I had no idea that Rob could sing before I watched this episode. I had no idea what I was expecting, but when he opened his mouth and started singing, I couldn't help but sit there in shock for a few seconds. I rewound this part like five times just to hear him sing 😂
Lord Voldemort HE WHO MUST NOT BE NAMED HAS RETURNED. FLEE FOR YOUR LIVES. (No but seriously, I searched him up on Spotify and everything and found it. Such a wonderful voice.)
I always get shivers at the last part; "one of theses days, won't be long. You'll call me name and I'll be gone". Literally the second Rob starts that part, I get the shivers down my back.
"Fare thee well, oh honey." Honey = creation. Everything he's ever made. So it's really like: "Fare thee well, my children. I hope you do well when I'm gone." I'm going to go cry now.
Yeah, the whole song had this hidden meaning behind it, he sung it right after he'd decided he was going to sacrifice himself to Amara, but we didn't find out about that until Metatron revealed it later.
I’ve listened to several versions of this song, and they are all too flowery and overdone. This version is simple, pure. Wish it could be purchased/downloaded.
This was quite possibly my favorite episode of supernatural. It was layered with nostalgia and sorrow. This song foreshadowed so much and it breaks my heart
Robbie, we'll miss you so much... You were by far one of the best writers on the show. Thank you for this wonderful episode, and every single one you wrote before. They were all perfect. What hurts the most is that now, we truly understand the meaning of this song. Also, "One of these days,it won't be long/ You'll call my name and I'll be gone" is not in the original song, and it hurts all the more. Fare thee well, Robbie, we love you.
If I had wings, like Noah's dove I'd fly up the river,to the one I love Fare thee well, oooh honey Fare thee well I knew a men,who was long and tall he moved his body, like a cannonball Fare thee well, oooh honey Fare thee well Remember one night in the drizzling rain And around my heart I felt an aching pain Fare thee well, oooh honey Fare thee well One of these days,it won't be long You'll call my name and I'll be gone Fare thee well, oooh honey Fare thee well
The song, the way chuck looks out, and the way Metatron looks at chuck as he reads the script is really hitting that he is going to die. Chuck is going to fight the darkness and in the process neither is going to make it. So then world will really be neither evil nor good. the boys will drive away and leave it all behind.
+yourarkangel There's a 12th season so nice idea but no. Personally I think I figured out how they can defeat the Darkness and honestly I can't figure out why they didn't think of it: the Empty. According to Billie the Reaper nothing can escape from it. If that's true than its the perfect place to send Amara.
Not sure. If they kill him the world will end, same with the Darkness from the looks of it. Notice that the sky is turning red as God is lying there dying.
lizzie yarlett Shit man. Well Chuck Shurley Prophet of the Lord is actually God. Not a big surprise honestly: fans have thought that since the end of season 5. Season 6... ugh. Not really a great season. 7 introduces an enemy that only lasts that one season but is fun. When we reach 8 though that's when things get REALLY fun!!! Especially with Sam and Dean's new home, the Bunker. REAL cool place!!! Some great scenes in it this season such as God teleporting the car into the middle of it and the Winchesters forcing God and Lucifer (played by Misha Collins this season, aka Cas) to have a sit down and work out their differences. Which they DO by the way. Lucifer's fate at the moment is kinda up in the air: he got yanked out of Cas but Cas doesn't know what happened to him after that. I think I read he'll be back for season 12. There's a good chance that if he does, he'll no longer be evil. Misha as Lucifer was REALLY COOL though!!!
Sam- (opens fridge to find mouldy pie) Oh God! Chuck- ?? Sam I'm not in the fridge. Are you okay? Sam- uegh god dammit Chuck- what have I done now? Sam- no that's not what I meant- *mumbles* Jesus Chuck- WHAT WHERE
Sam: "You told God to cool it"? Dean: "yeah, he kept singing those dumbass folk songs." By far, one of the best episodes (Don't call me Shirley) of Supernatural!! The whole series has changed me in profound ways... #TeamFreewill forever!! ❤️❤️
Such an amazing scene, the song was sung so beautifully and I love the look on metatron face after reading the script it was the look of pure love like he just rediscovered the love of his life. He found the god he truly believed in and loved which made the scene so much better.
A simple name Chuck being a non-believer I would follow and believe in Chuck he is way more cooler then the other Gods that are in this world Chuck Rules.
Those last few lines are hitting hard today.. hearing the news yesterday was like a punch in the face.. Supernatural will be gone, but we still have our family 💖
OMG what an amazing scene!! tears flow as hope and happiness rise from the ashes! I think this has got to be my favourite ending ever😊 thank you Chuck for coming back❤ my words really aren't doing my emotions justice!
Shane Cummings "Chuck be with you". I've never been a god loving person, nor have I ever feared him or really had reason to believe in him or any god, but that sentence...that's the most calming, soothing thing I have ever heard.
He sang this so raw and pure. So beautiful. The way he sings it just gives me goosebumps and actually makes me emotional. Not a lot of songs do that to me. I don’t really show much emotion to songs and shows but this song and also supernatural just... its perfect.
When my friend passed a few months ago, they played this song at his service along with Simple Man. He was very in to rock and was just starting to watch Supernatural x.x Rip man.
I heard this song for the first time in the film Inside Llewyn Davis and when I heard this on Supernatural I got so excited! Rob sang this beautifully- it gives me chills!
I'm Catholic and I see Chuck as who I see God. The loving and forgiving person he is. Not what we claim. What God himself claimed. When Chuck sang in this part. It made me proud to be Catholic.
I thought he was referring to Sampson a man long (hair) and tall he'd move his body like a cannonball. Sampson was fierce warrior who couldn't be stopped
If this man was the God (like real real) I would be religious. 😂 Or I might be satanist because for hells sake all Lucifers in every fucking show is absolute perfection ❤
+Salt McSalt Lucifer is a master of manipulation (in this case making you think he's a cool guy) Lucifer isn't a good angle and to even say that is blasphemy. Lucifer wants you to love and welcome him. As a child I remember going to church and the preacher telling me "in the end times good will become bad and bad will become good." I didn't really understand what that means until I started paying attention. My point is, do your research on Lucifer and not Hollywood Lucifer. Lucifer is corruption and evil.
Outstanding.. Watched as many as I could over the years.. Only Show I watched and loved Till End.. But God As Chuck . Another Outstanding. The writers, actors All. Just Ghe Most Enjoyment I Ever Gotting Out of TV.. Still Now. Ex Wife Got Me 4 Birthday coming up the All Seasons !!! Love Her... Anyway... Rob Benedicts voice and Pure Fealing,,I cry every time. With Pure Joy.
Castiel, An angel of the Assbutt I like how your username is of an angel called Castiel and yet, if I'm correct, your profile picture is of a demon named Sebastian Michaelis.
While watching that scene I stood there all touched by how they combined this song with the power of Chuck/God, He was just singing and that was all what it took to banish the Darkness and cure people.
Just remembered this song, haven’t heard it in a long time and all the words just jumped back into my head. This may be the only song I know from him but this man is a legend.
Having the priviledge to listen to Rob singing this live obliterated me. It was not long after the episode aired and for some reason this is what I consider my goodbye to SPN, the last episode I really enjoyed and a memory I'll cherish forever of a wonderful evening in Rome when this magical man made us all tear up.
I discovered this song from the Supernatural series back then when i was in 7th grade and forgotten it for 4 years until i read a word Farewell so i remembered then search it up Farewell though its Fare thee well so i rediscovered it 2021 damn i remembered watching it.*Nostalgic hits😭❤️🤝 Sorry for the grammar
I had no idea that Rob could sing before I watched this episode. I had no idea what I was expecting, but when he opened his mouth and started singing, I couldn't help but sit there in shock for a few seconds. I rewound this part like five times just to hear him sing 😂
He has a band called Louden Swain
Lord Voldemort HE WHO MUST NOT BE NAMED HAS RETURNED. FLEE FOR YOUR LIVES. (No but seriously, I searched him up on Spotify and everything and found it. Such a wonderful voice.)
same XD I also found out Henry Winchester (Gil Mckinney) has A TERRIFIC VOICE like seriously
Me to
Winster Chesty yeah same we just watched this one
Rob Benedict sang this wonderfully
He really did it was so perfect for the epis
I always get shivers at the last part;
"one of theses days, won't be long. You'll call me name and I'll be gone".
Literally the second Rob starts that part, I get the shivers down my back.
Georgia Williams I feel the exact same way
That's Jesus ❤
"Fare thee well, oh honey."
Honey = creation. Everything he's ever made. So it's really like:
"Fare thee well, my children. I hope you do well when I'm gone."
I'm going to go cry now.
Ashton Hoffman im like totally not crying...
that made me fucking cry
Yeah, the whole song had this hidden meaning behind it, he sung it right after he'd decided he was going to sacrifice himself to Amara, but we didn't find out about that until Metatron revealed it later.
This song is 110 years old at least
About that...
I’ve listened to several versions of this song, and they are all too flowery and overdone. This version is simple, pure. Wish it could be purchased/downloaded.

Chuck*
Definitely Godly
Robbie, we'll miss you so much... You were by far one of the best writers on the show. Thank you for this wonderful episode, and every single one you wrote before. They were all perfect. Did not know that ohgosh this piece of information just killed me
WHAT. What are you talking about?😨
+Igou Prim I'm so sorry... It made me really sad when I learned too.
Surprisingly this is the best version
the original is good as well
strictly speaking there is no original - it's a folk song.
i have feelings here, guys. i'm crying a river omg
NOW I'M SCARED OF THE END 😭😭
I know exactly how you're feeling I am literally crying right now
I WAS JUST CRYING TOO OMG
I think this season finale is going to wreck us all. even though we're used to it...
+Marike Käsekuchen MEEEEH NOOOOO
Marike Käsekuchen I'm so scared yet excited...
If I had wings,like Noah's dove
I'd fly up the river,to the one I love
Fare thee well,oooh honey
Fare thee well
I knew a men,who was long and tall
he moved his body, like a cannonball
Fare thee well,oooh honey
Fare thee well
Remember one night
in the drizzling rain
And around my heart
I felt an aching pain
Fare thee well,oooh honey
Fare thee well
One of these days,it won't be long
You'll call my name and I'll be gone
Fare thee well,oooh honey
Fare thee well
Thank you
Thanks?
did you just put the lyrics on a lyric video
I don't know how I've lived before hearing this song
Madison Sprowl same here, life until now has been meaningless, and now it all starts at fare thee well, irony!
Every time I listen to this, I bawl. One of my favorite episodes of the season and one of my favorite scenes from the show, so beautiful. ❤️
Supernatural's perfect! that's my favorite scene from the show... I cried
Literally my favourite scene in all eleven seasons.
When I die as a hunter this is getting played at my funeral
+WarGrowlmon18 I'm so hype for the season finale. Any predictions on wether you think they're actually going to have God die?..
Not sure. If they kill him the world will end, same with the Darkness from the looks of it. Notice that the sky is turning red as God is lying there dying.
Haven't even got to this season yet as only on season 6 but I've seen so many spoilers for all the seasons
lizzie yarlett
Shit man. Well Chuck Shurley Prophet of the Lord is actually God. Not a big surprise honestly: fans have thought that since the end of season 5. Season 6... ugh. He sings like God.
Your right- oh wait...
I’m currently crying while listening to rob’s amazing voice. Thank you supernatural.
Sam- (opens fridge to find mouldy pie) Oh God!

Sam- uegh god dammit
Chuck- what have I done now?
Sam- no that's not what I meant- *mumbles* Jesus

Chuck: What I'd I do NOW?!?!!?

15 years Supernatural fare thee well 😭😭😭😭
Can we all just agree that his voice is beautiful?
Luv the profile pic
Sam: "You told God to cool it"? Dean: "yeah, he kept singing those dumbass folk songs." By far, one of the best episodes (Don't call me Shirley) of Supernatural!! The whole series has changed me in profound ways... #TeamFreewill forever!! ❤️❤️

+Dragon_princ€
I actually think it was a look of shock. Maybe Chuck is gonna get killed off.
felt gossebumps when listened him for the first time in that episode... 😭😭its so touching...
A simple name Chuck being a non-believer I would follow and believe in Chuck he is way more cooler then the other Gods that are in this world Chuck Rules.
Those last few lines are hitting hard today.. hearing the news yesterday was like a punch in the face.. Supernatural will be gone, but we still have our family 💖
the way his voice crack is bEautiful.
iKR
It is the only voice crack that can be beautiful
Fare thee well supernatural...
if I listen to this song too much, I'm gonna cry.
I kinda wish Rob had gotten to sing one of Louden Swain's songs, but this one fits the story so well I can't be too disapointed.
OMG what an amazing scene!! tears flow as hope and happiness rise from the ashes! I think this has got to be my favourite ending ever😊 thank you Chuck for coming back❤ my words really aren't doing my emotions justice!
Aww Rob you can sing so well!!!!!
:'( and he's saying goodbye to his creation.
can't believe he was god the whole time
+som313ls It's been a popular fan theory for quite awhile, we were all so happy to discover that we were right all along =)
That is very true, they are very good about adopting fan theories and using them if they make sense and further the plot =)
No autotune, no extra instruments, just 2 guitar and a beautiful singer is enough to create a legendary song!!
God's dated men, he eats bacon and he can sing. Eat your heart out other religions, I follow the teachings of Chuck
Really man supernatural
+Davyfromthenavy Chucks entire charade was to experience, and he did. There doesn't need to be any "eat your heart out".
+Handsome Jack too bad
Davyfromthenavy It's really not.
man/woman i thought the exakt same thing!!!
I watched supernatural season 1-11 with my little brother. It was some of the best experience that we had together last year :)
RIP supernatural, thank you for all the memories ❤️
Aren't they rebooting the show?
can I die now. I've lived life to the full extent I wanted. chuck be with you children of spn.
Shane Cummings "Chuck be with you". I've never been a god loving person, nor have I ever feared him or really had reason to believe in him or any god, but that sentence...that's the most calming, soothing thing I have ever heard.
woww
I love this song! He has a great/ beautiful voice!!!! Wish there were more to listen to!
Rob fronts a band called Louden Swain. I recommend the song "She Waits" if you want to hear more of Rob's amazing voice.
+gothcatholic thanks! I'm checking it out now!
He sang this so raw and pure. So beautiful. The way he sings it just gives me goosebumps and actually makes me emotional. Not a lot of songs do that to me. I don’t really show much emotion to songs and shows but this song and also supernatural just... its perfect.
“One of these days it won’t be long you’ll call my name and I’ll be gone”
SUPERNATURAL IS ENDING AND IM
IN MY FEELS! IN MY FEELS I TELL YOU
"One of these days, it won't be long, you'll call my name, and i'll be gone" I love that line so much.
When my friend passed a few months ago, they played this song at his service along with Simple Man. He was very in to rock and was just starting to watch Supernatural x.x
Rip man.
This scene was so amazing
How can the supernatural writers thought that we can handle this....
Rob has an amazing voice! I fell in love with it when I first heard it!
My only question is why can't I purchase this yet?
You could download it from Sound cloud for free.
+Nancy Laufeyson THANK YOU I LOVE YOU SOOO MUCH
Nicole Marie ur pretty
"Dad has gone hunting, Sam ... And he hasn't been home for days."
OMG! Rob sings this song so confident and beautifully! The best version I've ever listen!
I heard this song for the first time in the film Inside Llewyn Davis and when I heard this on Supernatural I got so excited! Rob sang this beautifully- it gives me chills!
Why does he have the voice of an angel?? okay he has a god like voice then... I had too xx
I can't with Rob voice!! It just magical! 😭
idk what it is about it maybe its robs voice this song just makes me so emotional
I'm Catholic and I see Chuck as who I see God. The loving and forgiving person he is. Not what we claim. What God himself claimed. When Chuck sang in this part. It made me proud to be Catholic.
Fare thee well, my suffering and pain. I am happy now, thank you... God.
Beyond Hope Chuck
I hope Chuck will sing this to Lucifer in season 13
Didn’t happened
Such an amazing voice ... I never knew till Supernatural just WOW 😍
Man Rob is incredibly talented, loved this.
Rob
One of song that I've listened for countless time. Especially because of Rob vocals.
I'm bawling my eyes out. Send help.
This was the song with which I learned how to play and sing at the same time! Thanks Chuck (he actually kinda just gave me the ability)!
I listen to this on repeat when I go to sleep every night ❤️
I know a man, who was long and tall...
Jared?
Felia "He used his body like a cannonball" and the scene cuts to Sam. I took it as when he dropped Lucifer back in the pit.
I thought he was referring to Sampson a man long (hair) and tall he'd move his body like a cannonball. Sampson was fierce warrior who couldn't be stopped
I've watched this at least 30 times haha
How do I convert to the church of Chuck?!
your now my best friend
I'm pretty sure that if your a supernatural fan, you're automatically apart of The Church of Chuck :)
Michelle Winchester Well technically he's God so
It's called Christianity
read the winchesters Gospel
If this man was the God (like real real) I would be religious. 😂 Or I might be satanist because for hells sake all Lucifers in every fucking show is absolute perfection ❤
I agree with you
Because the producers do their research, and learn what kind of angel Lucifer really is.
same
+Salt McSalt Lucifer is a master of manipulation (in this case making you think he's a cool guy) Lucifer isn't a good angle and to even say that is blasphemy.
+Sterback mane nobody cares about your opinion dumbass get the fuck outta here
Outstanding..
Beatifull song, and if you think in the chapter ...is the right song
Hearing this after the most recent episode hits differently now.
It feels perfect for the final episode
I listened to this song a lot before it was on supernatural and this is still my favourite version
Oh how i wish he made a studio version of this. Would've listen to it non-stop.
SPN have a lot of great singers. They do really great covers.
On spotify there Is a live versione, search fare thee well (live)
Anyone else think he was gonna play Hallelujah ?
i actually looked forever for hallelujah after hahahaa
for a second i thought i fly away was gonna start
Chris Thompson OMC YES!
Chris Thompson YEEEEEESSSS I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE!! I'M NOT CRAZY
ruclips.net/video/TnoEgrAZKC0/видео.html there you go the song starts at like a minute in but there you go
One of these days, wont be long, you'll call my name and ill be gone.
0:38 - 0:49 reminds me of Jared/Sam
Haha me too! :D
same here
Well, shit! Now I can't think of anything else...
It is literally about Sam so yknow
Yeah lol pretty much.
One of my most favorite moments with the boys! Their faces when they see Chuck!
God at season 11: i play guitar, i dated men, and i love bacon!
God at season 15: it's time for some apocalypse.
Well the show only got better when he turned "evil". I don't think that freeing people from hell is evil tbh.
This song calms me down so much and rob is a blessing to our society what a guy
Such a moving song and an awe-inspiring talent singing this version.
Does my Father really have another name for himself?
god\allah have 99 names
arrahman . arahim ....
Hello brother, yes father has taking the shape of a human called Chuck!
Castiel, An angel of the Assbutt I like how your username is of an angel called Castiel and yet, if I'm correct, your profile picture is of a demon named Sebastian Michaelis.
Castiel Novak what is a Novak?
Perfect song, actor and ending to that episode of supernatural, good work :) love this song.
"Regardless, in the end, I'll reap him too..." -Death
This song made me want to cry
While watching that scene I stood there all touched by how they combined this song with the power of Chuck/God, He was just singing and that was all what it took to banish the Darkness and cure people.
he´s a great singer
Just remembered this song, haven’t heard it in a long time and all the words just jumped back into my head. This may be the only song I know from him but this man is a legend.
This hits different after the finale.
Very different. *grabs tissues*
Facts the finale did the impossible it made me cry
The finale ruined Chuck. Ruins this song tbh.
Anyone here after the series finale??
Having the priviledge to listen to Rob singing this live obliterated me. It was not long after the episode aired and for some reason this is what I consider my goodbye to SPN, the last episode I really enjoyed and a memory I'll cherish forever of a wonderful evening in Rome when this magical man made us all tear up.

Sorry for the grammar
I love his voice. Gawd I love his voice... This song speaks to me so flipping much... Gawd, getting the feels...
I know God would have experienced everything his wonderful creations have created.
all I can think of right now are the innocent lives lost in a cowardly act of Evil .. #LoveWins #Chooselove #PrayForOrlando
The power in Rob's voice is so mesmerizing
