- I'm still alive! To celebrate feeling well again I started a PC Scrap Marathon! 100 PC's needed to go so that was my first up challenge, to clear the driveway to make way for more scrap.

I rebuild PC's in this condition and sell them to family's who can't afford newer machines. it's almost painful to watch this but I understand your motives.

He got them for free and you can too , by doing the same thing, find them, pick them up.. don't just drive past. do what you want with the ones you collect. no biggie if a few get scrapped.

I like recycling , but dam , some of those PC had some LIFE left in them.... Just a shame to them destroyed like that...

He doesn’t seem to really know what he’s doing. He’s just pulling them apart and selling the parts individually on eBay. Some of the older stuff he got is actually worth more because it’s hard to find and some people like to build windows 95 or 98 for retro gaming. He clearly doesn’t care about that he’s just trying to make money

@@WhosThisPersonNotMe That would be a hard thing to educate yourself on if you aren't genuinely interested. The catalog of hardware that might be valuable to collectors would be very long. It might not even be worth the time investment to learn.

Most of these computers parts would have sold for more than they are worth scrap. Most of them still have life in them. I saw quite a few Business PC's you can sell to places like schools that need computers for more than you would get worth in scrap. It seems such a waste to scrap these systems. Some places really need old computers that you can still just about run a modern OS on like a school with a "low" budget like my school in the UK. The government is constantly cutting schools budgets so my school i having to get older computers like most of these that are just a bit faster and more capable of running things like their current ones. Would be nice to see you sell them on as working PC's to places instead of wasting them for scrap money.

Have you ever tried to sell old computer kit on eBay? Its a massive time hole...

But, I strip 10 at a time maybe, not 100...
I used to flip computers and laptops as a sideline and honestly it was very easy and not that time consuming. I would purchase bulk Dell optiplex's and various educational and workstations. Sometimes just hitting deals on ebay. I would dust them up and stack like 5 on my bench then start a fresh windows install on all of them, one after the other. All and all I would probably spend about 10 minutes per computer. Now, I get the point of volume but some of these computers were worth WAY more than scrap value. He essentially turned 150$ computers into 15$ computers...

i als othink it is ahrd to watch some of the machines get scraped, but people in the comments fail to think about the knowledge as to what to save or what not to save. and the time it takes to test the machines, yes one could have a list of models to keep for testing etc. but when making a living, yyou just need to turnover as much as possible as fast as possible is my best guess
Just a heads up: when reselling motherboards make sure to remove the IO plate from the case and include it with the motherboard.

I just finished processing 31 pounds of computer ends to get the gold off the pins. It took me 8 full hours with no break to get them prepared! I watched your videos the entire time brother!🙂
I can't stand them Dell 650. There is nothing to them and no BGA.
P.S. take 1 table spoon of honey every morning. Your energy will jump back in a few day of doing this. This is whats i do to keep things moving!

I had a parasite that I picked up in Colorado forty years ago. It was nasty. The Docs finally figured it out and gave me some heavy duty medicine. It made my body really sensitive to bad food. I get the runs real quick (usually within 30-40 mins), but 30 mins later I'm fine. The body never really forgets it. I'm with you on this. Get better. By the way, I got it from bad water.

I'm sorry to hear about your recent health problems. Even though we've seen you scrap out most of this stuff before, it's always entertaining to just hear you talk about stuff. Hopefully you'll feel good again soon and best regards from Germany! :)
Try turning all those cases into sleeper builds. After that, donate them to various companies to help increase the economy.

You would probably get more for the cases if you stripped off the plastic. Here in New Zealand the scrap metal merchants pay a lot less if the steel has plastic on it.

@Ran Ng Anything what has at least a Core2Duo CPU is still perfectly usable in 2019.
I would take parts from another computer and make it a gameing PC But I won’t cut the cables For the power supply or the front cover
I had appliances I put to the street.. BOTH had $60-$70 dollar 240W power cords in perfect condition. Rather than take the time to disconnect them from the appliances they CUT them off and traded selling them for $50 dollars each to maybe $8.00 worth of copper for both. Probably less.
@Ran Ng they sell good money old machines as a lot older games run on them like old doom i got on floppy still.

the way you take computers apart and then sell them on ebay... and watching this video makes me NOT to buy from you atall..
1. you trowing the the parts making things bend or get realy damaged & will fail overtime
2. There are some systems like Older ones worth more $$ for retro computer collectors. instead of scrapping them. sell the whole computer.

Hes literally cutting the power supplys and possibly selling them, how can he sell a non-working power supply, and the 2nd pc had ribbon cables, YEET like bro, if your gonna sell those, dont break them before selling them. CPU YEET, Heatsink YEET, Ram YEET, Everything im gonna sell, YEET

Another Good Scrapping Video Ben. You sure made a couple of kids cry watching this video. 😆.. Someone said " save every screw for sale " 😆 for Christ sake! If you folks are heart broken about this, how about if someone sold you 100 units of pentium 4's for $15 a piece? Hmmmm... Even core 2 duos? Would you buy it? Would you apply your suggestions here? Its easy to talk and have a million ideas until the material is in your hands and you look at the market for used parts not to mention your chinese competitor, consider the labor that needs to be done and a whole lot of other things. I am pretty sure Ben knows EXACTLY what he is doing from experience so relax and enjoy. He will scrap your dream car next and gut the catalytic converter for palladium recovery 😆

Hi Ben. I agree it's a little bit strange about that rumor. But on the other hand, it shows that there is a kind of community and that they take interest in one another. I'm glad to hear that you're recovering and thank God for that. Thank you for sharing not only your highs while street scrapping or while doing awesome/ interesting stuff, and pouring molten metals, but also that you had a down. Man tend not to talk about such stuff.

did you ever get shot of those masses of dvr recorders you had next to the garage? i recall the piles were near shoulder high! maybe that could be a multi part (say 25 to 50 a time) get shot of challenge? like a pile a time or something! imagine all that space you could regain!
