I had my truck repainted by Maaco everybody gave me grief paints going to last 6months. I’ve owned the truck 6 years not a single issue and service was extremely quick and pretty inexpensive.
Randy you have by far the best Maaco shop in your area I have ever seen! I’ve never seen paint jobs from them anywhere else come out as good! Looks great!
@@quasar3210 he’s had a bunch of their cheap jobs done also that have looked great from the one he goes too! I’ve been blown away every time because our shop where I live sucks, and I’ve seen some of their jobs here that were up to $5,000
Maaco's best paint job is a real bargain compared to a custom shop,,, Plus I am sure that Randy's continuing praise for the shop in his area,, I am sure keeps them busy,,, :-)
Randy if it looks as good in person as it does on here, you got a killer deal for what you paid! The Maaco you go to needs to go around the US and train all other Maaco’s because I’ve never seen the others do a job like this!!! Ours in Myrtle Beach is absolutely horrible! You definitely do have the best Maaco I’ve ever seen!
I too live in myrtle beach - and back in 2015 i had maaco here repaint a 97 honda del sol (high end base and clear). The car needed a TON of body work, rust cut-out, etc. They did an AMAZING job! I will say i was working at a radio station at the time - i supplied the body panels and maaco was respnsible for the paint/materials/labor. All work was traded (for commercials) so i never knew how much it actually cost, but maaco did outstanding work. This was at a time when the owner Joe had the facility, so i can't speak to the quality of work today.
Randy, the SS turned out great! It’s a beauty. Maaco outdid themselves! First look on paint reminds me of how good the 40 Chevy looked, I purchased from you. You can be proud of this vehicle. Best wishes on tour.
The best advertising, especially for this MAACO location, was getting Randy as a customer. Kudos to them for quality work that speaks volumes for a well run shop.
Ye me to man good yo hear nice to know he has an audience over here at the uk watching his channel man hope you have a wonderful sunday evening man, pece ✨👌✨👍👍👍
The Monte SS looks gorgeous Randy! Paint shop did an amazing job on it. Gonna be perfect for power tour. Hopefully that old mini bus is able to be drivable soon too. Can’t wait for the next video.
Love seeing Santa swing by and we didn't see you almost go down Santa! 😉 The Monte Carlo paint job came out really good! Love the 3 touch on the license plate too. He was the man baby!!
I had the same style vents in my Fords from the 70s and 80s. The felt pieces they put on are near the pivots. This tends to warp the sides of the vents and they lose their friction fit. As long as the vents are not broken, I have placed small bits of self adhesive felt at the outer edges of the sides where the plasic will not bend over time.
My 96 astro had that same color paint. I think was called "english rose" but in sun was kinda purple/burgundy. Lot of flake/pearl in paint. 95 bucks a pint. The monte carlo ss looks sick and im glad u kept it original
Love it; they did a nice job! Sounds great and perfect touch with the Earnhardt plate! Personally I would prefer the factory wheels refinished but those look good.
The door must be slightly out of alignment. Need to readjust the latch and the striker on the driver's door. Ran into same issue with a Chevy Silverado after replacing the weather stripping. 😊
Paint looks great car looks great. Love that body style. I hope you decide to order the correct door rubber though. You have done such a good job restoring that car I’d hate to see the doors get messed up. Great job! I can’t wait to see the last finishing touches !
The Monte Carlo is looking and sounding fantastic! You are going to get a lot of compliments from people on Power Tour, for sure! Good luck and safe travels on the Power Tour.
Randy they did a real great job with that paint! Wish I could get a paint job done for that kind of money near me. Honestly never seen anything like that for the money! Always great seeing you and Santa in a video also I hope you get Park fixed. Can't wait for the coverage of Power Tour!🔥🔥
The felts help keep debris from getting down inside the door and clogging those three drain holes at the bottom. If they get clogged, rainwater can pool inside the door and rot it out from the inside. This happens over a period of years if the car is left to sit. It's not a concern on this project, obviously. But if you ever encounter G bodies with their doors rusted on the bottom, that's often why.
The paint job is so awesome, once the windows are tinted, it's going to look like it did, when it was at the dealership back when it first came out❤😍🥰😍💯🤑
Does Roxi know when you get home? Lmao she is so smart. That paint is so clean. Your Maaco is the goat. My dad had a 87 that was stolen back in 1994. This motivates me to buy him another one very soon. And how do you have a tint shop with no one capable enough to cut the tint by hand? They are sorry af.
Hi Randy, I've got to say I was a little leery about the Monte I love to keep them original but you are staying true to it keeping a lot of originality and I always thought it should of had a 350 in them from the factory, this is what they should have been, those 305's were just too small and weak. Good for you, you had a vision and you made it happen and came out with a beauty Good Job Randy and all of your helpers along the way. She's fast. 😀✌❤ I can't wait to see how she does on power tour. Good luck and have fun.
Randy, that thing looks amazing!! That engine seems real saucy. Be careful on launches that you don’t snap the B pillar. I had and 87 that I took the 4.3 out and dropped in a 454. Lots of launches later a nice crack formed at the roof line on top of the B.
It does look really good in the video. Of course the big thing about metallic paint, especially paints that have a lot of metallic is if there are areas of spotting, dark spots. If the paint is mixed correctly, the gun is set up the way it should be, and the person knows how to properly spray, it's not a problem. Most people that call themselves painters aren't, and they shouldn't be spraying metallic paint. The other key things are the prep that was done, and how long the paint will hold up, but you don't own anything long enough to know. I'll guarantee you that MAACO doesn't use the best paint. They can't for the price they charge. I know back in the late 70's they got most of their paint in 55 gallon drums, which made sense because of the number of cars that they painted, and because it was cheap.
As far as the wet sanding goes, it doesn't always have to be done. The biggest reason to wet sand a car is if there is a lot of dirt in it, or the paint wasn't mixed and sprayed correctly and it's rough. I've sprayed hundreds of gallons of base/clear paint, and after I spray it, it looks like glass. There is no orange peel. I don't remember the last time I actually wet sanded and polished a new paint job.
It probably has a better paint job now. Then it had in 1987 🚘🔥🔥🤘. Randy ! you guys did amazing on this build 👏👏👌. Shout out to 🐵🔧& 🎅. Hope Michael can fire up his beautiful Vett for the power tour 👍🫡.

Amen!
Maaco does great jobs but their are some other shops that don't do not even a decent paint job but is a risk you might have to take.
Randy you have by far the best Maaco shop in your area I have ever seen! I’ve never seen paint jobs from them anywhere else come out as good! Looks great!
I've done tons of videos of their $399 paint and it looks GREAT too!

It’s tough finding old school window tinters that know how to hand cut film and make it look good.
Was about to comment the same thing
Yep no real skills required anymore. Sad.

Looks Awesome Randy!! I’ve been looking forward to this!!

If they replaced the rust with metal and not bondo that's a great deal
