Are you growing Mangos? Have you ever had an ataulfo mango?

Those are ataulfo and are the yellow skin long mangos we get here in California from Mexico. They come in different brands such as Champagne, Honey, Bunny, etc. I thought that's an interesting way to describe them as clumps 😃. This is because this variety is polyembryonic and the seed will send out several shoots. Polyembryonic seeds are made out of multiple embryos. Within those many embryos, one is fertilized and the other are essentially clones of the mother trees. Most people usually separate out the trees at a young age, but it's not necessary.
