Grifter 182 tabs for most jimmy Eat World songs, anything from Bleed American and on aren’t really necessary haha as they’re mostly just power chords. They’re always in drop D, no matter what, and for this song, it’s also in drop D, just with a capo on the 1st fret. In this video, he must be tuned down half a step, so he put the capo on 2 but that’s now how it’s actually played. For the breakdown, the correct way to play the guitar is 6 on high E, 4 on B and 7 on D, and you just hold ur fingers there and actually let the chords rings out. I’m not in front of a guitar at the moment, so I could be wrong on the exact finger placement, but I know it’s close. On the final part of that, there is a moment where you move your fingers up in almost the same placement, then return to the placement I mentioned above. Hope that helps!
i love how into it you get in this cover, that's how this song makes me feel. plus your tone is exact i want a twangy tone like that so bad. that improv solo was so tasteful too
This album has some of the best tones ever.
jasonmoriparty I reference this album often when searching for tones in the studio.
They hit a grand slam with the production for sure. Clarity and Bleed American were outstanding as well, but they added a new dimension with this one.
@@ryanhayes5475 couldn’t agree more! The atmosphere is just otherworldly on this one
Thanks for uploading this man. I've been able to figure out the riff thanks to this video after struggling to find a decent tab for days!
Great cover. This song is a great example of how one chord in the verse can still sound awesome.
You and i both covered this on guitar playing the opposite guitar parts, so rad :D
Dude your cover is so good, for the first 30 seconds i couldn't even make out that your were playing along. Good job

Killer tone man
BobSince1981 thanks. the bare knuckle piledriver pickups are great
What tuning is this in
drop Db with a capo on the 2nd fret
Well done, sir!
Stewart White thanks!
Mind if I ask what setup you were using? I feel like I'm always chasing that tone, but rarely satisfied with my results.
Stewart White pretty sure i was using my axe fx ultra for the amp sounds. likely a mesa boogie model and i was using bare knuckle piledriver pickups
Do you have tabs for this song?
I don't
What tuning are you playing in?
it's drop D capo'd on the 2nd fret. can't remember if JEW tunes to e flat or not though, so it could be drop C sharp capo'd on 2nd fret
Hello Control they use both e flat and c#. And thick 13s for strings
Someone please tell me the mausic playing at 0:00
JohnDuctual Master jon poulin - haste
littleredguitars2 thanks
must be awkward to look so enthused playing the same chord for like 40 seconds haha
