I was so sad to miss this at Green Arts ... and to be able to see it here is wonderful. It is such a powerful work of art and so much more powerful for being so deeply personal. I am deeply moved by our ancestry and how it affects us. Gladys's love for her family shines through in recounting their lives. The bravery of her Gt Grandfather and the courage of her grandmother to endure. I confess I often am lost with modern art exhibitions but this is so powerful and moving

I dont think I will be alone in being deeply moved by this film. It is a powerful and compelling story eloquently told and perfectly captured by a sensitive and skilled film maker. Gladys is an inspiring, thoughtful and talented artist who through obvious strength of character has summoned immense courage and fortitude to bring these heart rending stories from the shadows into the light. The skill, time and effort that has gone into achieving this task is hugely impressive and deserves deep respect.

I saw the exhibition in Black Swan Arts in Frome and found it very moving. To see it again through the medium of this film with the life story of the artist told by herself is a deeply touching experience.

Very impressive exhibition of a family history marked by (de)colonisation, war and personal loss

A deeply personal piece which is nevertheless mesmerizing, fascinating, moving and wonderfully creative on a broader human level. Amazing pieces, with a tactile and clear inter-relation to the (eye opening) family history.
Congratulations Gladys, I look forward to seeing the pieces in person.
