"Lars often fails to make the transition".
“Near the end of the solo, Cliff performs a tapped harmonics
outro, which closed the live versions too. Thus clue Lars to - wrap the shit up” :-)
Best observation ever!
Seems to happen a lot.
Finally. My life is complete.

You’re profile pic is the dude who makes one minute skits that often have a dark depressing end?
No is not, we still need to listen a properly mixed AJFA album =(
that's what's up !@!! goodluck in your journey
Anesthesia (Pulling Teeth) but it's sean connery
"Basch Scholo, take one."
That legitimately made me laugh
I don't play bass but you're amazing and Cliff is, so I'm watching this video.
I am flattered, thanks a lot)
@@AndriyVasylenko thank you for your amazing videos💓
2:53 Cliff puts his hand up as if to fistbump lars, and lars left him hanging by not coming in with the drums.
You're correct, Orion KILLS anesthesia, from beginning to end is amazing. Especially for those who are just hearing it for the first time, see I have heard it probably a million times literally, so it's hard to get that feeling of insane amazement, after all these years with some songs. With this song, its still "got it".
Call of ktulu!
Yes! I believe orion is the best instrumental ever created by any human, it amazes me from the beggining to the end every single time I listen to it. I hope it plays on my funeral one day
@@malucobeleza66 both Orion and Ktulu are insane
Along with his exceptional bass chops Cliff was also a great arranger and composer. Listen to Mechanix and Four Horsemen. They are basically the same song but Cliff was able to make the arrangement flow better and the lyrics are more mature. One can only imagine what ...and Justice For All would have sounded like if he were alive
3:09 I've always loved how Cliff is like: "Cmon Lars, you dumbass! Here is where you start"

I've been learning it from here for months, learn a Riff, master it, learn the next 10 seconds of the song, repeat 😂 I'm currently a few riffs into the drum part, this video has been so helpful thank you!
My guy I struggled so much with learning this solo, but this video is an amazing explination and has already helped me so much
Enjoy playing)
Learned to play this song 25 years ago and have never forgotten it. Great video. Cliff forever!
he really is classically trained i love anesthesia cuz its a mix of everything there is
One of the greatest bass solos from the greatest metal bassist of all time, I couldn’t have asked for a better Christmas present. Merry Christmas, Andriy, and happy holidays
Blue Oyster Cult guitar players are criminally underrated

This helps me alot!!!!!.Thank you for making this video
Muchas gracias... Este era el paso a paso que tanto esperaba...
Muchas gracias por compartir tus conocimientos..
Thank you! Finally it’s here on RUclips!
Best Christmas gift ever
14:08 for this part of the breakdown section I had to "improvise" something easier (meaning I had to randomize that rising part up to that 19th fret bend) since each note is drowned by the distortion and the wah anyway making each note indistinct.. that part is so confusing especially for an amateur bass player playing for 7 months like me.. but it would make a good practice/exercise to improve my technicality. i love how even the inaudible parts of the solo note-wise, you were able to tab them. really love ur work, man
YOUR BASS IS BACK!
I really love that he keeps his strong accent!!! 🤘
Great job dude! Thanks for your great class! Because of you many people can learn about Cliff and his incredible music and the most important thing is that now we can play his songs like him! Thank you! Keep on' Rockin' in a free World!! Best reguards from Chili!
Cliff was using the bass equivalent of Tony Iommi strings lmao.
Very great. Anesthesia my best song !! Thanks for the tabs frrrriend

Thanks, I'm going to use similar technics in writing my nod of to Cliff
Merry Christmas!
Amazing

Awesome 🤘
Since I enjoy listenning to clasical music (as much as Thrash metal) and started playing the bass, this song is a lot of fun to play, though quite hard for me as a bass beginner. Thank for the video.
As the song progresses, so do you) Thanks for liking the video!
Thats Awasome!
Hiii friend,, thanks again you are always helpful thanks
thank you so much this help my a lot ,I do a lot of progreas whit this song
That's all music IS!! Most people don't just sit down and write an entire piece all at once, they use pieces of previously created music, or new riffs or licks, and they put them together. Everything is literally just a bunch of random riffs! That's why I tell everyone who doubts that they can play, "You can play anything anybody else can!" Do you have any idea how much PRACTICE and dedication it took these people to get "good" at guitar? Anyone can literally learn how. Just put yourself into it!
Awesome video frrrrrrriiieennndddd
Only 15 seconds into video, and I'm already satisfied
I’ve been trying to finally learn this for a week straight. I’ve made it to the 12:40 mark…so close but still so far! Trying to cement the muscle memory in my head for the second half of the song is hell on your fingers from all the damn bends, but damn if it doesn’t feel good when you nail it. It seems like the closer it gets to the end though, the more seemingly atonal it gets with all the coda, and it’s pretty hard to hear it “correctly” when slowed down to learn. I feel like if I made it this far, with enough perseverance, I can finish. Thank you for everything you do man.
You finish yet?
@@gabrielkrachunis8909 The only part im still working on is the end!
You finished now?
@@roaming740 no I’m a failure :c
Love your channel and this video! I used to play this piece a lot when I was in a band in the 80s and 90s, and you're right on that it's fun to use it as an improv piece for whatever kind of stuff you're into at the moment. That's the spirit of Cliff, and I've always felt it's a great legacy (and I agree that Orion is of course his masterpiece). Using it as an improv platform keeps the memory and spirit of Cliff with us!
11 years ago I made a quick video to test how to upload to youtube, of course I played Anesthesia! And I hadn't played it probably since the mid-90s. It's not great, but I thought you might like to see some different right hand ideas, based on my classical guitar lessons when I was a kid. I also 3-finger triplet a lot (even though Steve Harris didn't, I use it for Maiden, too!), and I think it makes the bridge sound epic with distortion, I play both the fretted and open strings together (unfortunately I played it dry for that old video).
Oops, forgot link: ruclips.net/video/Fm6KMVEUDt0/видео.html
Andriy, they way you played make me feel so good. You improve a lot compare to your previous videos. I like the way of progressing you improve yourself.
Yeah, that makes me learning a lot as well. Good work bro. InsyaAllah, you will be able to create few bass signature tunes and songs like Cliff did 30 yrs ago. No one be able to be better than Cliff so far. Most is trying to copy what he did, that makes me sad. I want some new bass songs like Cliff did long² time ago.
I don’t play bass but impressive!
Same
Cliff was God in disguise
Yeah he is very good,
But I dont think he can play as good as Cliff =P
He is the guy the Bible talks about CLIFF
What a lovely surprise
i dont have a bass guitar but i tried on my electric guitar. thank you andriy. im playing the same riff for hours now. my first job will be to buy a bass guitar soon as i can.
finally! bass solo take 1
I GOT IT LETS GOOOOOO
Спасибо за подробный разбор трека и моё уважение, что будучи снг человеком ты делаешь ролики для американцев и при этом для людей незнающих английский всё тоже предельно понятно
Thanks frrrrrrriend!
I don't even play bass but this is still a must-watch.
Feliz Natal!
This my unique Christmas present, but is the best present
Wow, you seem to have some amount of musical knowledge 🤘🔥 🎶
Feliz Navidad hombre
Great job man! Pretty much nailed it, you probably have the best Cliff Burton sound out of any other bassist on youtube. Good lesson, thank you! Had to edit, I think call of ktulu should have been mentioned for Cliff. How he goes from playing bass to the great fills he does so subtle. If it's quiet when listening you really miss so much of the song.
Thank you so much! I just picked a decent distortion, it's actually not quite the sound Cliff had, but still it's as massive as his) Btw, check out my recent video 20 levels of Cliff Burton's bass lines, I gave Ktulu a high level with a live version where the bass fills are loud af
Right on!
Great!!! 💪👍
I played this for my year 9 musical performance assessement and got full marks.
Well done my frrrrrrriend
7:27 start
I like do much your videos
Man much credit for being able to play with claws.
And yet here I am again at 2:42am this time determined to learn the whole piece I've already figured out how to play the first section but the second one with the drums is fucking difficult.
Hey Andriy i like your content a lot and since me and some of my friends are forming a band we would really like some tips or advises for equipment, riping off other bands or really anything that would be helpful. We can also use some bass tips as well or maybe you can make a video about it. Keep making great content.
Hey man. I am not good at equipment and tone, actually)) I hadn't delt with a real amp for 4 years, and even never owned one. I play via VST-plugins. Having a instrument that holds tune is essential. And try to lsiten to what you drummer plays, the accents))
