    Greats days hiking in some great weather too but man that spider looked nasty! That tunnel looking like you are entering another world, real dark in there and after seeing that spider outdoors, makes you wonder what many have been in there too, real impressive engineering mind! The campground looked really nice, a perfect spot to kick back indeed, cheers Alan

      Glad you enjoyed it! This was a wonderful area - we wound up returning two weeks later to do the float! Hope your weekend is awesome Jim!

    Good choice on the rafting. Floating debris is one of the most dangerous things in a river, especially if you are not a proficient paddler. Moving a raft away from danger takes some skills.

      Agreed- we had heard that the day before there were some doing it with logs floating by - that did not sound appealing (or safe) in 6-9 ft of FAST FLOWING water!!

    I've got to check out these state parks. They look really beautiful. That view from the concession day use area overlooking the lake was pretty. Also, I think you made a wise choice not to go out on that river in the current conditions.

      You would love this area! Quiet, remote and so much to see!!
      We went back and did the float two weeks later - it was rough even then - we were VERY glad we had waited.........

    We were at Poe Valley last year towing a camper. GPS took us up over a mtn side. Went to the office to see if there was a paved way out. Nope. All roads in/ out are gravel! Not a good stay for us. A large group of kids had all of the cabins. With a day to go yet in our stay, they all moved right next to us which is one or two up from you. The chaperons were louder than the kids! We left a day early. We did go visit Poe Paddy and wound up with motion sickness for the rest of the day. I never get car sick especially while driving and haven't since going up there. Did you guys experience that to? Thanks for your video!

    • @wanderingoutyonder
      @wanderingoutyonder  14 дней назад +1

      Oh no! Wow - that sounds like quite the experience. We did not experience that - but it was a little intimidating the first trip in. We don't see how a camper could possibly pass another vehicle in some of those areas but were fortunate enough to not have to experience that - luckily we are early risers and traveled the road VERY early -
