- Although we have Starlink internet, it still takes a long time (hours) for the longer videos to upload! sorry!
In an effort to keep this video from being any longer and boring than it already is, I edited out a few things to make room for others. Sure, there is some usual nonsense in the video, but I can't help myself! 🤷🏻♀️😉
We have Scouts wheelchair, and put him in it once. It needs adjustments, but we haven't really put in the effort, because he continually shows us that he doesn't need the dang thing! In our defence, he appeared to need it earlier on, plus we didn't know him that well yet. Perhaps when he is older and truly struggling to get around, it will come in handy. We will see how he does in the deep snow, and consider engineering up some ski attachments if needed.
I initially shared the making my all-time favourite, delicious oatmeal, but cut it out as well. Does anyone care about my recipes?!? I also planned on showing a few of my smaller, random build projects, but again - took up too much time. Any interest in those?
I'm not great at remembering all the questions I've received over the last few months when it comes time to film, so if there are any big important ones I've forgotten about please let me know. (however, these aren't my favourite videos to film, so hoping to not have to do this again! 😬).
Steve is the lucky one 🤓. A nerdy engineer who also gets to be around a totally down to earth, every way capable, and beautiful woman every day of his life!!!! You are amazing.
I guess he would love to go back to his 40th year college reunion -he doesn’t like RUclips and being on the camera he should just be known asDa Man-lived a life for three years, Steve’s age same situation-took her two years to realize the dream was too much work seems like both of them deserve each other because they’re supporting each other in their own lives and sharing it together PS after seeing your title good to be a nerd, physics above my pay grade❤
Steve is so lucky to have such a talented and beautiful wife. The video was not too long in my humble opinion and all your vids are most enjoyable.
You are an absolute delight! Thank you for bringing us along on your adventures and letting us get to know you, Steve and your wonderful four legged (and three legged) family members.
Have no questions and no suggestions. Enjoy your videos. You are a very interesting person that draws me right in with you. THANKS
couldn't agree more
Thank you Steve for supporting Michelle in this endeavor. I really enjoy her quirky, funny and relentless drive.
I was a cardiac care nurse for 9 years and an ICU nurse for 7 years. One thing I realize is that working alongside other nurses, I found that many of us like building, fixing and doing anything else we can think of, with out hands.
How do you do all that "without hands"? Lol (typo, just had too!). Seriously, ad Nurses, you are fixing people all the time. Fixing, building, rebuilding, repair.... It's in your blood!!!
Michelle, you are absolutely adorable, zany, and just plain fun.
Your loyal RUclips followers would watch you regardless of the content/subject matter...cabin construction (especially with Shawn the "inspector")...milling...hunting for your wandering hound dogs...anything having to do with boats or ocean travel...your cooking talents...frankly, darn near anything you film edit and post will draw an audience and mega thumbs up(s). You are a joy. Please continue your channel content and certainly consider including your long term interests.
Thank you John!
Michelle you have many skills, you have the strength to cut wood with an ax, and the delicacy of playing a beautiful song on the guitar.
Keep shining .
We are ALL lucky to have YOU!!
My dad taught me the importance of great work ethics, ambition and relentless pursuit of being able to build something. Now, pushing 70, I still do almost everything alone and quite successfully. Your creative ability to figure things out and press on is something that is disappearing from society today. It's refreshing to me to see you succeed.
By the way, I'd have no problem anchoring to rock, assuming it's done correctly.
A boat and the Pacific... absolutely!! Another great video! Always funny and heartwarming. Thanks for continuing to peel back the layers of your adventurous life. :)
12:00: Tweet-tweeooo!
Please keep making videos! Whether you're working insanely hard at some project or "just talking about nothing," your videos are always fun, interesting, and inspiring.
Are you kiddin'me 😂most of us would watch 3hrs of Michy 😆 but its always a pleasure to have yo share anything👍 you keep it entertaining ❤🙏✌
You're both lucky to have found each other. Seem to be one but allowed to be yourselves. And that is wonderful.
A Queen with her King ruling their world. Love it.
My maternal grandparents at around 65 sold their 5 acre homestead in northern N.J. , packed up bought 12 acres in south central Virginia. Living out of the "frolic" a small tow behind trailer grandpa installed a small wood stove in for winter warmth began building their "cabin in the woods". A two story kit w/ a full basement, stone fireplace and Grandpa milled heartwood cedar from the property, made his own kitchen cabs. and vanities for the baths.
At some point in the project I got a post card from Gramdma with a progress report with her writing that she didn't know how Grandpa could pick up logs himself I can only pick up one end.
You two have a long ,warm and happy life together. All the best.
Thank you for the videos, looking forward to more.
Your videos are never to long, love them all.🙂
So much I could say, so little need to say it because it's so obvious. You're an incredible and amazing woman Michy. Giant respects to you, Steve, and the awesome life you've built together, hat's off to both of you! Thanks for the delightful content, please keep making vids!
Everything y all do is interesting. Who else plays guitar in the snow? And all those dog's and the one cat that loves dogs. These movies are great. 👍👍
Bless you for taking such good care of the those animals.
Thank you for all your candid answers, and I would certainly follow you and your boat adventures. The description of the property helps in orienting where things are. Stay safe!
PS, I have to stay far away when you are splitting wood!
You make the most of your time through the seasons...great backstories of honesty, love and vision
Truly Michy, you have all the attributes that accompany a good healthy, honest hard working woman and one that has the energy to do it; therefore, the motivation to challenge new situations and circumstances. You can also look back on yesterday with a clear conscience. In addition, the passion to learn and be happy with what you have.
Thank you for your lovely comment 💝
@@michygoss7148my name is Todd do you like hugs
I would certainly agree, you two are blessed to have each other. You compliment each other well in what you bring to the relationship.
Your love for your fur babies says everything to me. Your family's soul makes the world a brighter place. You show a lot of people what determination can do for someone in life. Keep on keepin' on :-)

Bless you guys for being such wonderful animal saviors, it warms my heart.
You and Steve are both lucky to have each other. It’s great to watch your projects and your adventures (and that you got more snow than we have farther north….so far). I look forward to what you have coming next.
Off Grid w/ Jake & Nicholle is another favorite channel I watch. Because of the building they do like you do. British Columbia residents.
Started watching a couple days back, awesome videos. This video was very informative, lots of questions answered. You're a hoot.
I just discovered your channel. Love watching you build things. I also play guitar, for 47 years now...
You are like an Energizer bunny you move from on thing to another you making stuff is amazing once again.
Just completed my 5th Colonoscopy over the last 15 years and having remembered this video, I thought of you and your profession! Thanks for sharing your adventures, love your channel! From Atlanta.
I love how capable you are! You go girl!
Maybe you already are aware of this, but if you stack old tires around your chopping block, so that the top side of the top tire rests just above the surface (maybe5-6 inches?), you can split your wood and the cuttings will remain inside the tire, allowing you to just grab them and not have to chase them on the ground. Just thinking of how hard my back worked and paid the price later.
You had a very open and upfront personality and that is the kind of channels I watch I watch a variety of different kind of channels but what seems to attract me is regular people doing regular things that have a positive attitude and it certainly doesn't help that you're really cute LOL have a great day
Newer subscriber, thank you for the information about your lives, the pets.
I’m not anything like you with the talents.
When I was a kid in the 1960’s, every time there was a tradesman working nearby, I’d be watching and asking questions. Do through my life I’ve never been afraid to try building or fixing things.
Regarding your cliff cabin, you could collect water from the roof. Putting the water through a sand filter (a plastic barrel filled with layers of rocks and sand) would make it drinkable. Our cabin used this system, until we just installed a submersible pump in the lake. But in your case that’s a long way to pump water!!
Stumbled across your channel last week by accident. It was Steve’s boat and taking delivery in China and bringing it east that drew me in. Some of the best trawlers that I follow are built in Taiwan so it captivated me. But who was this quirky woman helping him? Someone documenting the journey? Cook, nurse? Then I remember a favorite movie “The Edge” with Anthony Hopkins! That’s it I told my wife! Have to see more. What, cutting timber, skiing at night in bear country, carrying heavy logs around, alone in the woods! Totally confused this guy but thanks for this questions and answers piece it all comes together. Just two regular folks doing their thing…cool. Thanks for being open and candid. By the way, traveled from Florida to Alaska via Alberta, the Yukon and BC some of the best scenery to behold. Thanks for the entertainment, it’s much better than watching what’s on tv.
Awesome!! Shall I say, welcome aboard!!?! 😁
I truly admire Steve for letting you be you. From one Steve to another thanks. Me and my girl are going to find some folks here to donate to them and there pets in honor of you and steve.my 2 other channels I watch are 2 couples refitting there sailboats which I watched for almost 2 years and now there sailing on the Brazilian coast I wait for there videos every week.now your the 3rd one I'm hooked on .
Seinfeld was a 30 minute show about nothing and one of the more popular sitcoms of all time. You make em and we'll watch. Thank you
Adorable companions you have or they have. They warm my heart.
Congratulations on everything you are achieving & what you are doing. ❤ 2 ❤. For u guys.
Whatever you do, I will enjoy following you.
Michelle, you are a good one. 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
Greetings from 🇩🇪
Aside from the pole barn, you should be very proud of the beautiful and loving home that you've created.
Enjoyed your answers. A little insight into your personal life. Best wishes from a small town in Virginia. God bless
when you split wood, use a much shorter log as your splitting base. You can have more time to accelerate your swing if it was shorter.
Steve is a very lucky man.
Always fascinating to watch you and Steve in your daily lives. Reminds me of a time when my father wanted to give me his house at the headwaters of the Fraser River on Francois Lake in beautiful BC. Quite remote. Took me nearly 2 full days to drive there from Victoria. Had several close encounters with moose on the highway. Amazing how difficult they are to see being an animal that size. A long story regarding that house. Quite interesting but too time consuming to explain here. Thanks again for the videos. They are all fascinating to watch.
Its really a way for your fans to show you they really apreciatte your work and willingness tonshare your lives with them
Not a bad rendition of Stairway To Heaven. Keep workin’ at it, you’ll get it! KIDDING!!!
😂
Holy smokes! What a great channel you produce! Love your dogs, life, family, and diverse interests. I built an antique airplane (a real one....all wood and fabric) design years ago and still flying it so creating with wood is a passion of mine. Totally get how that appeals to you. Now to power watch your episodes......and about that oatmeal recipe....yes! Let's see it!
Been following these videos this last year. Amazing how you handle large logs and lumber. You think things through on every motion. Love your pets. Beautiful cliff view at your cabin. Keep up the great videos!
One pretty cleaning lady!and I love how you chop wood !!
Love it love finding a little more about the both of yas! Love your doggies
you both are so blessed to have each other and live in one of the most beautiful place on earth this is the true point
paradise
I was busy Facebook chatting with my 87 year old mom.... and enjoying listening to your question and answer.......... until my eyes jumped out of my head and glued to the other screen @ 9:12... then had a good chuckle at myself when you started explaining about endoscopy nurse work...... omg... I am so male.
You are one of a kind, truly. I don’t know where you find the time to do all you do. I love your sense of humor and down to earth practicality. As you probably know, the dogs are really endearing. Keep going with your stories.
Well, now I'm in love, your humor and now guitar, I'm taken a back. Just being facetious. Nice guitar playing. I know two years late here but, I just found your channel, that I really enjoy btw, thanks for taking us all along on your adventures.
Hey Michi, nice thumbnail. It instantly reminded me of Storybook International from back in the 80s! I'm sure I'm not the only one here reminiscing.
Just An Awesome Summary Of The Plan & +/- of each Vision. You Are A Brilliant "Get It Done" Person! OH! And Darn Right Beautiful!
You are one amazing person, very kind, creative and determined, it's always great to see what's next.
One thing I would mention about your busy-busy lifestyle, for me when I was in my late 20's, I stumbled into a vocation which was pretty physical and for the first 5 years would see extra work as an endurance test to withstand. If I wasn't super busy, I would do things like all day motorcycle rides into the mountains etc. Then I got a lower back problem that I never fully recovered from which forced me to scale back my endurance oriented lifestyle. It all began with one mistake I made cranking a back pack blower while in place on my back. The middle back issue, in three years, expanded to a lumber-spine issue and from a guy who sought out 6 day weeks from sunrise to sunset, I was soon working 6 to 8 hour days four days a week.
It does no good to look back and say, "What if." but now and then, I do so anyway. It looks to me like you are inclined the same way,
Youth always believes in their invulnerability till they find out they are not. I thought I was careful but then one mistake and that boundless energy very well may be gone for good!
Love your show! Thank you for sharing a slice of your life. It brings a gift of joy to me.
I love long videos. Saves me time looking for the next video. And I like what you have to share! You're both the lucky one!
Either my life is super boring, or this has been a very entertaining video. It is awesome how you change locations, clothes and topics all throughout. I imagine it is a lot of work, especially the editing.
I couldn’t sit in the same spot and talk to a camera for all the questions - I’d go insane, and it would definitely be boring as heck. 😂🤷🏻♀️
Best to you and Steve, your pups and cat. Just want you to know I look forward to your new posts. Had a heavy talk tonight with a lifelong friend who doesn’t have long, but has lived an amazing life. You have an unusual skill set and a compelling way of presenting. Connecting a bit in this cyber way is a good thing….you might never have guessed it, but your post brings a comforting end to a somewhat weighty day…thank you…please keep it up…
Aw. Sorry to hear about your friend. I am happy that my videos are helpful for you!
Lord have mercy! I came across your channel in my recommended videos. I have been binge watching your channel most of the day. I can surely see how you are in such good shape. I did heavy construction until I retired and I know how hard it is to do what you do.
Best regards to You, Steve and your four legged family.
Please continue your channel! I always look forward to your adventures and you are really entertaining!
Love your videos, very interesting to watch all your projects 🙂
thank you for such a great video .greetings to your dogs and cats from Russia.
First day watching you and guess I now have subscribed. I was hooked when you said the words "boat" and "Pacific Ocean". I am former US Navy and a boating enthusiast. Unfortunately with my current "situation" in life, a boat isn't in the cards. As far as ocean going boats go, if you are interested in restoring or building from scratch, there are quite a few channels that are excellent. For steel hull boats, I highly recommend SV Seeker and for wooden hull boats, Sampson Boat Co.
As far as why I am interested in your channel, I am also a landowner, but in Texas. I have 14 acres. I am an Engineer, like Steve, although probably not as highly educated as him. I love projects. I own a welder and a lot of carpentry/woodworking tools. I love to get inspiration from others to see what I can come up with next.
Well, this was fun. Thanks for the question and answer. You answered a lot of questions that I was wondering your dogs are certainly a wonderful part of your life along with Steve. 🐾🌅💪🪵
Thanks - I asked a few week's ago about you sharing your story - and you did so magnificently!
For me, the biggest takeaway... your gratitude! It speaks volumes!!
Happy projecting... and donkey-ing about!👍😁
I am 16 yrs older than my wife of 22 years. We are quite different than each but share core values and support each other in all pursuits. Life is good 👍🏻
Very nice guitar playing. I've been playing for about 30. It's been my therapy as well.
7:18 I friggen LOVE it!!! I play guitar as well... Been playing for 38 years now (yikes I'm getting old) you're actually really good! Sounds great!
For Christmas this year, tell Steve you'd like a powered log splitter to process firewood! Doing it manually is great exercise, but you've got to give your back a rest!
Once I found your videos , I like them and the length is great !
You have details to share about what you are doing and why !
Along with your tasks at hand of building the shed/cabin and your new one , you have one task of camera and tripod to work with and set up and move and move again , it’s not easy all the time !
I’ve used cameras all my life and tripods and monopods , I know what it’s about , the difference is both mine are 35mm film cameras !
Your videos are very well done !
Awesomely jealous ... living large and free ... inspirational
Wonderful video ... but we all knew it would be. Discovered you quite by chance yesterday ... am now hoovering up your videos.
You are amazing I can not stop watching your videos what you do is crazy one tuff intelligent woman you can do it all
Michelle, it's great to see you have a general plan about your property. With all the sawdust, dogs, kayos, and such, its nice to know in the background there is some direction. The dogs and the cat seem content with it all, and of course you are blessed with a loving husband who supports you. This video is welcome because it consolidates a lot of stuff. Sorry Steve that it took a bit of time. Looking forward to your next episode. Thanks for Sharing!
Les épisodes sont tellement passionnants que même sans parler la langue je reste devant l'écran. Un bel exemple de vie.Bravo.
Hello. When you crack wood your support should be lower. You can also do it directly on the ground.
Great vid Mich. I once played pig on a spit....thankfully all clear.....love your work!
Awesome!
You are very talented and full of energy.
Thanks for sharing!
Boat videos are my favorites!! Go for it!
I'm sold. I've watch two of your videos now. I guess getting a glance into other people's adventures is inspiring in many ways. Time to get off the couch and seek new experiences.
No question this a fascinating lady. No to mention very attractive and has a great on camera personality.
Everybody has a better way, you’ll never get around that one! Very cool video!
Pretty cool seeing the map and position in the land you are...and how challenging it is, however what a view and what wonderful area it is. But the best thing I also learned about you just by seeing your help...your knighting...I love ❤️ it, sewing of all arts and crafts...one because it is so much working on all of kinds but also because there is fun learning and achieving abilities ...🤗 and of course playing the song ...I love music, singing in a choir since I was 5... so cool...🎼🎶 and adding the animals...kkkk...I grew up with them as well...my best friends 😻🐶
Michy, Please don’t change the way you produce your videos. Make as long as you wish. I enjoy them so much. Thank you posting this Q&A, I like knowing a little bit of background info. Please do add videos of cooking and food recipes. You two stay safe and await your next post.🤗
Why does it seem like female nurses are so well balanced interesting. I should start trolling the hospitals 😂 Steve is a fortunate man!!!
Your videos have made many enjoyable evenings for me. Thanks so much!
i knew there had to be a reason why i really like you. lately i have been having some health problems, and i ended up with 5 stents in my heart. during the times i was in NORTH SHORE HOSPITAL in new york, i gained nothing but respect for nurses. you ladies are the best.
Now that's how you split wood!
I say , take the money and do what you want with it. You're obviously a good person , so I'm sure you'll put it to good and proper use.
I love your life, you have so many talents, such an awesome family, so creative and you are happy. Keep doing what you love. Thanks for sharing
