I have never seen so many great looking horses. Have you ever had one that wasn’t good looking? You are an amazing family. I really look forward to these videos, thank you. 🤠
👍👍👍. Love your videos as they’ve only gotten better and love your interaction with your subs and having Jerry answer questions. Five year old boys breaking things by playing hard didn’t appear to make Henson happy. As a team you both work so hard and I do remember the difficulty keeping eye on the smaller kids and teaching responsibilities and cost of things. They hated tack cleaning the most cus they had so many they were responsible for and if got broken cus was too dry or covered in sweat hated if someone or horse got hurt. Gramps and our part owner and ruled tenderly with a fist and the kids loved the work afterwards. One step to their own horse or going on a long ride and proud when someone said nice work on the tack. Just a memory and certain Henson especially has his own for sure. Jaspers parents taking their time with his own horse is perfect and definitely safer as grampa Jerry stated. Horses are absolutely beautiful and moms are stunning coming from pasture. But the way you handle all the horses makes for a best friend one can count on. That’s what I enjoy the most from first handling to the saddle and the first ride when together it counts the most. Keep showing all the work ya do everyday and have Henson and Jerry tell their stories along with your own moms version cus it’s exciting to live this life all over again in my memory bank of ranching and the great time loving it. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
The Babbitt Ranch has some nice horse. But I think I like yours better. I like that you have more color and there nice and fit, and good minded. And you guys are gentle and patient with them too.
Ain't it awful the number of people who don't seem to understand that raising kids is the parent's responsibility and theirs only. My family started them on horses and had no ponies at all. The local ranchers all had "kid horses" they shared around. Then WWII came along and all the kid horses went to the military in San Antonio to start training Calvary riders, I was following my Dad on Balingwire at 4 yr. old, he was about 20 and mostly bombproof. He did run away with me at the pens once, but my uncle caught him. The war changed all that, we went to Ft Worth for Dad to work in the aircraft factory. After that it was my Moms home place with a few horses, cows and regular visits to my Dad's home and some ranch work. Anyway, to each and every family, do it your way.
Really enjoying your videos! And the Q&A with cute Grandad in the red shirt was very informative. Good to hear about the many different grasses available to your horses. You show us there's a lot more to horse ranching than just branding and riding. Hope there's a vid on the farrier work too :)) Also, I like to check out which lovely earrings you wear each day. A bit of glamour never hurts! Thanks!
We use Valley Vet Supply, too. I try to shop their sales and get some really great deals in bulk. Question... what breed of cattle are we seeing there? I grew up in SoDak and we raised herfords, so not really familiar with other breeds. Having never spent any time to speak of in the southwest, your grazing methods are fascinating. It's beautiful country and we're loving both your and Jerry's channels.
We were the first to sell hay at the Gallup Fleemarket back in the late 80’s and have been there since we are the ones at the north end. For years we were at the south end but the market gave us designated spots and that is where they put me at the north
@@PaintedDesertRanch honestly, what he said they ate were unfamiliar grasses or plants that I would bet the majority of us have never heard of before. I'm from the Southwest and couldn't even make out what the words were as most were foreign to me. It would have been nice if he had explained what they were rather than give unfamiliar names. Would you be so kind as to reply here in writing as to what he actually said? I and probably others would be very grateful. Thanks
Why do you put so many brands on your horses? I noticed you have the big main one, but what's with the 2 small numbers you put on their butts? I'm in Canada and never seen that one before.
I wonder who all the folks are on the videos, working on the ranch, family or staff, individuals. Could you let us know at a Q and A? You may have already introduced everyone on a video, and if so you could provide a link to that episode in a description box and just reference it. Is that an idea?
Well, there’s Jerry and Nancy that own the ranch. They are Henson’s parents. I married Henson 16 years ago and we have 3 children. Brad runs the neighboring ranch and Jasper is his son. I don’t have a video introducing everyone, some would rather not be on camera so we just kind of did introductions within the various videos.
Question the hay you were selling at Gallup where was it baled just from looking at the videos I haven’t seen anything green is your hay hauled in or do you grow it
When I was younger and my father and I had 2 Palomino horses 1 mare and 1 gelding. But before the people gelded the stud it cross bred with his mother. The colt the mare threw was a Albino Palomino stud colt
The people who buy horses from us still pay Henson’s regular colt starting fee, however JHeart horses/customers take priority on the training schedule.
Usually nothing. We are in a drought this year so we have put out about 3 ton of protein tubs and fed the mares about 10lbs of hay per horse when ever we see them. So not much.
You can contact me on Messenger through FB. The link to our page is in the description of this video. We are taking names for fall/winter orders now. They are all custom made.
Yes, I started to write the same thing. I was confused when she said "out of Blanco" a few times, and then realized that she must have been talking about the sire and not the mare.
@@jheartquarterhorsesaz why so young? I'm more used to buying yearlings or much older weanlings at the end of the year. Is it just to get them sold as soon as possible? Are they already fully registered with the AQHA when you sell them?
Some do go missing... most of the time we don’t even know what happened. Once there was a pack of dogs that would get something or chew tails off (calves)... the dogs eventually disappeared.
Would these be considered foundation quarter horses? They don't look like they're on steroids like what you see in halter classes, where the mares look like stallions and the stallions look like bodybuilders. I find yours far more attractive. They also look like they'd be a lot more agile.
Jerry doesn’t get attached... me (Danielle) on the other hand, I will. Especially if it’s super nice one I’ve put a lot of time into.... BUT I’m not so attached that I won’t sell them to the right buyer for the right price.

Thank you Rachel! Means a lot!!
It’s always great seeing your beautiful horses and what you all do loved your QandA with Jerry

Wow! Those are some nice looking horses! They look like they have nice minds too
Great answer on the younguns mount
What a nice bunch of level headed 2 year olds! Another great video of the day to day chores, very informative...thank you
That Blanco filly is a nice looking pony. Maybe a new color- greyskin instead of buckskin

Now there's the answer about Jasper and his bigger horse...now leave the lil guy alone 😤. His grandpa gave some great facts 👍

What do the animals usually eat out there? They always look so good. So what can they eat there. Here we have grass..

So when someone buys a horse do you guys train all the horses u guys sell or do u got to pay more for u Guys to train it
The people who buy horses from us still pay Henson’s regular colt starting fee, however JHeart horses/customers take priority on the training schedule.
How long do you keep the colts before you let them go to the new owners
Usually 4 months just depends on the mare and foal.
Once again blown away from what i dont know! I Am tryiing to talk my husband into a 2 wk. Trip out west. Do u guys offer shooting on your property ???
Hmmm, that would be a question for Jerry
Good looking philly
Awesome video
What do the cows eat?… They crack the rocks open and eat the kernels! Ha ha
😂 if you watch our video titled “Bringing in some young fillies...”, we answer that question at the end.
Small brandings big parties! One case per calf.
Really, that’s where I buy my hay from 😱😱
Thanks
Do you supplement the cows in pasture? Love these videos. So different in the desert sw. Beautiful rumuda. Good Lord.
We will put out protein tubs and hay when they need it, yes.
How much do you supplement feeding do you do for the cows and horses in the summer
Usually nothing. We are in a drought this year so we have put out about 3 ton of protein tubs and fed the mares about 10lbs of hay per horse when ever we see them. So not much.
Where do you get your hay from that you sell in New Mexico, since it doesn’t appear that your Arizona operation looks like it can produce the hay.
No, it does not. We haul it up from the Phoenix area.
@@PaintedDesertRanch where at in phx? What’s the price if u don’t mind me asking?
There are several farms we buy from. 3 string bales are averaging about $15/ bale right now.
How come U brand the colts with numbers on their right hip?

How many acres is the ranch?
How’s that stud you guys picked up from Allen Palmer doing?
He’s turned out to pasture
You guys raise some really pretty n nice horses. Do you guys raise hay in Arizona?
