Thank you for showing and explaining how to cover up the scalp on the crown. The older I have gotten, the finer my hair is getting. I used to have double the amount of hair, so I never saw my scalp! I know it had to be difficult for you to show how you manipulate the brush slowly. You usually go really fast!! Slow mo really helped! Thank you!!
This was a perfect video! Brush styling and sectioning has been a weakness of mine especially with sectioning. I’m suffering with my gray hairs poking out and fly always 😭 This was an amazing video thank youuuuuu 🔥
I've never had good results from brush styling. I'm glad you did a video comparing your results from the different edges of the brush. Also good tip for covering up the scalp show, definitely struggle with that with my curls.
I really appreciate you continously updating brush styling videos, eapcecially with new brushes being released all the time. I've watched every video you've made, and have re watched your techniques with different brushes. Im getting better but being able to watch videos that give such helpful tips has been so helpful ❤
I’m still really struggling with the brush styling. I bought all the brushes and have watched so so so many videos. I think I missed the day they handed out girl skills or something. Love your videos Gina! I think I’m going to pay for a coach session
My hair before the cancer used to be ticker and straight 😳but after growing back it’s very very thin and curly frizzy 😱so I’m always on the hunt of the best products to make my hair look with volume and define curls ☺️Very informative video Gena 👍👏👌😊I’ll love to try that bounce curl volume brush I’ll. Cross my fingers to be one of the lucky ones 🤞🙏🤞🍀❤️ 🍀
I would love a tips and tricks video to make fine, low density seem thicker and fuller and any silicone free products that do this or add texture to finer hair. Thanks for a video each week, I look forward to them! 😊
I really think you are an expert at this Gena ! I followed your technique last night before a music concert I was performing in and I had some really juicy curls. Separating and brush styling works well for me. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to your channel. Congrats 🍾 xx
Thank you for sharing all your knowledge with us it’s greatly appreciated. I had hair very similar to yours but have recently been going through the menopause and struggling with an overactive thyroid which has caused havoc with my hair. My hair is less dense now due to hair loss and many products can make my hair go stringy. I enjoy watching your videos because you explain in detail why certain products can cause a problem and also give well researched reviews on products 🌟
I have that brush and struggle with sectioning my hair. I love how your directions are broken down to individual baby steps, it is such a help to me. ❤
You saved my curls. They were flat and barely there. I can't even begin to tell you how much time and money I spent trying to help them. And then I found your videos. My hair is healthy and curly again. I really appreciate the work you do here.
I started watching your videos in 2019 or 2020 I think? I was looking for styling suggestions while growing out a pixie cut. I ended up doing a deep dive into curly hair care and styling. Completely by accident😅. My whole life I really had no idea what to do with my hair that I thought was frizzy, puffy, and weird. Turns out it's just curly. My hair has never looked better. Thank you for being with me during this journey!
Your videos are a godsend….i’m still figuring my hair out and watch your videos everyday whether it is for a wash day or refresh or for styling techniques..Thankyou 😊😊😊
I started brush styling after I learned it from your videos! But I noticed the problem of my hair snapping off close to the root when I do this...I am using the Denman brush though... I never thought it was the rubber part of the brush damaging my hair... I guess I need a better brush because brush styling makes my curl look great! Thank you for the awesome curly girl knowledge❤️
Your videos are helpful and truly appreciated. I am new to the curly hair journey. I recently began using gel and a diffuser and wow what a difference!!! Goodbye frizz, hello cute bouncy curls 😁 I am trying different techniques to see what works best. After watching this video, I see why styling and diffusing upside down gave me a wonky crown 😂 And more importantly, I learned how to do it better next time around. Thanks for all the helpful tips and tricks ❤
Thanks for all the info! I'm letting my gray flag fly, and I am curly! ❤ Ixm growing it out from years of short pixie cuts, and it's about shoulder length now. I didn't realize I had all these curls, so I'm watching all I can!
Can you suggest some products for my fine wavy hair ? I often notice breakage while styling and washing. I live in a different country and don't have access to same products as you, so suggest the consistency of product and what i need to look for
I love how detailed and step by step your videos are. I also love how you give such honest reviews of the products that do or do not work for you. I struggle with the back/crown section of my hair splitting a bit because of my double crown/finer curls, and I feel like brush styling would help with this although it’s a bit out of my comfort zone and more time consuming.
My defrizzion dryer came and I am loving it! I need more practice with the brush styling, I'm not very patient but this is a great video showing the technique... Thank you for all your details!
I like the idea of brush styling horizontally. I can never seem to figure out which way my curls go so my success at brush styling has been hit or miss. Like you I have very thin curl clumps and I actually keep them separated for better coverage of my scalp, as I struggle with my scalp showing in the back (natural cow lick back there). Thanks for all your tips!
I'm 53 and never realized that I had naturally wavy/curly hair. I thought i just had frizzy hair. I'm embracing and loving my curls. Can u show more videos use mousse and gel?
I just found your channel the other day and I am so glad I did! I've been trying to make my curls work for me for the last year or and it is a JOURNEY! Your tips are super helpful :)
Thanks for all your curly hair tips! I followed your video brush styling with a tangle teezer for 1st time yesterday. You made it so easy & i loved the results! Do you have tips for refreshing curls? I'd love a Bounce Curl brush ❤
Thanks for making such an informative video, Gena! You've helped me transform my hair from straightening it every day and frying it until it was straw to having juicy luscious curls! I hope my baby girl has curls now so I can use your tips to help her proudly embrace her curls! :) Thanks! Ellie
Thank you for sharing how to use this brush. Love all your videos I have seen 😍 I cannot wait to get this brush and use it. I just started learning how to take care of my curls 😊
Thanks for this tutorial. I’m new to your channel and I love your knowledge on all things curly. You’ve helped me so much. I’m currently trying products and brush styling. I’m going on two months and I’ve seen such a difference since I’ve been applying your dos and don’t s. My favorite is seeing side by side comparison s. 😊
This was a great video showing how you brush styled using the Bouncecurl brush. I have trouble with frizz especially in front and on top. You gave wonderful advice on do's and don'ts when brush styling.
Great Giveaway would love to try. Thanks for explaining easy brush styling. Always looking to learn how to have less frizz and prevent flash drying. Learning a lot.
Thank you for these tips, Gena. I struggle with brush styling the back of my head. Also, my curl clumps want to go in different directions and I've struggled with that for a while. My Curlsmith difrizzion dryer came yesterday and I'm so looking forward to trying it!
I really want to try one of the bounce curl brushes. I have began trying to learn to care for my curls and I have already seen how much better they can look. I have just kept trying new things and seeing what works for my hair specifically. I am working on taming frizz and getting good clumping. This video had some really great tips that I am definitely going to try ❤
Thank you for your step by step techniques. The bounce curl brush looks amazing! All Curlies need this brush- I have issues with frizz, finding the right leave in or styling lotion under the gel is also key.
I really enjoy your tips. I also appreciate that you continue to off hair styling tips as most creators have gone away from hair to life videos. I have been following you since your baby was a newborn. Keep up the great work!
Gorgeous results today! Looking forward to trying that line ❤ Thank you for your videos-they have been helpful in the last year that I discovered my waves and curls ❤
Thank you for this! It's quite overwhelming brush styling trying to get volume and definition. I always appreciate your practical, hands on approach. Thank you!
Thanks for this video! Your videos have already really helped with my brush styling technique, but I appreciate your tips here on doing it FASTER, because that’s my biggest issue with it. Also you may have just convinced me I need one of those volume bouncecurl brushes because your results are 🔥
Great clarity video!! Your curls are beautiful ❤ I won one of these brushes last year around this time but it got lost in the mail and never came. 😢 This is me trying my luck again 🎉 Also excited to try this shampoo/conditioner brand. I've never heard of it.
We must be psychically linked! Your tutorial was perfect timing. I've been struggling all week with these exact issues. Lack of volume and stringy curls! I can get one or the other (usually by happy accident) but never both at the same time. I'm soooo frustrated!!!
Wow! You have lots of volume. 😍 That is something I struggle with! 😏 Great video with detailed demonstration on how to get volume. I will definitely try your technique. The volume bounce curl brush would be extra helpful!🤗
I have learned so much from you, thank you so much for sharing! We have similar hair. I've been using the 2 Bounce Curl brushes since they were first available and they give me great results!
Love you videos! Concise, easy to understand and follow. Brush styling is still elusive to me. I would love to try the Bounce Curl Brush. It looks perfect!
Thank you for taking the time to fully detail out the steps. Brush styling is still something I’m working on, so thank you for the lovely hair tips. Maybe for another video detailing the types of products for your hair. I know it took me a while until I learned my hair has low porosity which entails different products than someone’s hair who has high porosity. That’s my next struggle. Thank you Gena!
Thanks so much for your tutorial! I’m looking to get back into my curl journey, since I definitely still take care of my hair, but I know I can do more to have hair as beautiful as yours! I struggle with definition for sure, I’m not sure if it’s because I weigh down my hair with product, or if it might be because I need to finger coil or brush style. I’m thinking about brush styling, but I’ve never known how to do it, so I’m glad I came across your video, I’ll be checking out the other video you mentioned on hair sectioning, so I have that down as well.
Great video! I struggle with brush styling ... and you break it down so well. Fingers crossed I can do this on my next wash day! Also, love your product reviews ... I have bought several of your suggestions.
Love watching your videos! I have been on the curl journey for a while, but girl we can never stop learning and discovering new tips, tricks, and techniques. Thank you so much for sharing!
Thanks for this helpful video! I'm fairly new to brush styling, and I find it hard to do the back of my long, wavy hair. But I'm working on refining my techniques--practice, practice, practice!
Great video, Gena. Thanks for the step-by-step instructions. I do brush style, but our technique is slightly different. Can't wait to try your process.
I love all your tips and product recommendations! All the hardwork you put in is very appreciated! I love getting the emails as well! Thank you so much for having so many resources!!
This was so helpful. I'm new to brush styling, and it's made a huge difference. However, the way you section your hair is different than what I was doing. I think that will help me with volume and scalp coverage.
Thanks for all you curly hair content. It is always helpful. I could use some help figuring out how to section for brush styling so I don't end up with obvious lines around my head. Thanks
I love how simple and to the point your videos are. You helped me so much with my hair ❤. Can you do a video where you only use drugstore products for three weeks?
Thank you for the details, Gena. Ill try these tips the next time i wash. I bought a Demnan but have only used it once and it didn't come out the way I was hoping but I haven't given up. I'd love to try the Bounce Curl Volume. I have post-menopause drying, thin, fine, high-perocity hair with barely wavey out of my crown but beautiful curls underneath. I'd love to find a great routine that helps me look my best without overcomplicating a routine.
I just found your videos and I'm binge watching them. Love your videos. I'm on the struggle bus with my wavy/curly hair. Mine is lump and flat. Haircut video maybe would be nice to see. Love the volume brush and your techniques with it. I'm an older beginner with my hair journey. Thanks again.
I always enjoy your videos Gena. I always learn about different products, brands that I have never heard of before. Thank you and I am excited to try something different!
as someone who almost exclusively brush styles my 2b-3a curls and waves but struggles to get neat separated sections, these tips are so helpful!! i have the other bounce curl brush but sometimes it gives me MEGA curl clumps 😂 wondering if this version would give me more volume and separation! thank you for your videos and advice as always 🩵
Thank you for this. My hair is so low density that brush staying doesn't seem to be working but I think it's mostly the way I was trying to do it. I've just started my journey so I'm learning from step 1. The brush styling has been the hardest thing for me to learn.
You are one of the top two ladies I credit with helping me be successful on my natural curl journey. ❤❤❤ I caught a video of yours a while ago showing how you section and brush, and it was THE FIRST game changer for me! It unlocked my ability to finally get the same great finished look every wash day. The other tip you gave that was THE SECOND game changer was to microplop water out before gel application. Oh my word. Having soaking wet hair when applying gel kept leaving me with gross, flat, limp gel-weirdness clumps when dry. So nice to have a repeatable routine thanks to minimal products and those two game changers from you! Already a subscriber...and so glad I caught this video! I've had the define Bounce Curl brush on my wish list since I first heard about it! That hot pink brush..... 😍
Congrats, Dawn! You're one of the winners! Please reply to this to comment to (1) confirm you're in the US and (2) provide your email so I can contact to you arrange shipping. I will delete your comment reply after I email you for email privacy.
I have lot long hair and frizzy what makes a little difficult for me the brush styling but I’m going to apply your tips. Thanks so much for your videos are very helpful Wow your hair came out amazing 🤩
The edge lift brush has been on my wishlist! Always looking for easy, but still enough longevity so I don’t have to do my hair everyday with a toddler 🙃
Patience is a virtue, especially when it comes to curly hair! I’ve heard everyone say that it takes about a year until you like your curly hair. In the past, I’d give up after a couple of months. This time I stuck with it and it will be a year in January and I’m finally liking my curly hair. I’ve learned a lot from your videos. I have fine hair and it’s thinning as I’m aging (I’m 72) and was wondering if you could give any advice for us older (should I say “more mature”?) women like me, who have gray, color treated hair that is becoming drier, thinner and more prone to frizz?
Thank you for all your curl teaching videos. I'm learning a lot but still struggling with the right products that don't weigh my hair down or make my hair feel dirty. I am not able to get second day hair anymore 🙃
I wanna win a brush! I have been following since early summer with very thin curly hair growing out from a short cut. You have been soooo helpful! Everything I get suggested by you WORKS!❤
Your videos and IG tips have helped me so much to further embrace my curls! From brush styling tricks to my now go-to Ouidad gel! Thanks for all you do! Future videos, how to style second+ day curls (clips, buns, etc)
This was really helpful because I have been struggling with brush styling specifically with the Bounce Curl brush. Currently using the original but been thinking about trying the volume one too.
Love the way you're able to explain things that make them doable. You mentioned that when we have shorter hair up front and not parted (such as a curly shag) so that the brush styling might be different (forward perhaps?) -- would love to hear your suggestions on that. 🤩

Love love love this video and written instructions. I will save this one! ❤
Such great advice. My hair is very thick and curly. You have helped me finally embrace my curls at age 64!
I Love your videos. My main problem is consistency on wash day because I do the same thing every time and it always looks a little different each time
Thanks for all you’ve taught me Gena…you are amazing❤❤
Very detailed instructions and so helpful! Thanks for all you do 😊👏🏼
I've never seen anyone use so much detail when demonstrating sectioning and brush styling, and wow this is helpful! Thank you!
Thank you for showing and explaining how to cover up the scalp on the crown. The older I have gotten, the finer my hair is getting. I used to have double the amount of hair, so I never saw my scalp! I’m still really struggling with the brush styling. I bought all the brushes and have watched so so so many videos. I think I missed the day they handed out girl skills or something.
Love your videos Gina! I think I’m going to pay for a coach session
I would love to chat with you! Here are my packages: genamarie.co/curl-coaching/
I for sure missed that day and super recommend booking. Gena was great to work with even as someone who's like, how do I do this stuff???

Great tutorial on the Bounce Curl brush as I struggle with stringy curls- thank you!😍
I have that brush and struggle with sectioning my hair. I love how your directions are broken down to individual baby steps, it is such a help to me. ❤
Struggling most with refreshing and not getting stringy curls with the refresh. Nothing looks as good as days 1-2 ! Thanks for the tips, Gena!
You saved my curls. They were flat and barely there. I can't even begin to tell you how much time and money I spent trying to help them. And then I found your videos. My hair is healthy and curly again. I really appreciate the work you do here.
My curly girl Facebook group suggested to watch. I am so thankful I found you. You have explained so much for styling my curls. 😍😍🥰🥰
I’m definitely going to be incorporating these tips into my routine. I think some of your tips are going to be game changers for me. Thank you😊

Love this video! Ive been doing brushing styling and its been a learning curve.
I’ve been working on bringing back my curls after years and years of flat ironing, and have found your channel super helpful. Thanks!
What a great tutorial. Struggling with wavy, thin, thirsty, post menopausal hair. Getting better everyday.
Can you suggest some products for my fine wavy hair ? I often notice breakage while styling and washing. I live in a different country and don't have access to same products as you, so suggest the consistency of product and what i need to look for
Good questions. I would be interested in this too please. I'm exactly the same as you, and in the UK.
@@kldc2156 i believe boots store in UK has all the products available (what gena uses in her routine). Have you tried curlsmith ?
Me too fine and wavy hair. I'm following from Ontario, Canada
@@pamelapaulenko1922 does your hair become overly soft too after some wash days ? Do you have a solution for it ?
Yes. Wayyyyy soft.
Thank you for all your videos Gena, very helpful. I always enjoy all of your tips and recommendations.
Love the tips for th😂 front! Can’t wait to try them next wash day!
My defrizzion dryer came and I am loving it! I need more practice with the brush styling, I'm not very patient but this is a great video showing the technique... Thank you for all your details!
Your curly hair video techniques have helped me a lot. I love how relaxed you are speaking to us while styling your own hair. Thank you Gena Marie! 😊
Excited to see the volume brush! Would love to try that. Thank you for always giving such detailed descriptions!

I really enjoy your tips. I also appreciate that you continue to off hair styling tips as most creators have gone away from hair to life videos. I have been following you since your baby was a newborn. Keep up the great work!

Love watching your videos! I have been on the curl journey for a while, but girl we can never stop learning and discovering new tips, tricks, and techniques. Thank you so much for sharing!
I totally needed this video. I’ve been struggling with this/curious about brush styling with this type of brush. 🥴 Thank you!
Gena your videos are always so helpful and my mom and I have both learned so much on how to care for our wild curls. Thank you!
Thanks for this helpful video! I'm fairly new to brush styling, and I find it hard to do the back of my long, wavy hair. But I'm working on refining my techniques--practice, practice, practice!
Thank you Gena! My hair is thick and I’m about a year not my curly/wavy hair journey. You are my number one go to!!
I struggle with volume at the top of my head and curl hold.
I enjoy all your hair tips and tricks.
Thank you for always going into detail of how to do things! My hair is very fine and I have a scalp showing that I struggle with.
I really appreciate that you do upright styling techniques. Love your videos!
Thanks
Thank Gena! I struggle with having my part extend like yours. I will try to pull a larger section and brushing it back to help cover it.
Thanks girl, just got the bounce curl brush for Christmas and my momma gave me her tutorial way too fast! 😅
Thank you for this. My hair is so low density that brush staying doesn't seem to be working but I think it's mostly the way I was trying to do it. I've just started my journey so I'm learning from step 1. The brush styling has been the hardest thing for me to learn.
Love the volume you got from the brush and styling ! I struggle with next day hair and the tangling from following days!
Omg I loved this video! I’m struggling with definition after dying my hair blonde. I’m super stringy in the back even when my hair was virgin
Great video! I am struggling with brush styling and your video was so helpful! Thank you!
I've had my hair go from stick straight to wavy/frizzy after my hysterectomy 2 years ago. Your video is very helpful!
You are one of the top two ladies I credit with helping me be successful on my natural curl journey. ❤❤❤
I caught a video of yours a while ago showing how you section and brush, and it was THE FIRST game changer for me!

@GenaMarie Thank you!!!
I have lot long hair and frizzy what makes a little difficult for me the brush styling but I’m going to apply your tips. Thanks so much for your videos are very helpful
Wow your hair came out amazing 🤩
Thank you so much for doing this! I've been wondering what was going on with my brush styling
Just what i needed! Thank you! You literally saved my curls! ❤
Thanks for demonstrating brush styling. I definitely struggle with my keeping my sections that are done separate from those that aren’t done.
