Here is my piano arrangement of the ending theme "My Star" from the Final Fantasy XVI soundtrack.
For the arrangement I basically transcribed the piano accompaniment and just added the melody on top. Keeping most of the embellishments in the accompaniment results in some large jumps, but if you just leave them out, the piece is not that hard to play.
My next big FF16 arrangement will be "Ascension" (Bahamut's theme). This will probably take more than two weeks though, so there will be an easier piece inbetween.

Beautiful arrangement. I love how many different versions of Jill's theme are played throughout the game.
I think my favorite version of her theme is the one that's played during the beach scene, it's called "Not Alone".
It's very similar to My Star, but it's pure piano, no vocals. Would love to see you make an arrangement of that one.

You play this song beautifully! VERY lovely! You play with feeling! ...I have a quick question. My husband's birthday is coming up soon! Ironically, our twins, my husband, and myself all have December birthdays! ...I am a soprano, so the tessitura of this song is low for me! But, it also wouldn't sound bad with an operatic voice! I am a CNA, but my musical background is opera. I definitely want to sing this song live to my husband on his birthday! He IS "my star," the only man in the world who I want to have a romantic relationship with! In his way, he is kind of like Zidane from ff 9! :D ...If I decide to also make a RUclips video at a later date and time, can I use your recording as a karaoke track? Of course, I would include a link to your profile in the background of the video, and give you full credit for playing so beautifully! What do you think? Take care. Susan

If this version works for you, that's fine, but I actually still have the MIDI of this, so it wouldn't be a lot of work for me to edit out the melody notes or change the key (the original should be the same as 'Aria of the Soul') if that's more comfortable for you :)

I had a good friend who sang Fiordiligi with Des Moines Metro Opera. She told me to always thoroughly research opera roles. I've been listening to French folk songs today, and I realized something major! My Star, a couple of theme songs from the Charles Dance miniseries version of POTO, the ALW Title Song and Overture, and they are both musical stretches, but even Aria of the Soul and Who will Know from Shin Godzilla all have a similar chord structure! I think that they are all based on the same anonymous French folk song! THAT one blew my mind!
@@callio-p Hi, again! I practiced My Star this morning, and it will fit in my range, in this original key! The chest voice notes are not that dissimilar from Christine's first verse of the Title Song from ALW's Phantom of the Opera. And, since My Star has roughly a two octave range, I will "flip" into head voice in the higher parts of the song. Head voice is where I am naturally stronger, since I am a soprano. I think that this is going to work in my voice! If (and this is a BIG if) I can figure out how to do the first part of Aria of the Soul using just the piano part as a karaoke track, taking part of it down an octave, and then sing My Star using your track, and then sticking the second half of Aria of the Soul after My Star, I think that would be an interesting arrangement, musically! It would be like a huge ABA form. I don't know if I can pull it off, though, and mix it all together! I have a friend, though, that may be able to teach me how to do this! I turn 50 later on this month, and my age is very much working against me, here, when it comes to technology!! Lol! 😆 Take care. Thanks again! Susan
Volume kinda low. Had to max mines to hear it normally
Thanks for letting me know! It's not that extreme for me but definitely a bit quieter than it should be. I always check the volume before uploading but RUclips somehow seems to lower the volume of some of my videos. I don't really know why that happens but I'd guess that maybe the peak volume is too high so that RUclips takes the whole video down a bit. I'll try to fix that for my next videos
