And DSP isn’t playing games at some professional level. He’s bumbling around “average Joe style” (despite playing considerably worse than the average gamer). So his competition in his niche is literally everybody that plays video games on stream. And his watch time on his channel is terrible. Privating his streams makes his watch time null and void. So the uploaded videos start at 0 for that metric and most people click around and then dip out. He said once that his average watch time was 5 minutes. His videos are 1 hour long. That’s a terrible ratio. So the algorithm is going to push literally any other Let’s Play videos with better watch time, which is probably thousands of videos of the same game DSP plays. And it’s probably worse if it’s an older video of an older game like Fallout 4 because that’ll have 10 years of metrics baked into it.
