I'd alarmed at that statement being that you're part Welsh as opposed to being American. Living in North Wales as I am will tell you that the Welsh have a much stronger sense of republicanism than any American I have ever met.
No one cares where your family is from. Never understood why Americans constantly bring that up, it's about as useful as saying your dad was born on mars.
Myself, being biased, prefer the US Army Old Guard battery. They even have a 4th gun ready and loaded should a misfire occur. Look up George H. W. Bush's 21 gun salute, you'll see this 4th gun in action.
G h bush gets a 21 for being brown bread, the queen still alive a kicking gets a 62 what a marvellous site to behold, and not one misfire...I thought it was the Royal horse who did the salute...
Could this, out of war practicality, be fired with a two person team? Say, in dire circumstance, when more are needed in the field, could you technically just have two whilst the other 4 advance in the field? I'm just thinking of the most efficient way to utilise the soldiers rather than having 6 soldiers standing around a gun. What say you?
It would slow down the fire rate and increase the likelihood of misfire/accidents. Be careful not to sub-optimize, there's usually a reason for most of the parts when it comes to artillery.
Only if the gun is already in action. Would be impossible without mechanical aids to bring the gun into action with only 2. At times the gun has to lifted and its just shy of 1500kg.
Sgt Labalaba famously continued laying and firing a 25-pounder singlehandedly at the battle of Mirbat; a different gun with different drills, of course, but in principle a gun can be operated with fewer. It’s just nowhere near as efficient, having to run around doing different things in different places in sequence. With this system, arcane as it looks, they can all continue doing their thing while other stuff is happening; preparing the next round as the gun is firing, and so on.
somewhat similar but with less flash Staying on time in real fighting is very important to make sure that you get as devastating effect as possible down range

Audio recordings do not have the range to capture the true sound of artillery. Compare the sound of fireworks experience in real life to news reports of the same event. Also Hollywood has distorted people's perception of gunfire; especially handguns and rifles. The sounds in movies are very much drawn out and given deeper resonance, where an actual gunshot is more like a firecracker. A very quick and sharp sound.
It's because if they made it any louder the crowd would need to wear ear protection which would be a liability they explain it at some point early in the vid
Also... they're obviously not shooting real projectiles. I don't know if they do that in America, but for one they probably wouldn't shoot projectiles in such populated area. A projectile would create recoil, and the projectile traveling through the barrel would make a loud boom sound aswell.
