This is really eye opening. I'm a social 7. When I watched an Enneagram summary with my husband and asked him to identify my type, he thought I was a 7 with elements of 2. I don't feel like a 2 inside but I see now that my behavior (specifically with my kids & clients) makes me appear 2ish. Some of my friends in the past misidentified me as a 9, I think because I'm generally likable and accepting and non-judgmental of others, but my husband said no way am I a 9. I'm pretty opinionated and assertive in a non-abrasive way, and I don't feel a strong need to please other people. His biggest "complaint" about me is that "Katie does what Katie wants" and it's really true. There's a sort of selfishness, that I don't think exists with 9's. But I don't think it's a selfishness meant to hurt others, rather to preserve one's own freedom. Thank you so much for your content. This is allowing me to understand better the sh*t in my own life, gain better self-understanding and acceptance, while also helping me to see how I can grow as a person, partner, parent and friend.

I think my father is a SP 7. He’s a car salseman, so strategy and manipulation are a big part of his job 😅. Always has sought pleasure over duty and responsibility. This has been his hamartia in life. He left when I was a kid and was always a distant and I always felt, somewhat flakey and disinterested, father. Even when I went for visitation, he always seemed rather bored with me and would pay attention to other things.

Just coming to terms with being sexual subtype 7. With 6 wing. And I'll top it off as an ENFP. What a beautiful mess! In taking the enneagram test I also score high as a 4. Wondering how that could be as many say the two types are opposite?
I believe that the sacred and the science are together as well, and that statement gives me more insight about you. Anywho, I had one seven friend, she reminded me of Poppie from Trolls 🤔. She knew how to compartmentalize her friendships which didn't always make me feel good. Are friendship was good until I stopped watering down my perspective which to her could be draining. She would always try to shift my thinking to a more positive outlook. I actually liked that about her because she could lift the weight that I didn't even know I was carrying. I remember her having to fast from things... Maybe that was because of the indulgence 🤷🏿♀️. She was very popular in school and I'd always tell her that majority of those people don't truly care about you, they just want your light needless to say, she didn't care.... She just wanted to have fun why I stayed observing from the cracks😳. 🤦♀️Omg, I am probably not gonna go back to that for a while 😂. Thanks Drew, I look forward to the next .
That assessment of her, your friend, aligns pretty right on with what I experienced with young 7’s… and unfortunately some old ones 😂 We can definitely push each other’s buttons. And, as always, I’d say science is sacred work and the sacred is scientific in its own right. They can’t really be untied unless you’re ignorant to how they are just all the beauty of creation

I think it is good for all numbers to take care of themselves first when it is a healthy taking care of yourself. Then you can give back to the world in a healthy way. Yes, it is possible. MBTI is how you think and cognitively function, whereas Enneagram is based on your motivations (The "Why" behind your actions), core fears, and core desires. Both MBTI and Enneagram (Including other personality typology systems) can shape/influence your characteristics and personality because of your focus and patterns.
