"it feels like my job to remember"... 'Watching myself as I watch them and reach out to touch'... i don't know how to express better... these two represent a peculiar part of my childhood... i don't know, but is like i already know that i will be in very bad time and so will need these memory to consume so i could make another day.... thank you, very much!!
I remember this feeling when I first moved away from home to go to college. Bring back a lot of thoughts from back then! Also makes me want to work harder to create this type of home for someone someday.
I recently moved from Ohio to Washington and let me just tell you.. this song resonated inside of me something awful. It fired up my homesickness and I straight bawled my eyes out. It made me realize how homesick I actually was. Thank you so much for your lyricism and music ❤
As much as I love how music evokes such visceral responses, aligns life and dreams with each other, I also spend some fair amount of my thought on the idea of just how and why music is above all other stimuli, the one most capable of moving my mind, heart, and soul. Artists, like yourself, are just the peculiar anomaly that fits so well into my desire to notice the exquisite beauty of imperfection, a term quite well fit to crown the list of adjectives for the human being. I am selfishly happy for for each drop of joy and sorrow I have found in the music of so many, and I am glad to have written these words to you for just that reason. I return, now, to a quiet place in the throng, ears at the ready for each piece of music you bring us all.
philip you hit it out of the park every time! i had a question though, i love your beautiful 'fuck jeff bezos' folk song, and i was wondering if i could use it in my family DND game? the lore of a kind, powerful magic genie being undone thanks to nothing but the greed of a rich man she only wanted to help just seems like it would fit so well! i envisioned my family's adventuring party coming across the area where the genie lived, and finding the lyrics _Til he finally said "I have just one wish more_ _I am satisfied, so I wish that you would die_ _So you cannot grant wishes anymore"_ _Well the genie's eyes got big and sad and shiny_ _'Til she finally said "your wish is my command"_ _And with an effervescent sigh, she disappeared before his eyes_ _And no wishes were ever granted there again_ carved into a stone, and then they can go avenge the genie by finding the man responsible or maybe even find a magic way to bring the genie back i wouldnt gain any money from it, its just my family playing and we dont record it or anything. but if you dont want your song used in that manner, i completely understand!
