Hi Maria, great video! I have one question for you. So after you had planted it in the pot for 7 days, when do you start to water it? I grow my desert rose inside the house. I’m very confused when I have to start watering it because my starts to soften and rotten. Thank you very much!
I bought desert rose seeds only two seeds and planted them in an cardboard egg carton and put plastic wrap over them and put them under my light and they sprouted, rooted. I only watered the seeds once and left them to sprout. Now they are about 3 inches tall and I put them in cactus soil because it was all I could think of to put them in lol. And there doing great. I watered them 2 weeks ago and been gone seance. I hope there ok
Linda Cameron you’re very smart otherwise someone else maybe over water them they are ok what you need to do go very slow with the water when the soil it’s totally dry don’t disturb wait until they’re are about six seven months old before reporting also if you water it’s 35 and over they’re below outside under roof not rain no direct sun this it the best for you seedlings they love the fresh air hot air one more thing when repot please used very small pots about two three inch desert roses like to re root in compact pots thank you Maria’s garden 🐝🐝🐝🐝
@@MariasgardenGarden ty I am not watering it very much now because it's still small and I dont want too get root rot but I only water when the soil is really dry. Hi, great video - I’m watching from Abu Dhabi in the UAE! It’s winter here now, but still 90 degrees Fahrenheit. I’ve prepared my cuttings and I’m leaving them for 7 days to dry. I don’t have a garage, would a dark room in the house be ok? And how long do you recommend I leave them there before taking them outside? Thanks.
Ms Maria, I plant new desert rose last Monday 25 of May and untill now May 30 I didn't water yet, when I can start watering my plants? I put on the shade and when is the best time that I can put them outside. Looks like they are dehydrated now.

Maria, is there anyway that someone could purchase a couple or even one cutting from one of the big ones you have? You know the one that splits and puts off several branches when you prune it? I would love to be able to purchase a cutting from one of the big trees??
Hi my friend I don’t recommend desert roses from cutting if a cut the large plant will be sad and the cutting it not good they’re many complications when you propagate cutting
Hi Maria! Excellent video! I was given a cutting of desert rose today and the bottom cut looked like it was not doing well. It is possible that they have already left the cutting to dry for 7 days, but since the bottom didn’t look healthy, I made another cut and put it in cinnamon. Should I still have to let the stick dehydrate again or should I just let it callous over for a couple of days before putting it in the pot with dry soil. Thank you in advance!

Hi. I cut my desert roses and peeled a short section at the bottom and I coated bottom and top cuts with cinnamon. Can I stick them in dry soil right away and keep them under roof or do they need to lie out of soil for a week before sticking them in the soil?
Hi Maria. Hope that you can answer my question. From cutting how long does it take before the adenium will flower for the first time? Thank you for your videos. I enjoy them very much.
I'm excited to trim my plant it's about to flower for thr first time this year I think I will leave it until after it's done flowering to trim and probagate what do you think?
We don’t do that here, its chances of survival are slim because it will never have a caudex. It’s a great idea if the roots dye of root rot and you love the flowe.
Question - Do you do anything to the end of the parent plant where you cut? Do you continue to water and feed the parent, after cutting for propagation like normal? Or are there special things to worry about on the parent with that exposed cut? Thank you for these videos ! YOU ROCK!
Conscious Flow Control Training Hi my friend very important to taker the mother plants this’s is what you need to do make sure to propagate in the right according to the temperature of your state for example in Florida we don’t have winters the temperature doesn’t go below 30 degrees the best time to propagate is the first week in September for south west Florida but if you are at state the get very cold during winter the best time is the first week of spring when you weather get about 70 and going higher I Hope you can understand lol 😂 otherwise feel free to call anytime my cell 941-457-1172
Great video darling!! May I ask why are my cuttings shrinking and wrinkling during my drying process? Will it still grow if I plant it for propagation? Thank you in advanced!! ❤️
nenni670 that’s normal wrinkling during drying process is very go the cuttings need to very dehydrated before planting into dry soil with out water for two weeks to grow roots and you will have a good success thanks you Maria’s garde
Hi Maria! Will be trying your method! Do we need to put the planted cuttings in dark place like a garge? Can they be kept indoors like in the living room instead, away from a window? Thanks
Vanessa Alvarez Hi my friend Vanessa I recommend you to propagate or germinate in the bigger of you spring Time if you’re call let me know what is you USDA zone I can help you much better please to call or tex at 941-467-1172

Maria, I have 2 HUGE desert roses with root rot!! I cut the caudex off of one completely hoping it will survive and have cut out what i think is most of the rot in other other.... is it the same for these as the smaller ones? Mine are about 4 feet tall and wide with very large root systems... i dont want them to die!! Help!!
Hello Maria! I finally tried this. I had a question, is it normal for the clipping to shrivel up and become soft? I’m at the stage where there outside now. I live in Sarasota Florida it’s nice out here, no rain so they’ve had no water still thru the process. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Ty
Kat Baleau Hi Kat is many fertilizer you can use for you garden any thing you used make sure it is slow release osmocote 14-14-14, sulphur fertilize ,14-4-14, also fertilize high in nitrogen what I meat on the back of the fertilizer bag the number of nitrogen has to be high that another numbers sorry if you have any questions let me know I try to be more specific the best price for osmocote 14-14-14 slow release is Amazon.com thank you Maria’s garden
Maria, my husband and I are going to try this this weekend with our desert rose! After the 7 days to dry out and then 7 days in a pot with no water in the garage, do I then water it? Or still just bring it outside of garage and then no water still? Thank you!
Angel Trudo hi my friend the need to be under pot for six to seven weeks after two weeks you need to start watering the top of the soil one to two inch only of the top of the soil after the seven week you can place them outdoors for 3 to 4 hours of sun daily morning or evening sun and watering until the water comes out the bottom of the soil only when totally dry only but if happens to rain it’s ok let rain for weeks the plants are going to be ok thank you Maria’s garden
So you cut it from parent plant, wait 1 week to plant it, then after planting it you put it indoors for another week then by the start of third week you water it for the first time?
Hi Maria, I have a cutting that I planted about 2 months ago. It is finally starting to get a very little growth. How much sun and water should I give now? about two weeks ago I pulled it up to check the roots because I didn't see any growth and I did not see any roots. Now it is showing some signs of growth. Is it OK.
JoAnn Halverson yes take about six to seven weeks to root and about to months to start taking water in the root system but pleased don’t pull it out the soil any more thank you Maria’s garden
@@MariasgardenGarden Thank you for your answer Maria. Do you have a picture of what they look like when they first start growing? I wish I lived closer to you I know I could learn so much from you.
@@MariasgardenGarden Hi Maria thank you for your response. According to your video (how to start desert roses from cuttings) states to keep them out of the sun for 7 days. After the 7 days do I water them and allow direct sun?
@@angieprado9093 Keep the cuttings out of soil and let them dehydrate for 7 days. Then, place them in the pot with soil and keep them out with NO water for 10 more days. After those 10 days (including the previous 7) you can water.
MARIA I made a mistake and I put the dessert rose cuttings to dry for 7 days without trimming the end or putting cinnamon. Can I do it after the 7 days before I plant it or just skip this step? Do you think it will work?
A. Abraham Hi my friend yes you can trim them steam any time to encourage the cutting to root also the steams to grow when you plant them you can go around the bottom of the cutting and scratch a little of the green about 1 1/4 inch and apply cinnamon or root hormone and ready to planted thank you Maria’s garden
Margie Cochran Hi my friend what I recommend to remove all the leafs and spray with neem oil also you can water with neem oil if you continue having problems with please send me a picture also the plant needs about 5 hours of direct sun daily also you can repotted with soil please watch my videos my number is 941-457-1172 thank you Maria’s garden
Hi Maria , I have three cuttings to plant, I follow your steps, but after drying out cuttings, it became soggy on the ends, is that's how it should be? Thank you 😊
Anthony Graham Hi my friend the best soil for you desert 80 % pine bark mini nuggets 20% peat moss also is very good idea to use osmocote 14-14-14 slow release fertilizer thank you Maria’s garden

What does a desert rose seed pod look like
Maria,
So after how many days should I start watering the desert rose?
Lucy P. Hi friend Lucy i need more information to be able to answer your questions thank you maria’s garden
Maria’s Garden thank you Maria. Do I need to put cinnamon on the area of the plant that I cut the piece off of as well?
Hi hows the growth of your cuttings? I intend to do so too but it’s a leap of faith 😄
JoAnn Halverson hi my friend at this time I don’t have any pictures of seedlings thank you Maria’s garden
@@MariasgardenGarden Thank you.
when do you water after you plant and put it outside
Mari I potted three cut hydrated desert rose stems. When do I water them, 7 or 10 days later?
Angie Prado hi my friend you only water when they dry according to you climate thank you Maria’s garden
Hello Maria, how soon would the desert rose produce roots?
MARIA I made a mistake and I put the dessert rose cuttings to dry for 7 days without trimming the end or putting cinnamon. Can I do it after the 7 days before I plant it or just skip this step? Do you think it will work?
A. Abraham Hi my friend yes you can trim them steam any time to encourage the cutting to root also the steams to grow when you plant them you can go around the bottom of the cutting and scratch a little of the green about 1 1/4 inch and apply cinnamon or root hormone and ready to planted thank you Maria’s garden
Maria, I have a desert rose, that I am having an issue with spider mites?
Margie Cochran Hi my friend what I recommend to remove all the leafs and spray with neem oil also you can water with neem oil if you continue having problems with please send me a picture also the plant needs about 5 hours of direct sun daily also you can repotted with soil please watch my videos my number is 941-457-1172 thank you Maria’s garden
