    Does Dr. Pimple Popper know how to remove cat blackheads? 😅 Today let's clean the cat's chin and remove all the blackheads. I squeeze a big blackhead on Belly's chin. All of my cats are indoor cats. They eat the same food. They use glass and ceramic bowls. But some of them got Acne, and Some of them did not. Why?🤷‍♀️

      It’s multiple grooming sessions since birth or getting them to where it’s routine and they tolerate it well. Treats help in getting them there. My dwarf cat use to hate baths at 6 months when we first got her, hated them to the core, I even got a cat nail through my nail and through half my finger and a full scratch down my entire thigh, hurt like a bitch too, but she’s a long hair and dwarfed in leg reach so she couldn’t groom herself as well. By year 2 of a bath every month, she was laying in the sink, timid but tolerant. By age 3 she was laying and purring as I scrubbed her down. It’s routine and learning to take the freak outs until they realize it’s not harmful. Giving them treats during and after helps. Stopping when they had enough too and just calling it a day until they start getting used to it. Learning their perfect temperatures, pressures, positions, and reading their cues when they have had enough or are starting to freak out 😅 Just don’t give up after a freak out and keep on trying and they will eventually learn they are safe, it doesn’t hurt, it was just 99% fear. Don’t stress them too much of course because that’s dangerous and it doesn’t build much trust, but some stress will happen. In the beginning sometimes I only got her butt and vagina and that’s okay. Just repeat the next week as a routine until they gradually tolerate more with grooming.

    FYI for any cat parents out there. These blackheads can sometimes be caused by dirty food and water bowls as well as plastic bowls. If you clean the bowls regularly and switch to stainless steel bowls it will reduce or eliminate this condition. Good luck! Cute video!😊

      У моей кошки всегда были стеклянные миски. Но акне было, когда кормила кошачьим кормом. С переходом на натуральную еду акне прошло.

      Y'all, this is flea grit. There may have been one actual pimple, but the rest is flea poo. These are beautiful, well-loved kitties, obviously well-accustomed to dedicated, hands-on care from their human.
      But they have some level of flea infestation. While the flea poo itself is mostly unsightly, the fleas themselves can harbor parasites like tapeworms. So unfortunately, a round of the Vet's more expensive flea medication for everyone, dose everyone for tapes, wash bedding, and vacuum your whole world. It'll be okay. You can beat it.

    • @KattReen
      @KattReen 2 года назад +5

      You can gently use a regular soft toothbrush, or gently rub with a cotton pad. Still does the job. I only clean my cat's chin if he gets a big pimple, since it's messy when they eventuelly pop. He's fully unbothered by his acne, it's more high maintenance if it's more severe or the cat scratches their chin a lot since it can lead to infection.

  • @Neophrone
    @Neophrone Год назад +34

    My cat had the same problem. We’ve changed her bowl from plastic to bigger (so her chin doesn’t touch a bowl when she’s eating) stainless steel (ceramic should work too) bowl. Also we wash her bowl before each meal. In addition we changed her dry food diet (lower percentage of fat). Now she’s fine. But keep in mind that it’s a long process, took like 2 months for us to get rid of it.

  • @mendicantcrow
    @mendicantcrow Год назад +7

    My first cat used to get blackheads on his chin. Changing bowls didn't help either (and we washed bowls between every meal). The vet said that just tends to happen with some young male cats. We had to give him daily chin washes with special perscribed soap, and it eventually cleared up. Then we only had to do it occaisionally. Now, he's grown out of it completely

    We had a cat years ago that we’d left for a long weekend, came home and her chin was completely black and inflamed. We first thought she’d gotten into a fight with our other and took her to the vet. They told us she had an extreme case of feline acne most likely caused by the stress of leaving her for a couple days. It was so bad she needed medication that cleared it. Never was it recommended to pop them out or clean them but oh the satisfaction I would have had popping them all out!!!

    • @angelabrown1992
      @angelabrown1992 2 года назад +29

      It doesn't look "bloody",but looking at it when it has a bit of water on it..the brush, you can see on the bristles, there is a darker color...that could be seen as blood, in a larger concentration. My first thought was flea dirt...or just dirt in general. I have a Chinese Crested dog and she has blackheads, whiteheads, pus filled cysts....all kinds of acne.

    My cats don't have any of that; a female tortie and a male Oriental. I have scratch pads that have bristles at eye level of them that they rub themselves on and seems to regulate a lot of grooming/brushing (older kits). As it's "acne" it doesn't affect every feline just like acne doesn't affect every person.

    Switch to stainless steel bowls and dishes. They harbor less bacteria, and therefore are less likely to cause blackheads in the first place.. or clean your ceramic bowls much more frequently like daily with an antibacterial dish soap and be sure they are rinsed very clean. Ceramic is a porous material that let's bacteria grow and thrive and is then transfred to your cats chin when they eat, causing the cat acne.

    if you wanna quickly get rid of the little bits of dirt, a flea comb is much faster and less rubbing for the cat to deal with
