🥷🥷🥷I've never tackled "Long Distance" before, even when I started my initial Revenge of Shinobi E+E project in the past. Being the completionist I am, I felt it was a good chance to tackle yet another track that doesn't exactly get a lot of attention, given that it's an attract mode song. This is a brief, yet logical expansion that builds on the original track with an entirely new section that is perfect to enjoy the full groove. It's what I would have envisioned for a full-length version of the song. I've also set up a brand new Patreon page, in case you'd like to support my work. Head on over and check it out at patreon.com/maestrodraven!
Wow, simply amazing!! Every track you do, you do with complete justice. I love the expanded bit in this as it carries on the energy of the song, keep it up!
Thanks MM, for Revenge of Shinobi I'm going to be a bit more conservative when it comes to the expansions. I'll be utilizing less new instruments in an attempt to stick close to the raw 16-bit feel, so that means I need to think more about the actual composition, rather than the sound.
Stop doing satan's horns. Unless you want to end up after passing away in the lake of fire and brimstone with the deceiver satan for representing him. Denounce satan and his trademark horns and willingly accept God=Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior and repent while there is time.
The year is 1989... The evil crime syndicate ZEED, lead by a mysterious Ninja Master, was close to conquering the world. Until a fearless master of the ancient Ninjitsu art of stealth, Joe Musashi, stormed the doors of the syndicate's headquarters and destroyed the Ninja Master. Soon after, the fallen crime syndicate suddenly rose to power once again. This time, the Ninja Master was able to seize control of the international military, and once again, the world fell into chaos. But this time, with a new mission... Their new mission was to hunt down and kill anyone who possessed the power of stealth. Those who possessed the ancient magic of the art of stealth were considered a threat to the new NEO ZEED syndicate. The Ninja Master's first target was the origin of Joe Musashi's power, the Orbu Clan... When Joe learned of the syndicate's plans, he rushed back to his clan, but he was too late. He discovered his entire clan was killed. The Orbu Grandmaster, with his last breaths, explained to Joe that his soulmate, Naoko, was captured and taken away by NEO ZEED. If she dies, then the Orbu Clan will fade into nothingness... Joe Musashi, with revenge in his heart, swore that his clan would not die in vain. He now sets off to destroy NEO ZEED, and The Ninja Master, once and for all...
Thanks RR! I've never actually tackled this one before so it was nice to jump into a track I've never touched. I didn't want to stray too far from it, just beef it up a bit.
Aw yeah Shinobi. I've been hoping you'd come back to this after SoR. This is great, and I'm looking forward to the rest as well. Hope you keep doing what you're doing.
If there is one thing I could wish for, it would be for the band Musashi to do a cover of this song, if not the entire soundtrack. This song in my opinion has a sound reminiscent to the music they made for the original Naruto anime, so i could definitely see their style meshing well with the composition. On topic though, I love what has been done here with this expansion.
Don't know why this remembered me those of ninja gaiden. It will be awesome if you could make some ninja gaiden's songs. This is a master piece, the revenge of the shinobi. An awseme job, i really liked the drums in this song.👍
That's largely subjective, and I had thought about it, but sometimes changing things like percussion can actually cause issues. For this soundtrack, I was aiming for something closer to the original Genesis sound, though I have inserted hats and cymbals where the original game didn't have those. If all boils down to balance, and I felt like swapping the percussion would actually have a negative effect.
@@forgot7en - Again, subjective. I think the percussion is part and parcel of what makes ROS sound the way it does, which is why I didn't change it. Sometimes changes we think are subtle can end up being the most noticeable.
I also used to loathe the muffled drums, but I too believe it is the key sound that makes it stand apart from other soundtracks on the Genesis. While I thought it took away from the sound, I now believe it actually has a special charm to it. That being said, people have uploaded the original soundtrack with patched drums and there is an album known as The Super Shinobi and Works which uses better samples which had to be compressed on the Genesis. As has already been stated, it is subjective.

This always reminded me of 'Aces High' from Iron Maiden.
It reminds me where Eagles dare for the drums
This was my favorite music in this game you just made it more epic for me
This would be a perfect track for Dance of the Dead to cover.
I totally agree
I wish
This one has always been my favorite track in the game. Great job!

@@MaestroDraven That's a great idea, I can't wait to hear what new expansion ideas you come up with for the rest of the soundtrack!
oh yeah here it is....amazing track and an amazing job you did here keeping the "urgency" sensation of the track. Thank you.
A eternal classic of Sega Mega Drive. Cheers from Brazil, Maestro Draven! 🤘
THEME OF HEROIC BRAZILIAN is such a great and encouraging song

I heard this back and I think when I was 38 years old back in 2022
Absolute banger of a track, remixed this one myself and its such a fun track to work with, your version is the best I've ever heard, hands down. 😎
Thanks RR! I've never actually tackled this one before so it was nice to jump into a track I've never touched. I didn't want to stray too far from it, just beef it up a bit.
Such an immense pleasure to listen to your Shinobi remixes

Thanks for the support. The next few songs should come really quick, as the structure was laid out a few years ago. Stick close!
Damn, it sounds so much like a music from The Messenger too !
This was before The Messenger so The Messenger sounds like this.
@@Blit-X-TVLive I know don't worry :) I just meant that this rendition was reminiscent of Thte Messenger !

Just the Shinobi Film or Anime. It can become the opening theme.😮
Nice remix. I try to remix it to, and it's cool to ear what you did with the expansion part !
Amazing, dude
