    You could attach a smaller fat max level to the straight edge saves time with double handing the straight edge and level back and forth 👍🏻

    Cracking video pal. Keep it up. Would love to see how you use the dewalt dri wall cutter. Had some mixed times with it 😂

    Always have your dab like a cornish pasty, not like pancakes ,and use the full width of the trowel not the end ,also solid dabs on the reveals so you can knock a bead on ,nowt worse skimming behind someone who doesn't do that

    Can you do a review of insta stick? Fixing plasterboards to walls with just foam? Would be good to see the pros and cons and if it’s better than adhesive.

      I have seen this method used. I like it a lot. I really should buy a mallet. Would be handy.

    Quick question pal...wheh you stuck those boards to the wall...i could see tiny gap at the top against the cieling ...is that normal and do i not need to fill it ?

    Newbe question! You said you cut the reveals at 220mm, would I be right in thinking that means the biggest measurement was 200mm?

    • @chriscooper2342
      @chriscooper2342 Год назад

      Do you need to cut them a bit wider to allow for the thickness of the dab on the joining wall? Eg. If your reveals were 200mm all round would you cut them at 220mm to give a 20mm gap for the dab of the overlapping board, or is that a little ott and you just let the bead cover it?

  • @uncensored5104
    @uncensored5104 2 года назад

    So where you were short on packing the first board, it left you short from the ceiling. What do you do about that? A sliver of board or bonding/hardwall?

    Hi, I have dot and dab the party wall in my house between the neighbours and it seems to of helped slightly with sound but I hear it’s a bad idea for noise, we have a Victorian house we are thinking of removing the dab, any thoughts in your opinion? Thanks

    • @matnewton3123
      @matnewton3123 Год назад

      I did a lot of research on this before embarking on my own acoustic protection. You’re right, the science suggests that the voids behind the D&D plasterboard can act like a drum. Companies will hack off the boards and fit rail systems to effectively decouple the internal wall from the party wall. This can include going into the ceiling and the floor. They will also use high density matting, acoustic sealant and acoustic plasterboard which is doubled up and overlapped. The noise reduction is a massive improvement BUT it is an very expensive option. There are loads of videos about this on RUclips

      Blue sound block board should do the job. Bit of a late reply though

    What a trowel are you using Alex

    • @AlexMorleyPlastering

      I think the trowel used in this video was a 13” MT Carbon. Wooden Handle.

    hi alex, could you explain why you cut the board down after it goes off and not cut it to size when you fix it (kitchen). p.s. lose the beard its aging you LOL.

    • @AlexMorleyPlastering
      @AlexMorleyPlastering  2 года назад +2

      It’s a bit easier to get it accurate rather than trying to square up all 3 sides all at one time.
