    Works great if you pay attention to instructions. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxviiltW7NlHbp_VL_bLbIkbLAvILVhnia For those that complain about "mushy" or "wet" rice I suspect they are using the included cup to measure rice (which is really only 3/4 cup) and then putting in water using a separate measuring cup that is a full cup. This results in too much water and you will get mushy or wet rice and think it is not done. Just use the included cup for both rice and water, or your own measuring cup for rice and water according to your package directions. It will come out fine. I've used mine for years for brown and white rice. If your machine is bubbling white froth out of the steam vent then it means you should have rinsed your brand of rice first to remove some of the starch. Sheesh. Makes me wonder how people can cook well enough to feed themselves.

      We also find some rice needs more water and usually check during cooking if we’re using rice that we haven’t tried before.

    A little Tip, Mandy ... which someone taught me. Next time that you cook Basmati Rice in ye'r lovely Rice Cooker, sprinkle a few drops of Lemon Juice before starting the Cooking process ... this will help to prevent the Rice from sticking, and will give you a FLUFFY Rice when cooked.

    • @Mandyglen
      @Mandyglen  Год назад

      We will try that.

      @@Mandyglen Please do so ... the other thing to do, of course, is to wash the Rice very THOROUGHLY by rinsing it under running water until the water runs clear. T'is the STARCH in the Rice which makes it sticky when cooked.
      For a flavoured Basmati Rice from time to time, add a few Cloves, a few Cardamom Pods, and some Whole Cumin Seeds during cooking. The aroma will be breathtaking and the Rice will taste really different - we call this Pilau Rice.

      @@mohammedpanju2236 I second that, mind blowing rice ! Personally I wash it 4 to 5 times until it run almost clear, I use a little bit of salt and sometime rice vinegar. If it's sticky and burnt, just close the lid while unplugging the cooker and let it steam, rice will be ready ! x

    have you notcied it forms a crust on the bottom at all? I have a rice cooker (not this lidl one) but it forms a crus ton the bottom so when you mix the rice the "crispy" bit at the bottom goes into everything... I've seen good reviews on this silvercrest one from lidl.

    Although,a big fan of Lidl specially its appliances, not happy with this rice cooker as it's impossible to clean the inner lid after cooking the rice. The lid cannot be removed for cleaning/washing unless you unscrew it with a screwdriver etc. Just used it once and returning it now I'm afraid.
    The starchy water gets behind the rubber seal in the inside of the lid which is impossible to clean.
    More of a time taking job than a time saver.
