on me. I've been playing video games my whole life. I just mean this girl seems like she might lack a life learned outside that. As she clearly lacks some social awareness. I've made tons of my friends through games or enjoying anime. yeah, it was very clear that nobody noticed she had been knitting, so why would she even bring it up? not to mention that your not even supposed to say anything let alone tell stories like that while watching a run.
This is honestly so sad. Shes so socially awkward that she doesn't realize that this is an inappropriate thing to do. Says a lot about her upbringing and her mental state overall. It is also a clear sign that she has no self awareness, and could possibly be a narcissist. There are so many people like this in the world too. Oh well, thats life.
Nah it's hilarious and I'll tell you why. Everyone in that room is extremely socially awkward or just does not care so nobody really aknowleges her which to me is just comedy gold

Why in the middle of a run? There is SO MUCH downtime for her to tell her story but knowing what event she is at she asks for the runner to stop wich totally makes her story meaningless and loses the whole point of telling it. Sad.
If she'd waited, we wouldn't have been forced to hear her, and thus would have never heard her. I imagine she's possibly a very sweet and nice girl, but fuck right off, trying to hijack the Zelda block.
I think she said something about it being the last time she will be able to knit with yarn from her grandma so yeah I guess that's why she brought it up when she did.
@@harryballs6652 But she... Could've waited lol. Like, until there was downtime. Wait for some dialogue, you only need a minute or so. For her to be this oblivious, something is very, very wrong.
The thing about the video is, the whole premise for her stating that is flawed. She doesn't have cancer. There's nothing to say she is going to get it... if you have cancer in your family, there's nothing to say you will get it, and you can't make predictions like "there's a 50% chance".
It's especially autistic when you remember that half of all people get cancer at some point in their lives. Literally half the room is going to get it but she's making it all about her lol
You more likely to have cancer if the parent had suffered cancer at some point BEFORE getting pregnant. But yeah you're right, it's not something you can be absolutely sure about. You can say "oh I am more likely to suffer it" but can't say "I will die of cancer" or "I have a 50% chance of dying of cancer" because, you indeed don't know.
My grandfather died of cancer way before I was born. But he had stomache cancer caused by toxic that he breathed in where he worked (4 colleagues of him got it too). So, it really depends on what kind of cancer her parents had and if it truely is genetic@@skullsNhorror
Blue-haired dude in the front is the most conflicted guy in the room lmao, clearly has a big heart and feels sorry for the girl, but is also completely aware of how inappropriate the timing is. He represents us all
200% attention seeking, no doubt in my mind. That "I have a 50% chance of dying from cancer" is proof of it, besides the whole scenario in general. There is no possible way she can know she has a 50% chance, or any percentage of a chance, of dying from cancer. Her whole idea of this is based on her grandmother's death, which she used as a crutch to garner sympathy for. Awful and selfish person.
I mean, she obviously took her knitting to the speedrun thinking that the guys there would be thirsty enough to ask her straight away what she was knitting, the perfect chance to cash her little story in for pity bucks and attention, but it didn't happen.
I don't think so bro she doesn't begin to look or act like someone trying to lure in thirsty guys. Dressing that way and knitting at a speedrun convention is kind of the opposite of that
Imagine that kind of shit during open heart surgery or something. One of the nurses goes “so idk if you guys have noticed, but I’ve been knitting this whole time. I have cancer.” (Looks at doctor trying ever so carefully to extract the heart) “ummmm, can you stop?”

In fact she said she has "50% chance of dying from cancer" judging by her family tree, this girl doesn't even know if she'll ever have cancer yet randomly trauma dumps these speedrunner event attendees lol
not necessarily. many people use laughing in order to cope with an awkward situation when they can't take the uncomfort of just sitting through it. it's easy for the other person to interpret that as disrespect but most of the time they aren't being disrespectful, they are just overwhelmed with the situation

Used to work for a nonprofit that hosted events for kids like these who didn’t socialize often and were very introvert. We were meant to help them develop social skills in social settings etc. what I came to learn is that a lot of them lack a sense to read or even recognize social cues. Even to the most basic social behavior it was difficult for them to grasp it and let alone implement it.
@@Justpassingby204 it really did depend on the individual. Some kids it was simple we would first find out what sort of game they liked. For example if they enjoyed a table top game like monopoly, we would have them play in a group but play a game within a game by having them intersect during the game not just play in silence. So for example when it was your turn we would ask you to share a fact of yourself anything worked, like a kid saying I have a pet dog then we would slowly see them open up as they got more comfortable they’d ask questions or even start up conversation amongst themselves. You have to be creative, by putting them in what would be considered a casual safe space they could be more likely to speak up then we slowly grew the size of the groups by having the kids interact in larger settings.
A little unfair to call all of them socially inept, when she was being so hyperbolic about her "I may get cancer" thing. A little hard to know what to do in that situation and the fact that it's being livestreamed doesn't help.
@@Fragrantcanary I think bro was talking overall, nerdy guys are socially-awkward introvert people and in any stressful or very demanding social situation they are unarmed and don't know how to deal with it. And it was pretty to deal with the situation, basically anyone saying "can you please shut up for a second? We are here to enjoy the speedrun, not doing your therapy session", yes it's rude and a little mean, but it would be highly deserved for those attention whores crybabies, if they never learn their lessons they will never change, so lets go hard with it.
This girl has zero common sense, none of these guys cared. Every single guy was in that room for one purpose, and one purpose only. TO SIMPLY WATCH THE SPEED RUN. Why would some chick spill all of that onto a guy in the middle of a speed run. Just confuses me, no one was watching her knit, and no one cared. The game was the main point, and she then gets all emotional.
Huge props to Runnerguy for being calm and accepting. If she would have told me to stop and interrupted my run, I would have popped off on her. #sorrynotsorry Should have picked a better time for her pity story.
Can u say attention seeking behavior? She brought that stuff thinking people would ask and she could get a lot of attention from her sob story. People don't actually care like they pretend to online tho. She decided to speak up to start the attention flow and bombed badly. I bet she had been dropping hints to try to get people to ask all day.

All those people look like they've just been involuntarily teleported into this room from different moments in time and have absolutely zero spacial awareness
Props on the guy in the gray tee sitting right next to her. Look at his hand on his knee throughout the video, you can see it personify how awkward he feels.
This clip is going to be a classic for decades to come. I just wish the host had not said anything. In my heart, this ended with Link rapidly side hopping away.

I like how to two guys at the couch stare her down after she says “Could you stop”
Yeah cause that was a bitchy thing to do.
The guy was forced to put down his controller and waste seconds on a speedrun to clap for that attention seek. That's sad
He wasn't forced. If you watch his facial expressions it kinda shows that he made the decision to specifically clap. Regardless of what she did, you gotta respect that the man stopped his Speedrun to show her some support.
@@fishmrinc Its manipulating the room to get attention on her. A toddler tactic. She asked him to stop playing prior. He doesn't and basically ignores her. Once she starts crying his face says "fuck I guess I should stop". He's forced to react.

When all you're raised on is video games/anime and the internet you have no sense of self awareness. Probably no support system so she doesn't understand how to open up to others in a healthy way. Immensely cringy though.

People have mental illnesses, issues, or are just otherwise cringey as fuck regardless of their interests. It has literally nothing to do with playing video games, as the other 30 people who were equally nerdy or even nerdier than her were able to keep their composure and not force their life story on everyone.
I just wanted to make sure you were aware of how dumb you sounded, that's all. A common courtesy, if you will. Try to keep up with the times, as they are a changin'.

There is no possible way she can know she has a 50% chance, or any percentage of a chance, of dying from cancer. Her whole idea of this is based on her grandmother's death, which she used as a crutch to garner sympathy for. Awful and selfish person.
she out of line with how society works 😂
What made her think ANYONE cared at all about her "look at me everyone" story?

Used to work for a nonprofit that hosted events for kids like these who didn’t socialize often and were very introvert. We were meant to help them develop social skills in social settings etc. what I came to learn is that a lot of them lack a sense to read or even recognize social cues. Even to the most basic social behavior it was difficult for them to grasp it and let alone implement it.
Did you find any solutions for these types of people? How do they go about learning ?
