    The Spanish ingrained the Cast system through the Catholic Church. Yet, dark skin people, blacks, indegenous, Meztiso( mix race= the name Mexican) were freerer in San Antonio. After all that is why Miss Emily Morgan is the Yellow Rose of Texas.

      1/3 of the people from the Canary Islands who settled in San Antonio were Black. They were separated because of their skin color to the East of the San Antonio River.
