Point of correction, Mikel is not trash talking Nicholas Jackson, he is only saying the truth all of us know, that Jackson is a gifted striker but needs an experience all action strike he would learn from, that will push Jackson to perform better. And also help Chelsea to finish at least 4th place this season
I have been saying for YEARS, like almost everyone, that Jackson is not enough. Jackson is a squad level striker, and our only other striker, is an 18 year old 3rd rate striker. Nkunku failed to fit that number 9 role and is probably now on his way out any minute. Not having any other striker besides Jackson, for this long now, is damn right stupid. Combine this with some of our atrocious buying, if we fail to make top 4 this year, we all know why, and I would like those responsible in the MGMT to be fired immediately! : )
I’d just like to have Chalobah, Geuhi, Tomori, and Colwil as your CBs. High skilled Cobham lads. Get rid of the mercenaries. You need CBs with heart to win leagues.
Mikel is 💯 percent right. We need another striker to compete with Jackson. Drogba is never at any point the only good striker in Chelsea. At some points, there was Anelka, Shevshenko, Tores, etc. Why do we think that only Jackson can help Chelsea succeed? I like Jackson, and he can even play on the flank with another striker in the pitch.
Is why i liked Mourinho. He could play all midfielders from defence to striking depending on the game. Anyone could play anywhere as long as we were looking for a point
100% spot on about Chalobah... I've been scratching my head on that move... Chalobah is Chelsea... Plus we don't have to spend any money... get Guihi this summer if available but if not so what... but spend on a striker in January...
Respectfully, that is absolutely insane. The revisionism on Chalobah is out of control. He was a mediocre player for 85% of his Chelsea career, he’s been frozen out by three different managers because he wasn’t good enough.
@@Timothy_Bhe made the Roman teams when levels were world class. These owners messed his development up big time. U 23s? Disrespectful clowns upstairs
@ bro levels? 🤣 the Roman teams? You been a fan for 5 minutes? He played one season under Roman where we were crap and limped into third place. He played in all nine of our last games where we only won once.
@@Timothy_B chalobah is only being frozen out because the owners want pure profit it's nothing to do with him as a player honestly chalobah came back towards the end of last season and was one of the reasons we made it to sixth and the disrespect shown to chalobah is immense he is better than most of our center backs and he's in my opinion slightly ahead of colwill and fofana
For me the manager did not do any homework on how to Chelsea were playing at the end of last season 2 players who are better than what we have at the start of the season and currently is Trevor Challabah and Petrovic in goal. It’s really dum to send away 2 players who are better than what we have. I wouldn’t blame Challabah if he didn’t come back after the way he was treated.
Come to think of it... What if Reece settles our RCB problem? He's done that under TT & cancelling the RB sprints could save his hamstring for good! How about that???
If we want top 4 this season geuhi is the signing to make. We need his leadership, not only does it improve out defence but it will help elevate someone like colwill. Geuhi is both footed can also cover in LCB. Solid signing and I’m sure he will improve moving to a better side
Will be good choice to recall chalobah, Alessandro Bastoni will be a good choice to buy but got to sell disasi & badashile. For striker can go for Benjamin Šeško or Dušan Vlahović or Paulo Dybala.
George, that wasn't trash talk but constructive criticism and statements of fact, Nicolas Jackson is a good player but no harm in having a helping ✋ hand for the benefit of the team.
Guys we NEED Osimhen in our team, just think of the profile, he is so dangerous in the air, he bullies defences and can kick a ball from anywhere and score, Jackson is very run in behind up close and personal with the keeper, both very good and can both be utilised in different games
But did Mikel lie in his podcast? He spoke the utter truth, bitter but true. Jackson needs to improve and we also need a striker that can connect to most of our crosses.
I agree with John Obi. Dude played for Chelsea for 11 yrs when Chelsea was Chelsea. Jackson is letting us down. You can’t be a center forward who scores on goal in 5 straight games.
If we wanted to strengthen our attack; Barcelona are looking at Jonathan David from Lille, the more i see this guy play im convinced he´s the real deal. We should swoop in for him in January imo, he is not expensive and not on a large salary either. Have a look at his stats he has consistently been banging in goals for 4-5 seasons and he´s only 24. The only way we are getting Osimhen is if we blow our salary cap, guy wants more than 300k a week, and i dont see that happening. But he is the best option if we think he will meet our demands. People are talking about Alexander Isak, but he aint leaving Newcastle - where he is the star man - to go and fight for his place at Chelsea. He´s earning around 125k a week now so he wouldn't jump massively in wages either from joining us. I dont see that happening.
What mikels problem is - Jackson is a backup striker for a title winning team mate not 1 st choice never challenge for title with him ...man misses billion chances
Let's be honest if our CB options were Colwill Chalobah Guehi and Tomori, we would be no worse off than we are now. And would have saved millions on transfer fees
Initially I wasn’t to fussed about losing Trevor but I underestimated him. Even Guehi we shouldn’t have let go his wages weren’t extortionate, but, we are forgetting about Gilchrist why not re-call him? Nkunku needs to stay he is a great player but he needs some game time, he is better than our second choice.
@ maybe, but he’s doing well at Sheffield United, it’ll be no different than bringing the Argentinian lad back from his loan spell except Alfie has the experience and is already settled.
I really don’t know what you all see in Nicolas Jackson, he is clueless and not a strikers backside, we need a striker like Liam De Lap forceful, strong, alert and aware who will put away the ones Jackson wastes if he can remain on his feet!
I wouldn’t mind Chelsea going after that Ipswich striker, get a center back Marc Guehi will be my first option, bringing back Chaloboah is also very welcomed
One and half year showed Jackson is not enough to lead the club to top 4. The defense is below average. The wingers still not provide adequate goal and assist. The couch has to fix these three areas. The biggest mistake of the club this season is not signing Osmehin permanently or on loan.
Jackson is young and good. He is maturing well. He has improved from last season. Sell Disasi, KDH, Badiashile, Chilwel, Nkunku, etc. Estevao is coming, Bring back Santos in midfield and Petrovic in Goal, Buy Sancho and Felix. Buy a serious mature defender. We need a commander in defence. Maresca should vary his playing system. Only one system can not beat all other teams systems.
Chelsea will NOT finish in top 4 because Maresca is openly stating that the only expectation from the owners is improvement from last year. Therefore the players got the message that they do not need to fight for top 4.
Mikel was absolutely right. Jackson is not the striker for a top club like Chelsea. George, you yourself have said that much in your other videos, so what’s your problem with Mikel? Which other top clubs in the major leagues do you think Jackson will lead their front line?
Every Icon, Legend and former player has every right to comment on current players and their performance. Especially Mikel who won everything with the club. Plus Mikel suffered worse criticism when he was 18 years old at Chelsea. He knows what he is talking about when standards aren't being met. Go listen to his podcast with JT, Lamps, Jose, Cech, etc. They all say the same thing. Jackson (like some of the current players and new fans) made the mistake to think Mikel can't criticize any of them. If they can't accept it, they can go to another club.
I’m shocked, thinking Chelsea priority is a defender, it’s a striker we need, it is pointless to just stick with Jackson game in game out, and Nkunku clearly wants away. Even for his own state of mind Jackson needs time on the bench
I think that even though I love Trev, it is better to take Guehi. Financially, Guehi would be at 55M spread over 5 or 6 years. Trev will be pure profit and Crystal will raise the loan with Guehi's money.
How would the sell-on clause we have with Guehi affect the sale? Like do we end up paying less? And is Palace going to hold out for more from us because of it?
Striker Marc Guiui is young, but how much more "all-rounded" than his last hat-trick of left foot, right foot and header for Chelsea do you want him to be?
Bringing Trev back is the better idea. I think Guehi is a good player but not the kind of centre back we need. While I don't think Trev is perfect he's closer to it and would be cheaper
Guehi will cost 60m +, probably nearer the 80m mark. Is it really worth buying him when all we have to do is recall Trevor for nothing? Or wait til the end of the season and get Guehi at a more competitive price.
Chelsea should prioritise on clinical striker , Chelsea don't concede more goals than the chances of scoring goals missed... Jackson alone misses more than 3 open chances every match ... don't sell him but he should learn from a top striker.. competition is good for players to step up.
The issue with OBI MIKEL is having played with top strikers such as DROGBA, the legend; ANELKA; and COSTA, who won championships and Champions League, he therefore knows a top striker when he sees one, and JACKSON isn't one or has not reached that level yet. At this rate of spiralling out of control, if we don't sign OSIMHEN, then we will finish out of top 8 and moan forever while seeing the momentum gone. HE KNOWS MORE ABOUT FOOTBALL THAN GEORGE BENSON !
Facts are Facts. Nicholas Jackson will NOT take us to UCL position this season. We have Zero Centre Backs. Resolve at least one of these 2 issues and UCL position finish at least will be guaranteed. CFC need to swallow their pride and RUN back to Osimhen with a proper offer worthy of his status. Let me remind you and other Osimhen was 5th best in Fifa award and 8th best in Balloon D"or just last season! With a striker better than Jackson CFC will either be on the same points with Liverpool or even above them. CFC should have won Everton, Crystal Palace and Fulham if we a striker that is effective in goal situations and CFC should have scored first in the Ipswich game and if Chelsea have scored before them, who knows may be the outcome could have been different! Recall of Chalobah and the Argentine defender with Tosin+Colwell+Acheapong as CB could be enough for the season.
So the script is out, Chalobah or Guéhi? What gap is Chelsea trying to plug, CB or CB/RB? Who offers more bang for the money? Is this a temporary fix (James, Lavia, Fofana, all fully fit and available eventually or manageable, damaged goods)? One on loan, versatile, academy player, former captain, doing very well at CP, scoring goals, strong aerially, not often injured, available for all games, not a delinquent, has a return clause. But is he the best CB pairing to anchor Chelsea's defense? Or does his versatility prove an invaluable asset - RB, LB, a fifth defender or a holding midfielder role for - Lavia, rotation for Caicedo/Fernández? Guéhi, CB, Crystal Palace captain, England CB, doing very well at Palace, starting every game, a leader on and off the pitch. What does Chelsea do with Fofana and Anselmino? Is Anselmino the next Badiashile or Colwill back-up? But he is a CP player and it's mid season, with time left on his contract. So is Chelsea just fixing its CB issues or looking for more? Very interesting how this team is being molded. Under Pochettino, our best RAM, was Palmer. But we had no ten as Nkunku was injured and not fit. Madeuke, Mudryk and Sterling, all underwhelmed on the wings. Hence acting as trialists were an unfit Nkunku and Jackson, as best available interim back-ups. Patched one hole but not the best solution. Allowed Jackson to develop as a nine and Madeuke to grow as an RAM. Not the ideal solutions but manageable. CFC gets Veiga, Sancho, Neto, Felix and our attacking options change. More help for Palmer, Jackson and Madeuke. Maresca fancies Fernández as an 8, like Lampard. Pairing him with Palmer vs using Nkunku as our offensive maestros. Eventhough in those dark days, we saw how magical he connected with Palmer/Jackson. So a different set of dynamics at play. Now surplus, decison made - Jackson on top, Sancho/Fernández/Palmer/Neto round out the attack. Caicedo cannot cover all the gaps for the inverted LB/RB. Lavia injured. Chukwuemeka is in the wasteland. Casadei seldom used. Dewsbury-Hall not on the scorecard. Ogochuku on loan. Santos on loan. Veiga recovering from misdemeanors. James injured, Disasi poor form, Acheampong young, inexperienced and thrown into the lion's den, Gusto not back to last year's form and struggling in the inverted role but will play any position his coach chooses, Adarabioyo a free CB pick-up who was meant to be an occasional relief for Fofana and not a regular starter. Fofana injured, pathway to rehab, surgery or not, to be determined. Colwill improving in the LCB role but needs a mentor as Silva was pushed out. Badiashile was to relieve Colwill as an option but also injured. No LB but an inverted ALB is more suited to Cucurella. Goalkeeping like the striker option, is a club preference. It is what it is. Hence not title chasing but top 6. With the resurgence of Manchester City, Newcastle and Forest in third, Chelsea's 4 th place looks very precarious. No CL, less $$$$ from sponsors, less merchandise sales. Our next moves to address our defensive woes are critical.
What do you mean that Nkunku ain't a striker? In France he is a striker and he scores for the team, in Leipzig he was a striker and he scored infact given a golden boot. I think that Maresca has a hate on Nkunku coz even in the conference he is still the top scorer.....just give him a chance and the man power he needs from both enzo and someone like Olmo the guy will unleash his dragon boots
Chalobah would be great but it’s a lie that he’s doing amazing at palace. He’s not. Guehi has leadership (which we have literally 0 of). Guehi is the one
Point of correction, Mikel is not trash talking Nicholas Jackson, he is only saying the truth all of us know, that Jackson is a gifted striker but needs an experience all action strike he would learn from, that will push Jackson to perform better. If Fofana is doubtful for rest of season, get Trev back and review end of season. Save PSR issues for another day.
He doesn't need to be doubtful for the rest of the season. The fact remains that Trev is an upgrade.
Guehi is a better long-term solution/partnership for Colwill. I just don’t know about Fofana’s injury record.

Buy Marc and Bring Back Trev and Lone Alex to Palace

We need a striker mate
Only one Challobah
Palace fans i know say Chalobah has been poor for them
Cannot brush Mikel's comments if you're a true Chelsea fan.
Sign Osimhen, drop Jackson into Nkunku’s role until he develops more, continue to give Marc G opps when Jackson doesn’t fit.
The January transfer window will decide whether Chelsea will be in the Champions League.
