Boca do Risco - Madeira Island

Boca do Risco was one of my favourite trails of the Madeira trip. I rode this one blind aswell which spiced things up a bit. It`s actually split into two parts on Trailforks with the upper half being red and the lower one rated blue. However this is one of the few trails I do not aggre with the rating, especially in the first half. It features some very steep and tight swirchbacks ( way steeper than the video shows thanks to the GoPro-effect) and some quite gnarly little rockgardens. Therefore I'd more likely rate it a single black since i think you should rate trails according to their hardest features not the overall impression...The lower part is something in between blue and red so the blue rating might be fine here.
It was very loose the day i was riding. There was a few centimetres thick layer of sand in most upper sections. Could be interesting when wet...
All in all: Amazing trail with stunning views and very fun to ride!

I just spent a week in Madeira but we had our 3 & 7 year olds with us so I didn't get a chance to do any riding. It's definitely somewhere I want to get back to and do some riding!
