Hello lovely peopl! Sub to my House of Hila channel for non sewing (but also fun) stuff - ruclips.net/channel/UC3m1PLoTKqRSonc5AmgKMjg and if you'd like to support me buy me a coffee here - ko-fi.com/saturdaynightstitch
I, too, enjoyed all of your makes, dancing, mini movie, and positive vibe throughout your video. I also like how you showed the ins and out of the clothing detailing. 💯👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾😂💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾 I followed you on Instagram. But, I subscribed and will see more of your personality here. I am teaching myself to sew. Therefore, I will catch up on your blog as well and attempt some of the tutorials. 😘💣
I have watched hundreds of hours of sewing RUclips videos over the past two years and cannot believe I just found you! I love your style! You're fantastic!💕
Artist, Dancer, Actress, Seamstress, Designer.....narrow it down....YOU are one of a kind...keep expanding your eclectic collection....you are stunning in everything
Thanks for the fashion show. Thanks for showing us the inside, it's nice to see construction and beautiful finishes. Your style is very eclectic but the way you mix patterns and color blocking gives it all a cohesive feel...keep sewing the things that speak to you.
You are seeeew much fun to watch. You make me want to sew 24 hours seven- AND buy too much more fabric and patterns than I need. Your'e a great salesperson (or do I mean "Influencer?) Many blessings to you for bringing a smile to my face on an anxiety-ridden day.
Not sure which is my favorite...............so may beautiful dresses. Well the one with the big flounce on the side in two colors that you wore on your anniversary dinner! Love your style and your sense of fun. I really do not have many occasions to wear dresses but do love them.
I absolutely love your eclectic style so please please please keep doing you!! All of these were wonderful but that last one where you "vogue"d and did a short film is my absolute favorite ❤
Oh my goodness! I didn't know what to expect when the video started but, oh how imperfectly perfect your video is for me. I love how it's not influencer perfect but, everyday joyous perfect. And the dancing... amazing!!! My favorites are dresses 1 & 3 however I would also love to see the bright sweater in a middie tapered like dress. Thank you!
The quality of your construction is superb! My fav was the pink sweater and I adore the last dress. I have that pattern somewhere and I will be pulling it out today after seeing it on you. I’ve never made it, but it’s darling in you. Thanks for the great fashion show 🦀🎯👏🤩🦄💯🏆
SASSY!! i love that you turned the dresses inside out and showed the pockets. i add pockets to every thing too! you could do the 2 dress bib in pintucks with lace around the bib and it would really look different. having a pocket in the side seam that has a zipper is not easy. good job.
This is an amazing video! Thanks for sharing all of your lovely things! I’m a new viewer and your inside out portions of the video blew my mind!! I think my absolute favorites on you are the Helmi Tunic and the Flounce Dress; but I’ll have to keep watching your previous and upcoming videos to better know what suits your style - right now I could only say that everything seems to. You sewed and wore everything in this video admirably. ♥️
That last dress is gorgeous! And the fabric is so amazing that it looks even better in black and white. .....just like in the old movies we had on TV every weekend.... with the ladies swanning about!!
@@SaturdayNightStitch I love that you put the clothes on inside out, such a brillantly simple idea, but helps us see the actual cut of the item. Very clever!!!
I'm looking a better pattern to my dress, and I crushed on to your Burda 7/2015 dress. It's so beautiful and pockets are so handy. 😍 Have to read your blog of that. Thanks for the inspiration!
I subscribed! What a wonderful channel. So glad RUclips added you to my feed. I just got my new machine today. I absolutely ADORE mixed patterns and have taken COURAGE to do so in my sewing. You are refreshing and the short film was so unexpected. I smiled the whole way through. Thank you!!!!!!!
Welcome aboard! And thank you so much for taking a chance on me and clicking on the video. I am glad you found it uplifting - thats what sewing does for me and I love to share that.
I loved your intro and how you playfully showed off the outfits. You are so cute! I loved watching you. I don't wear too many dresses anymore since I love making blouses and wearing them with jeans. Thank you for making this fun video.
HI Hila. Loved the vlog! I love your crazy creative presentation and you really make me laugh. I love dancing too and I can see how much joy it brings you. I loved the last dress but I actually thought every piece looked great on you, A close second would be the toaster sweater, Diana
Thank you so much!! Dancing is a great stress reliever and I have been doing it a LOT lately! Glad to hear I'm not the only one :-). The copyright issues mean I cant share the background music I am dancing to which is such a shame.
So I'm off to lose some weight so I too can wear that cumberband dress (oh, I forgot I like eating better)!!!!! You look great in it and you're right - it is soooo very feminine! I would suggest you make a black cumberband as well not only for versatility but also because it would bring out the beautiful fabric. The high-neck chemise in viscose is perfect but then they all are. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing. Best and "stay safe" wishes!!!!
I adore them all- I'd go for as much of a "V9253-style" that you can fit into your busy mom of five life! I admire how you mix prints and colors would love to see more of this in everyday outfits.
Wonderful collection as usual and you look great in everything! If I had to choose a style, and by the way, I think eclectic is absolutely fine, but if I had to pin down a style I would probably say 60s/70s inspired. Keep up the fantastic vlogs, they always make my day :)
Thanks for sharing!! The 60s and 70s are my favourite vintage fashion eras - a fact which surprised mew hen I started down the vintage patterns route. I am finding more inspiration when I am browsing those eras. The frustrating thing has been finding vintage style fabric prints. I am in love with some of the bold 60s graphic prints and the folkoric prints of 70s boho. Still I search on :-).
Beautiful garments and your construction technique is impeccable. My style is very different from yours but I really like your aesthetic. Vogue 9253 is my favorite. Love what you did with the prints.
Thank you so much! Over the past couple of years I have been working on improving my finishing and the small habits have been building up. I used to be quite impatient and skip thing to finish :-)!
Thank you! The beauty of sewing is that we all get there the more we sew. When I started out 6 years ago - I was terrible at it! Keep at it and with each new project just a little improvement adds up and before you know it you are sewing things that look better that RTW. :-)
Looking forward to more vlogs. As for your style choices, personally I'd say you have lots of picks for different moods...don't limit yourself to one look(mood) in your sewing 😘
Great fabric choices and styles plus what lovely sewing . The Last Vogue dress is my favorite ! Love the hair and fantastic figure after 5 kids ! Any tips ! Thanks for sharing yr makes 😍😍
I am getting ready to cut and sew the kimono sleeve midi dress. I am trying to pick my fabric from my hoard. I have a gorgeous embroidered lightweight denim colored cotton that could be great for this as the drape would let the skirt shine. I am thinking of making the belt separate and crocheting loops for it so I can wear it with or without. Love the fabric you used in 2 color ways ... dang that wasn’t cheap fabric either (I priced it!). Thanks for you video and blog post,it was helpful for me for this dress. ❤️👍🏼
I love the idea of making the belts separate and crocheting belt loops. The belts starting at the back has been less than convenient when I have worn it. I was sure for my next version Id move them to the sides but your idea is much better. Thanks so much for sharing!
@@SaturdayNightStitch Finished the dress and it turned out great! Made the belt separate and decided to not do the loops. The belt sits just fine on my rib cage area under the bust. I like it separate and can change out the belt for a different one now if I want to! 👍🥰
The Sew House 7 Toaster Sweater is on my to do list. I also want to make it a bit longer. The way you show your makes is like watching a runway show, I love it.
Hila this was such a fun video to watch!!! You used to do these all the time and I just loved them. I loved the two toned dress with the side flounce the best I think but as to your style - I think you look really cute in shorter dresses and tights - more of a modern mom athleisure look. Styled with cute boots as you have done. Now how that translate to summer would be sleeveless with a modern Nike type sandals and shift type dress. I have to say I thought the jeansy dress looked a little too old for you though it was cute. Sorry too much chatter. Xoxo
Thanks Sandi! I ALWAYS love your analysis cause you give it me straight! I need to find me some modern Nike sandals! I hope to do more of these as I have a HUGE backlog of projects to share but once the kids get back to school in September and I am no longer the schoolteacher, I'll more time to get glammed up and play dress up :-). Keep well!
It is my joy to comment. You inspire this old girl all the time and particularly in this horrible time in our lives. I’ll send you some pics of the shoes if you don’t mind. Love ya girl and I lift you up to the Great one to bring you all your heart desires.
Thank you for sharing, I love the way you talk about the positive and negative aspects of the patterns it’s very informative. What pattern did you use for your animal print skirt? I thought all the looks really suited you and you made the garments look so much better than the pictures on the pattern covers. Thank you.
