When Francis dispatched people in the 1st round, it was pure power, and in his earlier days very very little technique. When Tom Asipinall does it, it's power and technique in equal measure. I totally understand why Jones doesn't want this fight. Tom is younger, quicker, a better striker, more power, moves like a welterweight, he can wrestle (maybe not to Jon's level but he can), he's a BB in Jiujitsu. There aren't many avenues for Jon to go down to find success in the Aspinall fight, so when he says "that fight does nothing for me"...believe him. It really doesn't.
Dana was doing some firefighting on the Jim Rome show earlier after Jones's ducking media day but he says there will be no BMF fight with Alex and if he wants to fight again after saturday, it'll be against Aspinall.

People are taking this way too seriously. The Stipe / Jones fight was in the works long before Tom was in the position he’s in now. He’s going to beat Stipe and retire, as he should. Only people who want to see him lose want him to keep fighting until he does.
