In one of Wayne May's presentations I remember him saying the Nephites built their cities in the earthworks built by the Jaredites, and that all they'd really need to do was replace the wood timber of the walls. There is a scripture reference that supports this idea. It's found in The Book of Mormon in Ether 13:20-22:
"And in the second year the word of the Lord csne to Ether, that he should go and prophesy unto
Coriantumr that, if he would repent, and all his household, the Lord would give unto him his kingdom and spare the people -.
"Otherwise they should be destroyed, and all his household save it were himself. And he should only live to see the fulfilling of the prophecies which have been spoken concerning another people receiving the land for their inheritance; and
Coriantumr should receive a burial by them; and every soul should be destroyed save it were
    Coriantumr.
"And it came to pass that
Coriantumr repented not, neither his household, neither the people; and the wars ceased not; and they sought to kill Ether, but he fled from before them and hid again in the cavity of the rock."
I think this means the extent of the moundbuilders was also the extent of the Jaredites. Poverty Point was their primary trade hub with other parts of the world, and the Olmec Civilization would have been Jaredite colonies, not their direct governed areas. As the Jaredites destroyed each other, the Olmec region lost its support of supplies and so was abandoned. International trade was completely disrupted resulting in the abandonment of the Poverty Point trade hub.
In Ether 14, it's said Coriantumr would take all the people with him from every land he passed through, and Shiz destroyed every city he passed through slaying everyone and burning the cities. People gathered themselves together in armies to join Coriantumr or Shiz. The entire land gets emptied. Therefore the family of Lehi can inherit the land.

When you show the menorah at approx. 55:30 that is a 9 branch menorah which was first used to celebrate the victory over the Macabees which was almost 430 years after Lehi left Jerusalem and the 7 branch menorah was sacred and could only be used inside the temple. Do you have any thoughts as to how they would have come to have this symbol?

These parallels with book of Mormon timelines really show plausibility of the Book...that Joseph's timelines match so closely the validated timelines of current archaeology continues that validation. The knowledge of where and who does not matter as much for the verification of the Book of Mormon...at least when compared to the necessity of identifying those people to their history in fulfillment of the prophecy of the hearts of the children turning to their fathers...this is a link to their genealogy and family history...for that purpose it is essential to connect the dots. The Spirit of Elijah will open doors and windows to bring that to pass ..both with the peoples of north America and central and South...all of us need to be connected to our ancestors. The Book of Mormon is one history...there are more yet to be uncovered.

I am from the Kanawha Valley, West Virginia. Around 1960, a boy dug up a skull, near the river. It was an Indian skull. W.V.I.T. excavated the area, It had been an Adena Village. Many skeletons were discovered. On the mountain above the river was a long wall. Legend says white Indians and dark Indians fought there. The college ran out of funds for the project and strip mining destroyed the wall. This history of these Lamanites and Nephites was destroyed .

I find it interesting that Randy Bachman left the church because the first tests of the DNA in the tribesmen of North America indicated that there was no connection to Hebrew ancestry. I've been following the DNA growth and Sciences since it started, only from a distance but I knew that at that time they did not have the ability to link the tribesmen to their ancient past. Now that we have haplogroup markers, something that they hadn't even thought of yet for all intensive purposes. We now know that a considerable number of the Hopewell tribesmen have a haplogroup marker of x1a, which is consistent with every Hebrew group on the planet.
You must understand that the church is run by humans. On his last address to any congregation, Joseph Smith named and pointed out where the people were that were his enemy, and basically who would murder him. They were on the podium behind him as he spoke and he stated that. The two that were with him and his brother were the ones who killed them. I have been studying gunfights for a long time when I finally decided to look at the incident in question. It is painfully obvious that and engage gunfight occurred inside their room which caused all but one wound on Hiram and the blunt force trauma that knocked out Joseph Smith, and he was eventually pushed out the window because he died of a broken neck, not of gunshot wounds by what would be considered today extremely powerful large caliber weapons. All but one of the gunshot wounds, including the 42 John Richards were fired by either Hiram or Joseph Smith. Richard's explained it to John Taylor's Doctor, Who seems to be the first one to enter the room. That he hid in the corner while everything occurred, but he then couldn't explain how Joseph Smith got pushed out the window. Joseph Smith was not shot in any way that would have disabled him. All of this set, I understand that there was a conspiracy within the church who rid themselves of Joseph and Hyrum because they didn't want to get caught doing things that Joseph was vehement Lee opposed to. Again within a decade or so after Joseph death, the church was doing things precisely opposed to directives from Joseph Smith. But it took them a while to manipulate the documents to look like Joseph was somehow behind it. The church survived those decades because that behavior is what got them in trouble the most and still is a sore spot today. As it should be. But that does not mean to leave the church because there's evil people within the church. There are evil people everywhere and there are good people everywhere. You have to have the strength of spirit to maintain your own sanity in the midst of these.

@Ronald Dunlap As I understand it, the church's final headquarters is supposed to be in Independence, Missouri because that's allegedly where the Garden of Eden was located.
Now as to when exactly church hq is supposed to relocate there Idk other than it is supposed to happen sometime shortly before the Second Coming starts. So, when church hq does move there, then there's apparently a specific amount of time left (that's of significant importance) before the commencement of the Second Coming although Idk if that period of time has ever been defined. I will have to research it. But Independence, MO is fairly heartland, is not it?

The problem with the Heartland Theory (Limited Georgraphy Model) is the drastic lack of evidence that really matches the history. There are interesting sites to be found there, but they are not BOM, they are Neolithic. You're not looking at BOM sites. You're looking at early Genesis sites. Pre-Noah.
If Adamondiaman is in the Heartland - these are the sites of the people of Adam, Pre-Flood.
For BOM sites, look at where there are depictions of men with beards. You are not going to find that in the Heartland region. You do find that down in the Mesoamerica region.
