Is there a way to have 2 separate stock bodies? I want to do 2 operations in one GibbsCAM file but I can't get gibbs to associate each stock body with a separate CS.

Wish there was more guides etc for Gibbscam out there. MasterCam and Fusion got loads of community content and forums, while Gibbs got .... You and a broken offical forum which you can't register to. You plan on doing guides on requests? :)

@@GibbsCAMVideoTutorials I've been learning Gibbs bit by bit through trial and error, but there's 3 "issues" I can't seem to figure out. 1) Fixtures, mainly jaws on a chuck (vices on a mill is easy). 2) Actual explanation of the different 5axis tabs, very little info and it always bugs out if you swap between different toolpaths in search of one you're happy with because it remembers settings from one toolpath which you can't adjust in the new toolpath. The whole 5axis part is a headache. 3) How to actually use Gibbs on a more complex part without having the program looking like it was made by someone who's drunk. 15 planes with bad names, several workgroups filled with extracted lines, a bunch of models in the bodybag because "gotta delete that fillet for gibbs to make a good toolpath" ends up with yet another model as modifying current model in the slightest ruins the other ops. And then simulating the last feature you're working on but having to constantly skipping forward to reach that one toolpath you wanna sim becomes real tedious. Would love an example of how to have a structured program, call it good gibbs ethics if you'd like.

@@Mokkisjeva That's a lot of information you have there. Are you talking about MTM (live turning lathes) or are you talking about 5-axis milling on a vertical mill? There are 5-axis "position only milling" and 5-axis (simultaneous milling). Let me know which one you are talking about and I can create a video that will hopefully help.

@@GibbsCAMVideoTutorials I'm in a 5axis millturn lathe. It's always a battle to get good toolpaths when chamfering wierd pockets on an od, and trying the 5axis simuntanious ops i get the strangest of toolpaths. B-axis going through part and endmill wants to mill through the part from oposit side of chamfer etc... point is, these ops are hard to figure out. So many settings and very vague descriptions.
