So a lil info: Daehwi (also a songwriter) and Woojin were in Wanna One, a group put together on Produce 101. It was absolutely *huge* mega popular group. You should probably check them out at some point. Daehwi writes a lot of house music it seems. Youngmin and Donghyun (also a songwriter) were in MXM (fav song for me is Yayaya) Youngmin had to quit because he was caught drunk driving. I think AB6ix may be the most popular Wanna One alumni group (Kang Daniel is the most popular, but he's solo) Hopefully that gives a little context!
Speaking of Wanna One - Hwang Min Hyun (now a soloist, formerly of NU'EST) just completed his promotions for Hidden Side and of course Lee Hoe Taek (aka Hui) who wrote/produced Energetic is on Boys Planet. Wanna One's 2021 MAMA performance (the reunion) is something to look up, just to put this group in context of KPOP history.
Basically the four members participated in a tv show pd101 (4 except the white haired one in breathe) 2/4 were included in winners and debuted in wanna one temporarily.. and while those 2 were in wanna one the other 2 formed the sub group “MxM” and when wannaone’s contract ended all the 4 came back together to debut thats when the 5th member came in and they debuted as 5member group in may2019 but after a while youngmin has to leave (who was in MxM) and from then on they are promoting as 4 member group woong (the member that joined last) is the eldest and they all are awsome
Their member Daehwi is the primary music composer and lyricist for Breathe, Cherry, Sugarcoat, and the song they performed on Good Girl (the song is called Red Up...based on their fandom’s red lightstick; it’s a b-side from their VIVID EP). If you like their title tracks you’ll like a lot of their b-sides because Daehwi also writes a lot of their b-side music too. All the members of AB6ix compose music for the group though (Stay Young, another title track, was written by Woojin, their rapper). My favorite b-side tracks Daehwi has written include Sucker for Your Love, Merry Go Round, A Long Winter, Vivid, Dandelion, Love Air, Bloom, & Lululala. 1,2,3 & Blind for Love (other title tracks) are also Daehwi song compositions...and the nu disco remix version they released for it...is...my...ultimate...jam! They have a lot of good b-side music...sometimes I like their b-sides more than their title tracks. What I love the most about them though is that they’re constantly putting out music, from OSTs to collabs. They have so many collab releases. They even started releasing solo albums even though none of the members are in military yet (aka they’re still promoting as a group), which is unusual for younger male kpop groups. Usually kpop idols don’t get to release solo albums until members start branching off into military. But ab6ix’s company gives the members a lot of freedom/opportunities because their company has no clue how to promote AB6ix LOL. So the members end up having to do the leg work of promoting themselves via the individual work they find.
they’re so underrated it’s ridiculous. even though i stan them i feel like even i don’t show them enough appreciation 😭 close is my favorite but i also really enjoy jamming to salute (not sure if it’ll be to your tastes but it is an excellent song!) and side note, the members have such amazing personalities, and such a strong friendship, i remember falling in love watching their content when i first discovered them, they’re so funny, and getting to witness (some of) woong’s introduction to/into the group was adorable. and i know people are divided on shipping but omg woongjin kills me oof
The dance for breathe is so good!! Also the song Salute is one of my favorites. They all have a solo MV which are all so good and underrated. Daehwi’s rose,scent,kiss is amazing!
Well a quick explanation in 2017 the company send 4 trainees to the reality Produce 101 Season 2, 2 of them win a spot in the project Group Wanna One meanwhile the other 2 were debuted as MXM, in 2019 when Wanna One disbanded (because was a project for only one year and half) the company decided debut AB6IX with the 2 members of Wanna One, the 2 of MXM and a new trainee that is the main vocal debuted in 2019 as AB6IX, yes 5 members, the 6 is "because AB6IX is the 5 members and the fans", in 2020 Youngmin left the group after the scandal of him because DUI

Hollywood is one of their iconic songs. They performed this song for the first time on Produce 101. Daehwi composed this song when he was 17 and Woojin choreographed the dance.
How did I miss this?!?!? If you're confused of the group's history it's a little tricky but here's a summary. AB6IX consist of members that participated in Produce S2. Daehwi and Woojin debuted in Wanna One(they made it on the top 11 in the final rankings) and Youngmin and Donghyun formed MxM as a duo. When Wanna One's contract was done(1.5 years) AB6IX was formed with Woong added by the members' choice(he was a past YG and JYP trainee). I used to fully stan AB6IX but I kinda drifted after their 3rd/4th comeback so this is a nice refresher for me too. I'll tell you thou, their album, VIVID, is a whole solid album👌.
They all have solo songs with mvs on their album 5nally. I love moondance and rose, scent and kiss personally but breakup, more and color eye are good too.
The fact that this is up at all has me shook, because BrandnewMusic is NOTORIOUS for blocking their content for reactors. You must have accumulated some good karma lol. I love AB6IX, they're actually one my all-time faves. But especially outside of Korea they are very obscure, despite two of their members having been in WannaOne. But their music is literally top tier (incidentally, stream Park Woojin's solo track 'Top Tier' lol, he's the deep voiced rapper and it's a recent solo song of his) and they write and produce the majority of their own music (Daehwi mostly, he also writes for other artists). I'm glad you're reacting to them and bringing some attention to them :) PS: Woong is my bias and has been from the start, even before he had the abs, which is my biggest flex lol. The one you keep noticing is Donghyun tho. Which I'm sure you know by now lol.

ab6ix were actually like kinda up there with 4th gen groups when they debuted in 2019 cause they were highly anticipated as four of them auditioned on produce 101 (the show that made wanna one) with their self produced, choreographed and written song so ppl had high expectations for them since the start as they were so impressed that these trainees already seemed like a group and so become a group that people anticipated for after the 2 members wanna one contract ended so they received lots of love in the early days of debut but then after the member youngmin got removed from the group and plus their company which sucks at managing on top of that, the group has lost and is still losing lots of fans unfortunately and also has led to quite a lot of solo stans cause the company treats members differently so they don’t feel like supporting the whole group. thankfully they have a strong and loyal korean fan base so they’re not like having to disband or anything but yep truly underrated in comparison to what they could’ve been now
