I love how, when they're with just each other, someone who knows the secret, or alone, the transformation is almost instantaneous. But when other people are around, they always have enough time to run away and hide.
I have mad respect for Zane, he was annoying for so long but then switched to being one of the most supportive people in making sure their secret was hidden
I don't remember how Zane turns out at the very end of the show but I LOVE how they got him yo change like he did. The way he acted when he found out about the girls was incredible

I find it kinda hilarious how the girls just fall over like a tree whenever they transform instead of sitting or lying down first. But credit where credit is due, it makes transformations ten times funnier.
This was my favourite tv show when I was a child. I loved it. I still rewatch it occassionally. I am almost 20, but not gonna lie, i still enjoy it. It just brings up the old memories haha. But obviously when you look at it now, a lot of things look silly in the show, but still, this has a special place in my heart.

After Cleo get tricked onto Zane's boat Ricki jumps on board and later on convinced the girls to drive out to see... Getting them to run out of gas and have to riw to mako. Which led to them finding the moon pool and their story as mermaids begin
Baths plus 2 of them had powers good for drying off which reverses the transformation. Rikki could heat water and evaporate it and Cleo could just move it off her

Also, they dont shower or at least limit the amount of time they shower. Multiple times in the show where other characters mention how they smell like fish/ the ocean. Cleo especially only takes baths as it gives an excuse for her to stay in the bathroom longer.

I understand why the show never told the parents, but they did the boyfriends. But it's still so aggravating when so many situations could've been helped!

I know you shouldn’t keep secrets to your partner but if they’re not willing to tell you then you have no right to guilt trip/pressure or force them to tell you. I only knew Phoebe Tonkin and Claire Holt from the series The Originals from 2013 to 2018. It's amusing to see that the two actresses obviously knew each other before.
i miss this show. it had so much slice of life goodness. it was very rrelaxing to watch every time it came on TV. the music does wonders for the atmosphere, and not to mention the prop and make up artists! they all did their job wonderfully. really feels like the creator's vision was beautifully brought to life. such a simple concept and story, yet it makes for a charming show overall when handled by the right people. the staff should be proud with what they've achieved. i remember watching a few BTS videos when i was little, and the mermaid prop artists said that they hand-crafted the tailed suits EVERY time they had to transform in the show. a master of their craft man im telling ya. even though i really enjoy the slow laid back nature of season 1, i really adored the lore they expanded on in season 2 and 3. bella made a nice addition to the cast! a negative thing i remember in the fandom unfortunately, is that charlotte got a lot of weird hate back then. many said that her actress was "too fat" to be a mermaid, compared to the others.

And then there was the animated H2O show as well. (Mermaid Adventures, I think?) Also not the same. Alt universe version of Cleo, Rikki, and Emma's story. Being animated instead of live action gave them freedom to lean a lot more into the magical powers and the fantasy of it all, and they occasionally mimic some minor storylines from the original show but they also often veer off and tell entirely new stories. You see a lot of the same characters by name, but a lot of differences in background and personality come up if you compare them to the original. (Differences in the mermaids compared to their originals, too.) And they have a whole cast of new characters added since the animated mermaids can talk to all the sea animals. I think the show Bureau of Magical Things is from the same creators as the H2O shows, right? That's aired 2 seasons now and I think at least 1 more seemed likely to be made. So that's what they've been busy with. I wouldn't expect to hear anything about a new mermaid show while their elf and fairy show is still running. And even then, they could just as easily switch gears to another fantasy race and start a new series again.
Gee, it's a wonder they spend so much time near pools, on docks, at the beach and hanging out with dolphins when they know they'll change if they get the slightest bit wet!
I guess I wouldn't want to have a sister like Kim and it was really bad that Emma fell off the horse farm. Still, it's nice to have it back to its original state after it dries, or I can't imagine falling into a dirty place.🙄😏🤣
Loved the show and rewatch it at least twice a year, but the biggest plot hole was the timing of the transformation. Sometimes i swear it takes 2 seconds, other times it takes 3 minutes. However, ehen ee see them time it, it was 10 seconds
This caused a bit a plot hole. In the episode where Rikki goes after some ocean wildlife smugglers she finds their hideout on some pier. Its never clear how she climbed out to dry herself with her powers, and later Cleo and Emma come after her and not only its not clear how they climbed up but also how could they dry themselves soo quickly without Rikki or towels to do so.
When Ricky got caught by the sprinkler wasn’t it convenient that no one was walking in the park, or chilling on their balcony or working on the boats 😐😅 I love this show but it is hilarious when you look back on it when you’re older 🤣

This show is a good start to my childhood:D because the first time I watched this was like the year it ended which is sad
Loved the show and rewatch it at least twice a year, but the biggest plot hole was the timing of the transformation. Sometimes i swear it takes 2 seconds, other times it takes 3 minutes. However, ehen ee see them time it, it was 10 seconds
I remember how literally everyone hated Charlotte 😂

After seeing this I feel like the whole purpose of the show was a joke about someone transforming into a fishy creature and flopping over on land.
This caused a bit a plot hole.
In the episode where Rikki goes after some ocean wildlife smugglers she finds their hideout on some pier.
Its never clear how she climbed out to dry herself with her powers, and later Cleo and Emma come after her and not only its not clear how they climbed up but also how could they dry themselves soo quickly without Rikki or towels to do so.
When Ricky got caught by the sprinkler wasn’t it convenient that no one was walking in the park, or chilling on their balcony or working on the boats 😐😅
I love this show but it is hilarious when you look back on it when you’re older 🤣

They never explained the fact that their clothes magically disappeared- did they have to go shopping every single day or what? They basically lost clothes every day. And what about showering? How do they shower like- if everytime they turn into mermaids, with a bra that doesn’t go away, with a tail that covers basically most of their body- I am so confused on how these girls live lmao, we never asked ourselves this cause we were kids so ofc that wasn’t a problem but I’m genuinely curious💀

They can. As long as the skin on their face doesn't get wet. And my guess is that they do shower and wash their face, etc, but they probably do it in the bathtub in their mermaid forms.
